I had no idea how much work and how difficult planning a wedding could be but Michelle sent me checklist after checklist to keep me organized and as stress free as a bride could possibly be (there's still stress no matter what...you're getting married let's be real). We had a 200 person wedding out in Montauk and Michelle introduced herself well in advance to all vendors previously even though she did not technically start working for us until the last 6 weeks. She was on top of every detail to make sure that this wedding would be exactly as I had envisioned and it was beyond that in the end. She and her team were completely behind the scenes but if you ever needed anything they would magically appear and help you with any little need. It was incredible. As the bride, I did not need to stress about lost guests, wedding party members, photographers, the band...nothing! She did it all with her team and it made my wedding the dream I am still falling asleep to. Thank you Michelle for everything and I plan on referring you to all my future bride-to-be friends!!

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding, and we are eternally grateful to Kritzie and the…read morewhole team at Unruffled for their extraordinary work to make our big day so special. Our celebration had 100 guests coming to Westchester, NY from all over the world, with a ceremony at the historic Old Dutch Church in Sleepy Hollow and the reception at Windrose-on-Hudson. Featuring a blend of different cultural traditions and fully bilingual events, this wedding had a lot of moving parts! With Unruffled as our Month-Of Coordinators, everything came off perfectly. We had the pleasure of working with both Emily and Kritzie in our planning sessions. Kritzie, Genesis, and Robert took care of us on the big day. The Unruffled team could not have been more thoughtful, patient, accommodating, and attentive. From the welcome questionnaire to the planning meetings to the site visits to the rehearsal to the wedding day itself, they were not only organized and helpful, but a very calming presence. Their deep attention to detail allowed us to trust that everything big and small would get taken care of, and everything indeed came out perfectly. Because Kritzie and Emily really took the time to get to know us, they were able to make many helpful suggestions throughout the planning process (and during the wedding day itself) that perfectly aligned with and complemented our vision for the event. Kritzie did a great job working with our other vendors, including our reception venue, where we were the first wedding they ever held. On the wedding day, Kritzie and Genesis kept everything moving smoothly without being intrusive at all. We were able to really enjoy our wedding because we knew they had everything well in hand. Robert took amazing video of our private Tea Ceremony (before the professional videographer arrived), and was on top of troubleshooting any minor hiccups throughout the day (clutch job quickly fixing the cocktail hour speaker!). Our families, the church, the reception venue, and our vendors also uniformly (and completely unprompted!) told us that Kritzie and the whole team were the best wedding coordinators that they had ever worked with - high praise indeed! We consider ourselves lucky to have worked with Kritzie, Emily, Genesis, and Robert. I can't stop thinking about how spectacular and perfect and fun our wedding was, and that was in no small part due to their help! We are very grateful and cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you!

From the moment I spoke with her, I could tell that she was someone I could trust to make sure that our day was amazing. I am a perfectionist to a fault, and I had very specific ideas and needs for the wedding. I was worried that I wouldn't find someone who could do as good a job as I could with organization, delegation, and accuracy. But she remembered every single detail. She also handled some larger issues - such as helping me with the shuttles. We needed shuttles for 130 people to leave the venue at essentially the same time - and I could not find a 3rd shuttle. She was able to book me an additional coach bus within 4 days of the wedding - that honestly saved the day. I also asked her to come to the florist with us so she could see our 'vision', since it was a bit more than just putting flowers on tables. When I arrived at the venue, I saw that she took our vision and made it even better! She added touches of gold and lights and greenery in places I didn't think to decorate, and it looked amazing. She was with me the entire night, keeping the sleeves of my dress from falling, helping me with eyedrops when I couldn't see, and constantly checking in with our band, maître d', and photographers to make sure everything was running smoothly. She got us through the mid-reception family photos (which I thought would be a disaster time-wise) so quickly, and was truly managing the time for the entire night. All of the vendors raved about her, and said her communication and precision was impeccable - and that she had great improvisation skills for whenever things did go a bit astray. I didn't have to worry about anything the entire evening, and that was the best feeling ever. Veronica is great at what she does - which is making sure your day is amazing. She is professional, great at communication, and she makes you feel safe. You can trust her completely, and know that your day will be in the best hands possible.

My Experience with Happy Planning Events: A Cautionary Review…read more I am writing this to share my honest experience with Tanya from Happy Planning Events, in hopes of helping others avoid the stress and disappointment I went through. My wedding venue was ultimately canceled due to poor communication on Tanya's part and her failure to clearly explain basic contractual terms. As a professional planner, she should have guided me through the process with clarity and transparency--but instead, I was left confused and misinformed. What was promised to be a "stress-free" planning experience turned into the opposite--Tanya created more mess and work for me than she solved. She lacked basic organization and attention to detail, especially on the day of the wedding. Rather than focusing on ensuring my day went smoothly, she appeared more interested in networking with my vendors for her future business than in making sure my event was successful. She failed to keep track of our pre-planned schedule, which led to major moments being missed--including my father-daughter dance and bouquet toss. Throughout the night, she seemed more concerned about eating and staying in the air-conditioned venue than checking in with me or my husband or making sure the timeline was on track. From the beginning, Tanya made promises she didn't deliver on. I hired her as a day-of coordinator six months before the wedding. While I only paid for day-of services, she insisted on helping earlier in the process--which I initially appreciated, since this was my first wedding. However, within just two months of giving her contact information to my venue, she had already caused enough frustration with the property manager that I had to step in myself. By that point, the damage was done--he canceled our contract two months before the wedding. Thankfully, I was able to find another venue, but even then, Tanya again managed to upset the new property manager. Multiple vendors and both venue managers told me the same thing: "Your planner is very unprofessional and doesn't understand the basics of wedding planning." Despite their warnings, I held onto hope that she would follow through on the day of. Sadly, she didn't. When it came to execution, there was no flow. As the officiant, she failed to ask the DJ for a microphone (which was readily available), resulting in guests not being able to hear the ceremony. She also forgot to ask guests to stand when I walked down the aisle--something we specifically discussed in advance. A guest had to step in and call it out. Tanya is what I would call a "yes" planner--quick to agree, but slow (or unable) to follow through. I constantly had to remind her of things and even suggest solutions myself. Her behavior lacked professionalism at every turn, and she did not have the knowledge or presence of a competent wedding coordinator. What's more, Tanya was seen vaping in front of my guests--completely unprofessional and inappropriate. When she finally did get on the microphone, instead of sharing important timeline information, she spent her time talking about moving cars--something that could've easily been handled off-mic and by someone else. In the end, my experience with Happy Planning Events was full of broken promises and unnecessary stress. Tanya appeared more focused on building vendor relationships than prioritizing her client's experience or staying within budget. I strongly urge anyone looking for a true professional to look elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the branding--this service has a long way to go before it lives up to the name.

The food was exactly what I asked for, down to the last dish -- not one item was missed. The theme and color palette were spot on and came together beautifully. It truly looked like something out of a storybook! What impressed me the most was how hands-on Tanya was throughout the entire process. She found my venue, secured and coordinated with all my vendors, and made sure everything stayed on track without me having to lift a finger. She communicated every step of the way, which made me feel so supported and at ease. On top of that, Tanya designed the most beautiful invitations and stayed in touch with my guests to handle RSVPs and confirm attendance. That level of care and professionalism is so rare to find. Tanya brought my vision to life in every way possible. I felt celebrated, stress-free, and truly seen throughout the whole experience. There's a lot I want to say about Jade, but it is hard to describe what Jade has done for me. I'll…read morestart by saying that Jade is an excellent, genuine, sincere and honest person. For a wedding officiant or emcee, these are essential qualities you must look out for! This review is not for her emcee and officiant services. Unfortunately, I decided at the last minute to hire an emcee, and Jade was unavailable. I wanted to hire her for many reasons, but the main one being she knows Toisan (and probably Hoiping), in addition to Cantonese and English. My maternal grandparents speak a mixture of Toisan and Hoiping. I should also add that I live in Toronto, and she lives in New York; she tried her best to make it work despite having a conflict that day. Again, I need to highlight the type of person she is: she is one full of love and compassion. Jade is one of the reasons I hired a Chinese-speaking emcee for my wedding. This decision came from her YouTube videos, inspiring me to connect with my heritage and learn Cantonese in the first place. This decision made my wedding so special! My dad's sister's and my in-laws are immigrants from Hong Kong who know little, if any, English. This made the night of my wedding super special, as it ensured everyone felt included. Now, I want to review the tangible service she provided for me. On Wednesday afternoon, just a few days before my wedding, I decided to have parts of my welcome speech in Cantonese. I also wanted to have parts of my vows in Cantonese. To accomplish this, I needed someone who could understand the passion I wanted to put into my speech. I also needed someone who knew Jyutping, was fluent in English, and had the availability to help me practice before the wedding. Jade pulled it off! She was able to translate my very emotional speech into Jyutping quickly. Jade also spent almost 2 hours helping me understand the translations and coaching me on my pronunciation. She also recorded two audio recordings for me: one for my vows and another for my welcome speech. I should add - I only began my Cantonese learning journey two months ago after Jade inspired me! I took a beginner course offered by her school, in addition to having a private tutor. The fact that I could have parts of my speech in Cantonese directed to my aunts, grandparents and in-laws was quite impressive. And it is all because of Jade. Because of Jade's video, where she talked about her fear of losing her language and heritage, she changed me. It inspired me! It has helped me create a fantastic bond with my mother-in-law, grandparents, and now my aunties. Thank you, Jade, for inspiring me and making my wedding night super special. Your passion and your willingness to help me with such a tight timeline show what a great person you are. You've changed my life in such a positive way. Everyone, I highly recommend Jade. Even though I didn't get to use her emcee and officiant service directly, she was one of the reasons my wedding night was a beautiful event. Thank you again, Jade!!!!!
