Western food! The…read moreflying pan has very reasonable prices, poor coffee, mediocre food, and good service. I ordered the salmon Benedict, Kenzie the pepper and onion Benedict. The eggs being over cooked, had a non runny yolk. I ordered sides of baked beans and corn grits which were both fine. Our plates came out with the sides switched up. Not a big deal. Not bad for a western breakfast in Hong Kong. Not great either. I've had better western breakfast in Shanghai, though you would think Hong Kong being the international hub it is, would have even higher standards for western foods. Eggs Benedict: 85HK. Unlimited coffee: 35HK. Using a restaurants own WiFi to post a 2 star review about them: Priceless.

I visited the Flying Pan for a quick breakfast before heading off to work, and first impressions…read morewere good- it's a small, but low-key place, and while the menus are a bit much to look at, the food was just right. I went with an Eggs Guacamole and a mango juice and I thought it was all pretty awesome overall. The food isn't overly expensive, you get fairly generous portions, and they definitely don't skimp on your free sides. The potatoes were a tad dry and I probably wouldn't go with them the next time around, but their grits aren't half bad. Hollandaise sauce is thick, yet runny, and the eggs were poached perfectly. The guacamole was offered in generous portions, and the only thing that I could possibly say they weren't generous with, in terms of portion size was my juice. That's fine though. I'll definitely be back to try a few other menu items.

A better lunch alternative than the frenetic HK greasy spoon diners for lunch. On the top floor of…read moreK11, Good Place - unlike other restaurants with names like "Lucky Top Restaurant", "Celestial Curry", or "Super Duper Number One - POW!" - Good Place actually lives up to its name: it doesn't tout itself as stratospherically great, but it's better than OK - it's quite GOOD. Came here three times in two weeks for a casual business lunch. Being on the top floor and a little more expensive than a greasy spoon, this place never became terribly crowded nor noisy, even during peak lunch hours. Decor is crafted textured light pine wooden bench seating in an open space with little distance between tables. Every table has a jug of water and two glasses. Lunch menu has several set meal options - all meat filled - as well as a la carte. The emphasis is on healthy dining with simple ingredients. The set meals - a panko style fried pork cutlet, halibut with greens, and something steak like - all range from about HKD84 to HKD88. Each set meal comes with a soup and after lunch beverage of coffee/tea/lemon water. You also have a choice of white or five-grain rice. The cutlet was nicely-breaded and fried and substantial enough for me for a lunch meal. The palm-sized halibut fillet, which seemed it had been a little over-frozen and kind of mushy, despite the nice subtle sauce - is not enough food for someone over the age of 4. The hefty bowls of rice make up for the lack of the main...or are SUPPOSED TO, however. Being that it's a set menu at HK$90 or less we couldn't really complain. If you order a la carte - and there is a good selection of meats and pastas - there are many other satisfying options. On one occasion, a diner at the table next to us had a Flintstone-size steak that would make you want to loosen the buttons on your pants and yell, WILLLLMMAAAAA! The steak came with a few obligatory vegetables, and the man - who was not much larger than the steak itself - wolfed it down within 10 minutes. Good place. Good grief.

Food will come out in an equal amount of blinks. I ordered a hot silky egg pudding for myself and goodness me, it was THE BEST. Sweet, silky and absolutely slurpable. Mom and dad got the milk pudding and while it was good, yall need to venture your way into Shunde, China to have the real deal. We got some of the other classics like macaroni and French toast and they were classically good but nothing exceptional. Glad to have finally had the experience!

I'm not raving about service just the experience. We came early to avoid the line and ensure we can eat at our own table. We got her at 7:39AM and breeze in....staff runs the floor with brutal efficiency--you'll have your food within minutes of sitting down! Of course, I got the famous menu set. The scrambled eggs on toast live up to every bit of the hype: rich, buttery, and perfectly glossy. Pair it with their hot milk tea and the signature steamed milk pudding for the perfect ! I never had an egg white pudding but LOVE IT!! Luckily, the staff were very nice to me. This is certainly NOT a place to lounge, but for the food and the sheer local vibe, it is worth every second! Tip: Go on a weekday morning or be like me on Sunday aim to be there by 8AM!
