Both visits, I dropped by after work. The mall has a parking lot. It does get a bit busy at night. I backed into a spot and took the entrance on the left to head inside. There was a huge banner that led me to this food stall. You can't miss it. This place goes get busy at dinnertime. Both times, staff were pleasant and nice. York University students and non-students alike drop by for some good, cheap eats in this mall, so it makes sense why this place is so popular. There is a special for students. Between 11 am and 1 pm, they can get the son's size lasagna for $5. It's such a steal that I almost want to be a student again for this deal only... haha! You can choose between beef or vegetable lasagna. I have now had both. It takes approximately six minutes to heat up a small (son's) size of lasagna. The medium size is the dad. You can get a double of each size, depending on your hunger pangs. I don't mind waiting for yumminess. Staff were cool to come around the counter both times to hand me my food. It was such a nice touch. During my first experience, I had ordered a caesar salad. I noticed while heading to my car that I didn't have it, so I walked back. The male staffer immediately knew and was extremely apologetic. Craziness does that to all of us. I paid with a credit card both times. It allows tapping. Paying with mine was smooth. The son's size of lasagna is generous for one person to devour. I brought my lasagna home both times. It was still warm in my insulated bag. This place does four-layer lasagna. I liked that it had the perfect amount of cheese, which made it not terribly rich. It had sliced mushrooms in it. Yes! It pleased this mushroom fan. The difference between the meat and vegetarian lasagna versions was the sauce. The meat sauce in the former was excellent. It tasted homemade. My side salad was decent. I got croutons, parmesan cheese, and Italian dressing in separate small containers. The lettuce was romaine, which made my day because it was fresh and crisp. It made me happy, Getting grab-and-go lasagna is a brilliant concept. I love the lasagna here that's made with love and care. It's yummy. This place is the perfect stop to grab takeout lasagna while heading home from the office. (38)

Healthy Alternative is truly the best healthy alternative food delivery option we've found so far…read more(especially for their vegan options) that is both reasonable price-wise and tastes amazing (without a lot of the unsavoury additives you'll find...ahem...corn syrup). We've tried LiveFit, Yumba, WeCook...I can't believe I actually WANT to order their salads - they're that good. I've also ordered the meat options and they were great too. The only reason why I've given them 4 stars is because I wish their ordering system was more clearly explained and user friendly on the website, because I had to call/email them a couple times to figure out how to do it. Just a heads up, it's a food subscription, they offer a first time delivery discount code, call them and ask for it. You order a plan through the website then they email you the weekly menu options. They also offer some wiggle room in the delivery dates, which is awesome. Also, free delivery, yay!! I also wish they offered more non-soy vegan options, but still love that they offer delicious vegan options. As a side note, I've really loved their salad dressings & sauces so far (particular YUM to their tzatziki or aioli sauces). Definitely worth a try if you're trying to find a delicious and healthy option!

It must have been "food fate", because I'm extremely happy that I made the change. What I like most about Healthy Alternative: --Tasty fresh food with different menu selections per delivery (I especially love their breakfast dishes) --Portion-controlled to fit my diet --Customized for special requests (i.e. No asparagus for me, please!) --Delivered right to my door twice a week --Fairly priced If and when I've had any concerns, Healthy Alternative has always been quick to respond and rectify the issue. Now that's what I call customer service! I look forward to continuing my service with HA for a long time to come. Thank you! :)

I'd been wanting to try the cannoli from St. Philip's Bakery for a while, and I finally stopped by!…read moreI picked up 2 classic chocolate cannolis, 2 pistachio cannolis. and 2 ricotta lobstertails Price & Size: Cannolis were around $4 each, not exactly cheap, but they were quite large. Taste: The shells were crispy, and the ricotta filling was smooth, not too sweet, and overall tasty. The lobstertails were also crispy and creamy. Verdict: After trying the 3 most famous cannoli spots in Vaughan, this one ranks 3rd for me. They were good, but nothing mind-blowing--I wouldn't go out of my way just for these. Of course, this is subjective, so this might be someone else's favorite! Bakery & Service: The store was clean, well-organized, and easy to browse. The staff was friendly, but I wish they had price tags on display. Beyond cannoli, this bakery offers a huge selection of pastries, bread, cakes, deli meats, ready-to-eat meals, coffee, and gelato--so I'd love to come back and try more!

When I attempted to speak, she glanced at a colleague, checked the time, and rather dismissively stated, "We are closed." This was confusing, as several customers were still actively shopping and completing purchases. When I pointed this out, she responded that "this section is closed," despite remaining at the same counter and continuing her work. The interaction came across as unprofessional and discourteous. I would expect a more respectful and customer-oriented approach, particularly when the store is still open and serving others. I hope management is aware of such conduct, as it does not reflect well on the overall customer experience.

I visited this store in Vaughan on a Saturday afternoon. I saw the storefront with a huge sign as I drove along Major Mackenzie Drive. However, parking is at the back and there's a back entrance that leads you to the store. It's weird, but not an unusual setup. It's weird in the sense that I walked out of the store to take a photo of the entrance facing Major Mac. I then came back into the store. There were many parking spots available. I backed into one that was close to the back entrance. Two women were behind the counter. Both were nice, letting me leisurely look at all the yummy baked goods and chocolate. I made it to the front counter. I showed my Too Good to Go app with my order. Immediately, the woman put together my order. I got a rather large, clear bag full of goodies. It was impressive. I looked at the chocolate-dipped pretzels. They looked good. I bought a dark chocolate one. I noticed a box of red velvet cookies. I wanted one, but the woman said that I needed to order them in advance. Bummer. They really should be offered at the store. I passed on placing an order and returning a couple of days later. Instead, I got a cheese pretzel. I paid for my dark chocolate and cheese pretzels with a debit card. I tipped and tapped. It was a smooth transaction. With my two bags of goodies, I thanked both women, did some more browsing, and then headed back to my car. This store has everything that you need to build a charcuterie board. From the actual wooden boards themselves, to meat sticks, you can pair everything nicely with whatever breads that you choose. In the fridge, there was bone broth. It was a nice find. If you are looking for a meal here, you can get salads, paninis, and more. There are places to sit down and devour your food. There was also a fridge with cold beverages, including Brio. My dark chocolate pretzel was yummy. The dark chocolate was the right amount that coated the pretzel itself, which was crunchy. The salt looked like there was a lot of it, but it balanced out the dark chocolate well. I'd get another one in a heartbeat. I loved my cheese pretzel. It was chewy, cheese, and yummy. I'd also get another one. My Too Good to Go package consisted of three donuts and two huge pretzels. I loved all three of my donuts. They all had chocolate on them or filled. The downside ordering through the app is that I don't know what the donut flavours are officially called. The donuts had a medium denseness to them. They were enjoyable and not overly sweet. I loved my huge pretzels. I dunked one of them in a cheese sauce that I had made. It was such a nice snack with the perfect amount of chewiness to the pretzel. I dunked the other one in vegetable soup. When the weather is colder, I like dunking things. It happened to be these pretzels. I loved everything that I ate. I can't wait to return and get more baked goods. I'll need to remember to order the red velvet cookies online in advance. (459)

They offer various services and events, and I recalled as well that they also do kids camps. Over the past couple years, my daughter has taken a big interest in cooking. And not just a fleeting interest, but consistently enjoys watching cooking shows and wanting to participate in cooking at home. As we were planning summer camps this year, I thought we should try to finally give her a chance to live her dream a bit and attend a week here. She's gone to a city-run one before. Though she quite enjoyed it, it was fairly simple. At The Chef Upstairs, they are in a full commercial kitchen with gas stoves, deep fryers and a whole bunch of other things you'd expect from a real kitchen. They have a firm belief that kids can learn safely - in fact, the safest thing is to expose them and provide proper technique. And they're not just making things like a deli meat roll up wrap, but full-on multi-course meals (they make breakfast and lunch) and from recipes from all around the world. You should look at the menus they post on their site for the kids camps. It was a bit of a sacrifice for us as we do not live nearby. That said, they have two locations, so a number of people are well-situated if near Vaughan and midtown Toronto. It's also a bit more money than many other kids camps - though its apparent with the food costs and the high staffing ratio that it's still good value. Ultimately, it was well worth it. My daughter loved it and truly lived out a dream and learned a lot. The highlight for her was the week long prep leading up to the Iron Chef-esque competition where they planned their own full menu. I'm thrilled that The Chef Upstairs lived up and even exceeded our already high expectations and truly made a lifetime memory for our daughter.
