This is what I ordered... all delicious!

This place is awesome. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name who helped me, but he was accommodating, friendly, and knew his products. I went in there, told him what I liked and he let me try several cheeses, every single one was a winner. I walked out of there with three amazing cheeses, a sopressata, some olives, and some wonderful bread. My charcuterie tray was on point! Everyone enjoyed what I brought home. It was perfect! Next time we're in Champaign I'll be sure to visit Cheese and Crackers for sure!

Picked up fresh mozzarella, some Colby and Parmesan.

If you're a home chef, you'll love this place. It's so much more than cheese or crackers. They have some choice meets, chocolates and some packaged goods. They also have a sign-up for fresh fish that is flown into Chicago and immediately trucked down. There is also a list of fresh fish that they have available. Bart is a cornucopia of knowledge with everything in the store, and can even describe exactly what will happen under different cooking conditions with the cheeses. He loves talking with the customers and getting to know them. Clearly the guy likes his job, and it shows. I was surprised not to see a huge mark-up on the cheese prices. They are high quality. And I was also very happy to get fresh mozzarella instead of something packaged up from one of the local groceries. And root beer - there are so many choices. That alone makes me happy.

So much cheese!!!! Good selection, lots of cheese I've never heard of some international imports and a few local cheese too. Loved that they offered samples of everything. Ended up getting some small cuts of cheese and some Serrano ham. My overall favorite is the five year aged cheddar. Oh and wash it down with some Kitty Piddle soda. Good customer service, I will have to go back and try the chocolates some time soon.

Restaurant review This is sort of a hybrid restaurant/store review. I've been meaning to visit this place for a long time after seeing the review of the day. It's a very small deli shop that also makes fresh sandwiches. I was surprised by the selection of cheese that they had. The menu is rather limited with only a few sandwiches. They do prepare these fresh on the spot. The price of the sandwich is about $6-$7. I had the Italian sandwich which is similar to the one at to Jimmy John's. It does come on a baguette. It was good but for the price paid I thought there would be more meat. In terms of their store, they have a large selection of cheese and you can sample some for free. They had a small display case for chocolates which seem quite pricey. Also there's a limited selection of fresh fish, but the prices close to $20 a pound. For seating there is one small table inside and a few outside, but you're likely to take your sandwich to go. For me this is a one-time experience. Pros: Large selection of cheeses, high-end meat cuts Cons: Very expensive, small parking lot Hidden deals: Free samples of various cheeses on the counter daily Health code rating: A. Very clean and well maintained. http://champaign.il.gegov.com/champaign/estab.cfm?facilityID=1501

Definitely very Asian bakery with lighter flavor profile. The okara cake was a very interesting…read moreconcept. I've made stuff with okara before and like the particular flavor and texture-- it feels drier and denser because of the soy pulp, but it's something I like. I also like how not too sweet everything is. Their miso salted caramel tart was also good, I also like that they sell day-old stuff with half price. I can get behind the concept and the intention behind how this bakery is ran. Very excited to have discovered this on our trip to visit uiuc. Would've loved to try their sencha, hojicha, and genmaicha next time!

I'm normally a huge fan of this bakery as the quality of the bakes are pretty good so we come here…read moreoften as you can see in my previous review. However, a few weeks ago, (6/6/26) I had a disappointing experience with a staff member there while picking up an online cake order. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.

Yes, this shop is cute. Yes, the proprietors are very nice and it's great to support local…read morebusinesses. But the best reason to shop here if you are a tea lover like me is that their tea selection is incredibly cheap. Other reviewers have not emphasized the price aspect of things enough, so here are some numbers: Regular black teas cost around $1.00/oz (~$0.10/cup). Given that there is no minimum purchase (you bag your own tea in whatever quantity you desire), you can go in, buy 1-2 oz. of several different teas that catch your eye, and then come back later to buy your favorites in larger quantities. Decaf teas are maybe twice as expensive - not as great of a bargain, but not too bad. Of course you can splurge on silver needle white if that's your thing, but that's not the main attraction here. It seems they get quite a few teas from Market Spice in Seattle, which means you can buy the famous Market Spice cinnamon-orange blend in bulk and then brew it so strong it makes your house smell like cinnamon Red Hots. Or you can get Tropical Isle, a black tea beautifully colored with blue cornflowers and yellow calendula leaves that tastes as good as it looks (and makes a great present). Or get the Earl Grey, or the Assam, or jasmine or rooibos or... the list goes on. Come here. Buy some tea at a small fraction of the price you'd pay in the cafes just down the street. And be thankful that a store like this exists in C-U.

The service was quick and friendly, the barista described the options available and had good recommendations! Good study space with WiFi, bathrooms, and a water fountain around the corner. Just be prepared to wear a jacket on either end of the cafe near the doors, can get windy upon opening! Thai Tea Caramel Canelé {5/5}: The best canelé I've ever had (okay, I admit, I've only had maybe 6 in my life). Great caramel and good Thai tea flavor. The texture was AMAZING with a nice slight crisp and chewy outside and almost custard-like inside. I got 2 more before I left Green Onion Kouign-Amann {4/5}: A caramel shell outside of this very flakey pastry that I had plenty of green onions mixed within the dough. It was a great play on sweet and salty flavors with delicious flakey layers Jade Cloud {3/5}: Peach oolong tea with matcha cold foam. Just a personal preference thing, but the flavor combination of peach, oolong, and matcha was not my favorite. I can see how someone who likes this flavor profile would find this drink refreshing!
