Not all is lost, though, as they're conjoining with kippered down the street. I'm not sure if the sandwiches will survive the merger but I hope they do. However, I'm happy I got to visit twice and am happy that their sister spot Kippered will still live on. This place sold a variety of items including cheese, cured meats, tinned fish, and other foods. I found the service to be approachable and welcoming, and it was nice to have a relaxed place to have a meal that was also close to Grand Central Market. During my first visit, I tried their breakfast/brunch menu and was impressed by their pancakes with their thin and crispy texture. The pancakes were so good, I knew that I had to try them again before the shop closed. Now that the market has closed, I am hoping that some of their food menu items will show up at Kippered.

There is a sandwich counter with premade offerings that vary somewhat from day to day. I understand that I could've preordered cheese plate and so you can bet I'll do that next time! The shop is small and sort of dark, but the counter is lovely and has great offerings. There are a few tables outside with tiny stools (they do not cater to the Sir-Mix-A-lot crowd!) and a tapered bench next to the window. I think I'll pick up and eat at home next time.

It was real good. I liked its flavor although I wish it had more ham in it. The bread was a little tough the lady said. It was at the end of their day and the last one left. Maybe that had something to do with it. Nevertheless, I liked it. I love a simple but flavorful French baguette sandwich and this was a good one with 3 quality ingredients plus the bread. I believe this was $10. I hope to check Milkfarm out for all their other offerings. We plan on doing that together soon. Street parking only. Metered out front. Some free but timed parking on the side streets. Check the signs.

I'm a huge cheese lover and order cheeseboards regularly, so I was excited to try theirs. It was fine, but nothing memorable. The cheeses were good quality, but I've had boards at other places that were much more impressive taste-wise. Beautiful presentation though. The rest of the food was decent too. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. It's been a few weeks, but I couldn't really tell you what we ordered without looking at my pictures. I'd stop by again if I were in the area, especially to browse the shop, but I wouldn't consider the restaurant a must stop.

The shop smells so funky from all of the cheeses and different items they carry but it's not terrible. A little small but easy to navigate through. I wasn't expecting much as I'm not what you call a cheese connoisseur, but let me tell you.. this store SLAPS! The team at this store is very friendly and knowledgeable, we tried several samples and everything is top notch. We ended up swooping 4 different aged cheeses (so good you could eat them by themselves as treats) but the highlight of the day for me was the sandwich I had! I didn't know they serve sandwiches, and I ordered a ribeye, havarti, horseradish sandwich on ciabatta. This sandwich is the best sandwich I ever had in my life, this is no exaggeration, it is very simple but all the ingredients are high quality and executed perfectly. Although Beverly Hills is a long drive from where I'm from, I will be a returning customer for both cheese and sandwiches!

SERVICE: i came in a bit before 5pm and the place was open but totally empty. no workers in sight, so i just put in my order on the kiosk. i expected some kind of notification for someone working but the receipt just printed and still nobody came out. worried my 15 minutes of free parking was going to end before i got my food i yelled out "excuse me!" and finally an girl comes out of the back. doesn't say a word or acknowledge me at all, so i start to offer a sorry and explain that i just wanted to make sure someone was there, but quickly realize im going to be ignored. when she's done, she plops my bag of my food on the table, says "here you go" and walks into the back again. FOOD: drove to where i was staying a few minutes away and i was surprised to find out it was completely cold. please correct me if im wrong but i had assumed at least the bread would be warm?? it was fine since i was able to stick it in the toaster for a bit and it ended up being pretty good! overall a fairly (for LA) priced lunch. BACK TO SERVCE: however based on my experience and the other recent reviews i truly don't understand what is going on with the people who work here. is everyone okay???? atp im truly concerned as to why all the workers seem to be miserable... its also an insane contrast in attitude from the parking attendant who was working outside. he was the nicest guy ever and i truly think the owner of this place should consider hiring him instead. i guarantee it would make a huge difference.

It was pretty quiet, yet we were barely greeted by the staff. To make matters worse, another patron was changing their 2-year-old's diaper right there on the patio. It was completely "butt baked" and extremely unappetizing while trying to eat. Food we ordered : * Pâté Sandwich: The pâté itself was actually good, but it was ruined by a ton of mustard. I had to scrape it off just to eat it as the mustard completely overpowered the sandwich. * Salmon Sandwich: Very bland and lacked flavor. Side sales were bland. We had to ask for extra dressing. * Iced Coffee: There was something "weird" floating in my coffee. Between the hygiene issues on the patio, and the mediocre food, I won't be back. We came in on a Saturday and was unable to find street parking so as others advised, I had my friend watch the car and drive around as I made my way to the shop. The shop was so cute, it's small but with everything you'd need for a cheese and meat party including breads, canned additions/fish, and wines! I grabbed a fresh loaf of baguette to add to the order. Both trays were ready and absolutely fresh. The honorable cheesemongers overlooking shop were very nice and helpful! One female worker was providing samples for a gentleman when he asked for recommendations and my cheesemonger asked what kind of cheese texture I generally liked and offered to give me a cheese from three different animals, which I thought was absolutely awesome! She even offered to help me carry my trays out. The veggie tray was awesome, a great size, half pickled half not pickled, the dips were both amazing! We got the green goddess and Calabrian chili aioli and both were such a hit at our get together. The peppers are slightly spicy and were so delicious. We loved the variety of cheese and did not have a single cheese we didn't like. The petite toasts with the meat and cheese board is a must! So good and crispy and a perfect size for a bite. The trays were really sturdy and we appreciated the care put into the layout. We'll definitely be back Oh La Vache!
