There is street parking that was easily accessible to the front of the gated park entrance. The wooden playground was large and had 2 sections for bigger kids & smaller kids. The wooden train was unique and many kids enjoyed exploring it. There weren't as many picnic tables. I didn't see any bathrooms. Our kids had a lot of fun and I especially appreciated the fenced in park to keep the kids safe. It's close to many shops like Cloud 9 creamery and Common Bond. I definitely plan to come back again.

I LOVE Memorial Park!!! I started running back in 2019 and this quickly became my go-to spot for my…read moreweekly runs. The running trail is roughly 3 miles and it's a LOOP! Plus, it doesn't cut through any roads (so no stopping at traffic lights or fear of getting hit by a car) AND bikes are not allowed!! This makes it the perfect place for runners to get lost in their thoughts while getting 3 miles in - at least, that's what I like to do. Haha! Recently, they did a bunch of restoration work and have opened up a cute little pond area along with more trails to explore. These are great for walking and getting to enjoy nature without having to leave the city. Additionally, they've added a LOT more parking which is nice, however it's not free. Even the old lot that I always used to park at (the parking lot located in front of the outdoor pool) now requires you to pay. To avoid this, you can park at the lot next to the baseball fields (what I usually do), but it's almost always full. You can also park at the church behind the fields, just as long as they're not having a service at that time. The tennis courts also have some parking, but that's also usually full. If you're brave enough, you can try to parallel park on some of the streets that go through the park.... But I find that to be pretty risky with all the constant movement occurring everywhere. If you're looking to enjoy some nature without having to drive super far, definitely consider coming out here! Bring some friends, a picnic or go for a walk/run. There's something for everyone here!

Granted, you would probably be exhausted at the zoo unless you put a timer on like I do, so that we don't all have meltdowns, but I digress. But I am really happy to come across this play area. Was it weird walking up and down the rolling hills of the playground with a stroller? Absolutely. But would I do it again? Absolutely. I really love how they had a rubber ground for the patrons to walk on because I'm really sick of the wood chips. I'm not sure who started putting shards of wood under our children when they play, but I'm over it. We came here on one of the handful of nice weather days weekend down here in Houston. I'm not sure how hot the playground would be during the summer, because a lot of the material here is metal, but I would definitely check it out again!

This park on Eastside Street is such a wonderful place to have in Houston. It offers plenty of room…read moreand amenities, including a dog park, an activity lawn, promenade, a children's park, pavilion, and an event lawn, plus restaurants nearby. With street parking in the surrounding area and clearly marked parking areas for the park itself, it's a pleasure to visit. As an added safety feature, they've got security that actively make rounds in the park and by the parking areas monitoring. There are plenty of tables at this park as well as areas for play. Stumble upon their games cart with a rotating supply of board games and strategy games to have some fun with friends or the kids, the art cart with some crafty supplies and the reading room which holds some books and magazines to borrow. They take donations too so you can reach out to them if so desired! The park is clean for what it is, and some areas have device charging stations along with free wifi. Their website also has a calendar of events to check out.

3.5 stars Cool place…read moreto hangout, but dang, why the metal slides in Houston? We went on a cloudy, cooler day (high of 81) in March, but the slides were still too hot. There is some shade provide by the canopies but definitely not enough. The bottom of the slides were still hit by the sun, and they're hot enough to burn you. I don't even wana think about in the middle of summer when Houston gets up to 100 degrees. My 2.5 yo enjoyed the playground otherwise. It was just too hot to enjoy all the things. She did really enjoy the water part and the sand. (We brought her swimming shirt and shorts, and she just walked in the sand and water barefoot. Surprisingly the concrete sidewalks didnt feel hot.) I stayed very close to her as she walked around the metal platforms (i could see this as being super dangerous, especially if crowded). The individual family restrooms are on the water side btw. The park side does not have changing tables in the restrooms. We saw some swings nearby, but there was no shade whatsoever (trees, canopies), which is a bummer bc she loves swings. Carousel is closeby. $3/ride or $6 all day. Parking is a bit further. We found free parking near the roundabout (Googlemaps: Parking man (Free parking)). We went around lunch on a Monday so there was a handful of empty spots, however on a weekend, forget about it. I absolutely hate driving down here. We walked through the Japanese Garden (recommend) since it's on the way to the playground.

I was with my son (3 years old) so I didn't feel like I was unwanted or in an area I shouldn't be. The houses around the park are massive and beautiful! Just sitting in that park watching your kid play and checking out the houses around me kind of gave me some motivation to maybe do better for myself. Weird thought lol, but I recommend just taking your kids there to play.

I have an 11 month old and it was pretty perfect for him. Artificial grass areas for him to play on with a small hill. Swings for little ones too. He had a ball. Lots of play structures, spinners, climbing, swings, most of the area is wood chipped. Nice coveted area to have a gathering - birthday, etc. The area is completely gated for safety. Parking on opposite sides of the street, don't park directly on park side. Don't block driveways.
