As a cheesesteak lover the shop is by far the best place around. No competion whatsoever around marin. Always fresh and made to order with soooo much cheesey goodness in every bite. Id recomend getting the king of phiily, it has extra meat and cheese compared to the regular philly sando. I got the steak today, but i also very much enjoy there chicken phillys as well. Cant wait for my next visit.

I haven't had a good traditional Philly Cheese Steak since my last time in Philly before a ball game. LSS - I was looking for something good and they popped up on Yelp so figured I would give it a go. I came in expecting the usual East Coast "hold the peppers" and all would be good. However, there are quite a few more choices than I anticipated and I left it to Kevin to get me the right order based on what I was used to. I laughed and said "hey I don't have to ask for cheese on a Philly cheese steak do I" and placed my order. They use some serious packaging to keep your Philly hot until arrival. The bun was fluffy and absorbed the juices well, the meat was tasty and juicy, the onions and mushrooms were good but there wasn't any cheese...... My Philly Cheese Steak was....cheese less! Oh my goodness this was a problem of epic proportions I had waited two years for an authentic Philly Cheese Steak and.... I was crestfallen. So, being a genuine epicurean disaster in the making I took matters into the standard Philly way of handling things... I called like only a Phillies Baseball fan can do and rapidly gave my Rocky like interpretation of the chain of events and the culmination of the enfolding disaster that even Emeril would have been challenged to solve. The true horror of the situation caught management by surprise. After everyone was able to catch their breath... They said no worries, we will take care of you and put you on the "take care of this guy next time wall." I relaxed, considered my cheese less alternatives, added mayo and suffered through without the cheese...it was good - but not great. A week later I arrived ready & waiting for my picture to be on the wall with the "take care of this guy note" stars and my bust. But alas, there was no, note, no picture, no name, it was like they didn't know it had happened... Luckily Kevin recalled my desire for an epic Philly, discussion of the Buffalo Bills and upon hearing about the cheese less, cheese steak disaster immediately grasped the gravity of said situation and took matters into his own hands. Barking out orders, like General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge the entire Cheese Steak team realized how important this next Cheese Steak order was and they fell to it like Patton's tanks zipping through WWII Panzers. I could feel their energy, knew they had the right stuff... The anticipation was.... too much, I had to walk outside for fear the sizzling steak, onions and mushroom odors wafting towards me would render my olfactory and taste buds useless for the upcoming task. I had to be calm and cool knowing the entire team was working overtime to make this epic. I felt like I was waiting for the girl at my first prom, oh the anticipation. Finally it was time. I could see them high fiving in the background and cheering for this special epic Philly cheese steak. I gently grabbed the bundle of joy and headed back to the ranch because you can't eat there with Covid19. The ride home was rough as I had to open my windows due to the Philly smells hitting my olfactory glands like I was sitting behind home plate. I prepped for it, did some jaw loosing exercises to ensure I was able to capture all the flavors in each bite and looked at the package. Did they get it right this time? I tore open the wrapper and was almost knocked over - "Ka Pow" like an old Adam West Batman punch the smell was awesome. But was their cheese? Everything was melty and looked right but I had been fooled before, there was only one way to find out for sure I tightened my belt, loosened my jaw and took a giant bite.... BINGO!! Meat flavor just the right amount of juice and grease, onions, mushrooms good but... the Philly cheese - this time it was there and it was a home run flavor hit! Excellent - I closed my eyes and I was back on the East Coast. The only thing I would want differently would be eating it there on the spot. The roll gets a little mushy and the onions, steak would be better if a little crispier which in the to go package isn't really possible in a ten minute ride home. I will be back, tell them you want "Dave's East Coast Philly order." Thanks Guys!

Just a bit different, no need to overdo things in this little area behind the small Menke Park / Piccolo Pavilion area in Corte Madera. Hiding in plain sight as it were, there have always been salons of one stripe or another along the block, essentially a salon of salons. For a time I did find something here for myself, way back when vhs rental movies were a thing. This was in a fairly large retail space, almost like a separate little cottage at the far east end, around the corner and somewhat hidden from view from the parking lot. Ironic then that this is the very place I find myself going again today. Zonda Meats is the addition to this area that's especially timely now as grocers nearby are closed, and premium quality butcher shops almost nonexistent. I happened on Zonda the other day while biking down the little side street of Montecito that forms the east side of the small park. The owner in residence, Alberto Lataliste, is from Argentina but has been in the USA for many years. I worked in northern Argentina for more than a decade and developed a great appetite for the beef raised there, and the way cuts of meat often follow muscle groups rather than slicing through them as is done here. Alberto's focus on meat quality is to identify and import quality producers there and delivering without freezing or addition of preservative. The selection is extensive so you'll benefit from making your own quality comparisons. In addition to the meat counter, there are excellent sandwiches and in near future my own favorite, empanada. The sandwiches are very generous and outside is a pleasant courtyard with tables for lunch. I'm glad to see an assortment of imported preserved meat, and another favorite of mine, Dulce de Leche from Argentina, which is much superior to the few brands made here. So here's to a great reception for Zonda Meats, arriving just in time for summer grilling in my backyard parrilla.

We have been pleased with all of the products we've purchased from Zonda - ribeye steaks, pork chops, bacon, and a variety of sausages. The quality is top notch - tender, flavorful, and worth the drive. (And occasional difficult parking.) I especially want to call out the chicken apple sausage. It actually tastes of apple. So many don't. The staff has always been exceptionally helpful. They're always ready to make recommendations and to help you select the perfect cut of meat. The shop itself is clean and bright.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst café experiences I've had. From the moment I arrived, the service felt off. I was greeted, but also noticeably stared at in a way that felt judgmental and unwelcoming--never a great first impression in a hospitality setting. Their Wi-Fi was down, and the area has very poor cell service, which essentially made it impossible to work. While outages happen, there was no acknowledgment or apology, and it's a major issue for a café that appears to position itself as a place to sit and work. Ordering was another problem. I asked for a matcha latte, and no follow-up questions were asked--no hot or iced, no milk preference. I had to track the barista down myself to clarify. The drink itself was honestly terrible: extremely bitter, grassy, and undrinkable. I left most of it untouched. At nearly $10, it was also the most expensive (and worst) matcha I've ever had. The biggest issue, however, was how payment was handled. Their POS system was down, and I was asked to pay in cash. I didn't have cash, which is normal in 2026. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, I was bluntly told to "sit down" and wait--despite explaining that I had a scheduled meeting and needed to leave. At one point, I was told the only way I could leave was by handing over my credit card information to be written down and kept behind the counter. That is completely inappropriate and unsecured, and I refused. The situation became uncomfortable enough that other customers visibly noticed, and at least one couple left because of how rudely staff were speaking to guests. Eventually, I had to call a friend to bring cash just to resolve a $10 charge, which still took unnecessary time due to confusion between staff. I fully understand that small businesses have bad days. Systems go down. Things happen. But hospitality is about how you handle those moments. There was no apology, no accommodation, and no respect for customers' time or boundaries. I hate leaving negative reviews for local businesses, but I cannot recommend this place in good faith--especially when there are nearby cafés that offer good service, functional systems, Wi-Fi, and basic courtesy.
