Have visited about 10 times since opened in Vienna, Wv. It's been over a yr since last visit because of my experience the last couple. I had found a black hair cooked into the green beans & waitress made no attempt to offer resolution. I could not eat the dinner afterwards but still charged. The last time I visited I ordered the Homestyle breaded chicken. I cut into it & it was completely undercooked.Disgusting! Manager could not believe it but she at least took it off my bill. Atmosphere and decor is nice and clean. Food is priced well. Portions are large. Service is normally adequate. However, Be warned My Fitness Pal users and fellow calorie counters, NO nutritional information is available on apps or on their own website. Either laziness or are they hiding just how bad their food is for you? Cheddar's is always great food but their service is typically terrible and your lucky if your server comes by your table more than twice. However this past weekend we were lucky enough to get Jeff who was fantastic all the way around. He was friendly, great with our kids, kept our drinks filled, and most importantly he was present and we didn't have to flag him down a single time. Jeff provides us with the best dining experience we have had in years and we will be sure to request Jeff's section at our next visit. First negative review I've ever written. Just avoid this place unless you want to wait FOREVER for average food. The last 3 times we've been there, we've waited nearly an hour for food and it wasn't very busy at all. The last time we had to keep our toddler entertained for nearly 50 minutes before his food came. He was really well behaved, but it was irritating that other tables received their orders before us even though we were seated several minutes earlier. There were 4 of us with simple uncomplicated orders. We were polite and patient, yet were overlooked and given terrible service. Even when we got our food, some of the food was incorrect and becoming cold/soggy. Yet we tried to smile and make the best of it. Our waiter refilled our water during the the entire visit and did not check on our needs at any point. The two visits before were similar, unfortunately. That's the last chance we gave. Just avoid this crap show of a restaurant. 2 stars instead of 1 because the food could've been much worse. read more

An OK place to eat if you can get clean glasses and silverware. Food is hit and miss. Used to have nice juicy chicken tenders. Now they look like chicken nuggets and are dried out. They took some good items off the menu like fish tacos and chicken and waffles. read more

This place stinks! Food acceptable, service beyond lousy. We first when there about 2 months after they opened. It took over 1 hour to get our food. We spoke with the Mgr and he said, "...sometimes things are slow when we are busy!" Not apologetic or concerned. Our food was cold and not so tasty. The next time we went about 10/12 the server didn't bring our beverages. My wife asked for them again and the server argued with her. She brought our food and we never saw the server again. Had to ask the manager for our check and she also was not apologetic or concerned with our bad experience. Not worth the headache for mediocre food!!! read more

Visited on a Wednesday around 5:00. Seated right away. Waitress was friendly and prompt. I had the Key West Chicken and Shrimp. My wife the Tilapia Mango w/shrimp. Both were exceptional. Upon my first visit not long after opening, I was disgusted and furious. Our food had been sent back multiple times, was undercooked and was met with rudeness from their staff and we eventually left. After some time, I was talked into goin back and I'm glad I did. This place has done a complete 180*. The food is exactly what you would expect it should be and then some. I am very impressed by how much of a comeback they have made. The staff and service are excellent. The enviroment is also nicer than what it was when they first opened for business. Normally I am a big Cheddar's fan. I love the good size portions, and reasonable prices. That said my last experience at Cheddars was terrible. Our server took our drink order and appetizer order. The appetizer was brought and eaten before we found our server again to flag him down and asked him take our meal order (we are over 30 mins at the table already), another 20+ mins. after he took our orders he came back to the table to tell us he lost our order and needed to take it again. Well, this place is hit or miss and today was a HUGE miss! We got seated at a dirty table; I asked the server to clean it and she swiped it with a dry towel. She placed our drinks on napkins that stuck to the table when we picked up our glasses. I pointed out to her how dirty the table was and she moved us....right next to the NOISY door to the patio. The window sill was dusty and was home to 5-6 dead flies and one mosquito. The onion rings (which are usually good) came to use overcooked and barely warm. Out of two whole meals, the only item that was hot was my husband's salmon; everything else was tepid to cold. Shelby (server) never bothered to check on us once during our meal. She looked like she wished she was anywhere else; not a great look for someone who is in customer service. I wish I had gone with my first choice, DaVinci's in Williamstown! read more

Food is excellent. And Not expensive. It's like Outback in quality with Shoneys prices. There drinks are not cheap but their drinks are exceptional also. Have been to Cheddar's a few time. The salads and sandwiches are good, but the service was terrible. -5:30 Had to wait on a hostess to seat us at least 3 or 4 minutes and there weren't very many people in the restaurant -5:40 Took at least 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table to get drink order. Two sweet teas and a water. She came back about 5 minutes later. -5:45 Dropped off drinks, we were ready to order but she went over to another waitress and had a conversation -5:50 Comes back and takes our order -6:00 Side Salad Arrives from somebody else -6:15 first time the waitress comes back to our table after taking our order. Brings back Cokes instead of teas -6:35 meals arrive by another waiter. Food is so good. Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Hawaiian Chicken Salad and Shepard's Pie. -6:40 Waitress comes back to the table and checks on the food, and when we tell her that she brought the wrong drinks, she rolls her eye, says something under her breath -6:45 comes back to table with correct drink -6:50-6:55 waitress flirts with busboy at table beside us. They are busy making plans for after work -7:15 she comes back and drops off the bill -7:30 finally collects the bill -7:35 gives us back credit card slip and no goodbye. Came in during dinner time. Was seated rather promptly. Server was polite and took drink order and then dinner order rather fast as well. Took a good bit of a wait before we got our salad. There was a long wait before we received our meals as well. Dinner tasted good and was a improvement since our last visit,(2 years ago). The tilapia with mango salsa was excellent as well as the chicken tenders platter. Had dinner with my family today. Food was very good and fresh tasting. Nice bright atmosphere. Service was basic. Something I have had happen more than once in Parkersburg...dinner came with the appetizers coming later. The point of an appetizer is to bring it out, and let the customer finish before dinner is served! Dinner was brought out by two and the waitress accompanied them...they quickly sat the food down and left without asking if everything was OK, or if we needed anything else?! They were not even busy! Was in town to visit a friend so we chose Cheddar's because I like the one at home. The service and food was good, but the cleanliness left much to be desired. The table next to us was empty but the dirty dishes and floor weren't touched during our entire meal. The tables near us weren't cleaned either when the customers left. My husband and I went in about 230. We were seated promptly and our orders taken. Took a while for our food but I don't mind waiting if the food is good. Food wasn't hot but not cold. Started eating and about half way through my mashed potatoes I found a large chunk of something black. Thought at first it was a piece of steak but after cutting it in half, it wasn't steak. it was kind of slimy around the edges.Don't know what it was. I informed the waitress, who then informed the manager. The manager told me sometimes they get potatoes that have "bad" spots in them, or I may say rotten spots. Then went on to inform me that if I had eaten it that it would not have hurt me. She was "kind" enough to take $8 off my bill.
