This is my first time ever having ordered from this food truck. The staff were very friendly. I got the toastie sandwich. It was enough for two people, the mustard on the side was perfect. An amazing duo discovered at Parker School during Waimea Farmers Market serving authentic Raclette cheese imported from France. We both tried each other's entrees. My husband had the Hawaiian which included raclette cheese, potatoes, Portuguese sausage, and eggs. He raved about his meal! I couldn't resist Raclette Cheesesteak on a hoagie. This is the best cheesesteak I've consumed. Tender rib eye slices with veggies cooked to perfection. Dill pickles and mustard are complimentary. Find a comfy spot. We were ravenous at a farmer's market and saw a tent with that advertised hot cheese (an outpost, I would learn later, of Cheese Please). I needed something robust, and so I got in line. It took some time (20-30) minutes to get the food, but it was worth it. My order consistent of fried potatoes and slices of Italian sausage coated with a deluge of a warm, melted cheese and topped with two eggs (to order, which for me was over easy). It was all made with very high quality ingredients. This was particularly the case for the cheese, toasted and shredded right from the wheel. The sausage was also quite good and had a nice kick to it. My gf's grilled cheese sandwich was also proper and good, but I was already basking the glow of cheese-coma when I tried it, so my impression was that it was less soul-satisfying than was my potato dish. read more

Sorry, this is longer than expected. See way down below for the MEAT and POTATOES for what I thought. We drove out to Hilo yesterday, and unexpectedly found a farmers market and street fair. In the street fair was a couple of food trucks, and this was one of them. I was intrigued, first by the cute little restored 1950's van that (I was told) had once been a newspaper/magazine delivery van, and second by what was going on inside. I consider myself a foodie, and I had never seen anything like this before. Raclette!!! Rack-What??? I had no idea, so I stood and watched. The proprietor had some sort of device that held a half of a cheese wheel under a burner. I dont know if this is something he designed and came up with himself or if he found it in some Swiss town where, I later discovered, is where Raclette comes from. The top of the cheese starts to melt under the burner and he scrapes the melted layer onto the food he's prepared, as a topping or part of the cheesiness of the meal. Right!!! I jumped in line and ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich, which was listed as the special for the day - who knows, maybe its the special everyday, but it sounded good. The young lady - I can say that since I'm officially OAF - Old As F*** - took my order. She was very sweet and friendly. I watched as the proprietor cooked up the thin slices of beef along with onion and peppers and scraped a layer of cheese onto the mixture on the flat top. He toasted a bun, which I thought was super soft and perfectly toasted, put the bun into a paper tray and scooped the cheese steak concoction onto the bun. YUMMMMM!!! I couldn't wait to try it. ***Here's the Meat and Potatoes: So this is what I thought. The bun was soft and perfectly toasted. The beef mixture was perfectly cooked and delicious. The cheese was mild, ooey gooey and perfectly melted and mixed together with the meat. For me personally, I needed to add some heat to the mixture, it was a little bland for me. But they took peoples different tastes into consideration and had a number of different locally sourced hot sauces, and a bottle of the holy grail - SRIRACHA. My daughter and her friend tried the Hawaiian. That was Portuguese sausage and potatoes covered with the melted cheese. It looked amazing , but I didn't get a chance to try it. I turned around (there was a lot to see at the street festival) and when I looked back it was gone! They said they really enjoyed it. read more

I ordered a burger....I was so excited to get this burger with arugula, melted cheese and I even ordered a "Fried Egg HARD" (it's different than a well done egg, the yolk should be busted so that you don't have to eat a lump of yolk) the burger was cooked perfectly but had almost zero seasoning. We had the basic Italian sausage and potato raclette bowl at the farmer's market -- it was SO GOOD. Delicious with several different flavors that all went very together -- you should get all of the fixings (pickles, mustard, green onions) even if they don't seem to make sense. The cheese was gooey and delicious and the potatoes and sausage were perfectly cooked. I am excited to go back and try more of the options. This food truck is legendary! If you ever find yourself in the big island of Hawaii , look them up on Instagram, they are constantly changing spots. There are a few places where you can find them, like uncle roberts farmers market , every Wednesday night or KukuAu studio in Hilo, whenever they have a jazz night ! Owners of the truck is a local couple- some of the nicest people, hardworking, dedicated, they restored their old rusty truck into this gorgeous beauty basically themselves, ordered the best equipment from Europe , so as the cheese , so now you can enjoy the best Swiss alpine Raclette in Hawaii!
