OMG!! I love this little place! Please, please, please check this place out. It is a gem that is hiding in a strip mall on MacDill. I've attended 2 cheese / wine tasting events here and I'm in love (we had bubbling wine at the last one...oh so glam!). You can set it up on their website or call and make reservations. It would make a very fun special date and it is also amazing as a group night out (GNO!!). Michael and Carlos are extra entertaining as they describe both the wine and the cheese and then the cheese again with a jelly/paste/etc. They serve plenty of wine and cheese. They do not skimp. They are very knowledgeable about the cheese and where/how it is produced and Michael tells the greatest stories. Be prepared to want to leave with a little something of what you've tried. I adore the wafers they serve the cheese upon. This last tasting I purchased a Spanish Goat cheese - "Capracho de Cabra" a silky, creamy cheese that was paired with a Jalapeno pepper jelly. I'm excited to serve it this weekend to guests. (I'm sure they will be impressed by my elegant spread. I can't wait to go to another tasting. This place is great! The selection of cheeses is second to none, and they have every style to satisfy what you're craving. Cheddar or blue, mild or spicy, creamy or earthy, goat or cow. Plus the happy hour special ($5 house wines) is a pretty good deal. If you want to swing by, I'd strontly recommend planning a tasting party. I've been to 3 of them and had a blast every time. Michael and Carlos are wonderful hosts that really bring the party to life. And for a reasonable price, you can try 8-10 different cheeses, all paired with different types of wines and different flavored jellies. When it's all said and done, you can buy a block and a bottle to take home with you. I strongly suggest trying the Big John, Tickler, black truffle pecorino, wasabi goat, and cheddar horseradish. read more

I explained a dish I was planning on making, and got some incredible advice from a gentleman at the front. A delicious gouda was recommended, and it was truly the most delicious pairing. I can only speak to the cheese buying experience here, but it is absolutely the best in Tampa. Just look past the cheese-y (get it?) name and the horribly chosen font and the ugly colored sign. Step inside and find a sophisticated, relatively well stocked cheese store with all the accouterments you need if you want anything from an entire cheese course, to just a really great cheese. Every cheese, and there are plenty of options, has a card telling you about the cheese and what to expect if you choose it, which is much more helpful than most stores. My favorite cheese which they seem to always have is the Truffled Pecorino, but I always buy two or three new cheeses to try for the first time whenever I go there. There's also a whole wall of crackers and other things that you can serve with your cheese, which is always great because I never seem to have as many crackers as I think I do (someone in my house must be eating the plain crackers during the night). The service has always been wonderful every time I've visited there, they always ask if I need help or advice, and they greet me with a smile whenever I come in. Can't really imagine going anywhere else in Tampa for cheese at this point. Hope you give it a try! read more

Cheese Please is located in the same store as Clooney's Wine Bar on South MacDill Avenue. Don't let the strip bar location fool you, there is a lot of personality tucked into a small space! This is a fun place and would have received 5 stars except for the volume level in the back room - its really a must do!! Enter into the front store area where you can take away your favorite cheeses, wines and beer from the tasting events. Next you walk through the full bar area and into the back seating area for your tasting and pairings experience. This room is long and narrow with plenty of seating. It can get very loud if full. Once the pairings event starts, you will be presented with a menu of the cheeses, toppings and beers or wines that will be served during the evening. The hosts' knowledge of the history, process and flavorings of the offerings makes the evening fun and interesting. For each offering you are provided a chosen beer or wine and the cheese on a slice of baguette then that is followed by the same cheese and bread with the accompanying topping so you can see how the flavors mix and mingle. Some compliment, others contrast with your beverage to interesting effect. There are 6-8 pairings so the evening takes about 2 hours or so. Although the offerings do not constitute dinner, you will like feel full after the many bread and cheese bites you consume. If not, they do offer a menu of meats trays, interesting grill cheese combinations and other choices that you can enjoy with your pairings if you like. During the pairings events, you will try and find you like interesting combinations - even if you do not care for all of the included ingredients so go with an adventurous attitude and have fun! OMCHEESE. I have been wanting to come to Cheese Please for quite a while and then finally planned a night out for cheese and wine. Holy moly, this place is the best. We went for the Friday evening wine and cheese tasting. It was an Easter and Spring wine and cheese tasting the night we went and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The owners took the time to explain all of the cheeses and wines and this really made for a nice time. The wine was poured often and the cheese was straight up delicious. We went to the bar and hung out after our tasting and I honestly must say that I can't wait to come back and sample even more of their lovely selection. Cheeses from everywhere -whole milk, aged, sheep, goat & cows milk versions... delicious. Every Friday night is a wine & cheese mixer, and they send out a weekly email with updates and cheese info. What's not to love about this place. It's so unique and the cheeses are delicious. Before this place, wine and cheese made up about 2% of my appetite. Now it's about 20%. I get the monthly cheese basket and buy a few more cheeses and jellies from them after I devour the basket. The wine jellies are key if you are new to cheeses. I am in love with the Chardonnay wine jelly. The wine flows at the tastings, so be mindful of that if you register for one of those, which I highly recommend if you want a unique experience to Tampa, need to take a group of people, or a need a place to take your loved one on a date night. read more

So, we wondered a few doors down and found Cheese Please. The space is long and narrow with a special tasting room way in the back. The front porch and has a small takeaway shop. This is probably one of my new favorite stores. I love cheese, doesn't matter what kind, and this store has one of the best selections I have ever seen. All of these cheeses are in different fridges based upon type of cheese and location. Possibly the best part of going to Cheese Please is that they offer samples of every cheese they sell. The selection of condiments to put on the cheeses are great. They have everything from pear jam, up to beer and wine jams to spread on your cheese. They also have a great selection of cheese accessories like cutting boards available. The employees here are great and always go out of their way to help you. They have recommendations on what cheese to try, what to pair it with, and have made the experience that much more enjoyable. The store also offers cheese and wine tasting events on select fridays and saturdays. I have not gotten to try one out yet, but you can be assured it is on my list. As far as the cheese quality goes, it is above and beyond any cheese that I have bought at the supermarket or even at local butcher shops. I highly recommend this store to anyone who is as obsessed about cheese as I am. You will not be dissappointed read more

We dived into all of it as soon as we got home and will be hitting it again (only the cheese tho, since it's only 8 am!) as soon as I'm done writing this review.
