Tonight we had Dunner at Cheddar's in Parkersburg to celebrate Joshua Hunt 40th Birthday. The restaurant was lovely and we were all excited to have dinner there with Josh. Josh ordered the Cheddars Painkiller Drink with pineapple and Coconut Rum...boy I could smell the rum in that drink. They only allow 2 per customer!! We ordered the Cheddars Trio Appettizer with Spinach Dip and Salsa both served with chips and extremely large Chicken Tenders with Ranch to dip!! Joshua ordered a Medium Rare Sirlion with Mushrooms and Garlic Butter with sides of Cheese Mac Mashed Potatoes and Corn! Kayla Beth Fields chose the Creamy Garlic Tilipa with Shrimp over Rice with Broccoli & Corn. The Creamy Garlic was like an Alfredo Sauce. Deacon had the Alfredo Penne with Garlic Toast and I had the Blackened Grill Whitefish over Rice with Broccoli & Carrots. Our food was AMAZING!!! Our waiter Aaron was so nice and attentive! He came back many times to check on us and refill drinks! If you go there to dine, ask to be seated in Aaron's section! He does not disappoint nor disappear!! Definitely going back! I had the salmon and rice and broccoli, my food was delicious and hot, the rice was done well. My server was named Rah, I think I spelled that right. He was a lovely young man. He never let our drinks get low, tried to upsell us, as a retired waitress he did everything a server is suppose to do and did it with a smile on his face. I don't want to blast this place. But the wait for even your drinks, let alone your food is not good. Now to be fair, my son loves this place. And it pains me to say I won't take him because of the experiences I have had. I did have a decent burger there once. But I have had staff get flippy with me when I have had to send food back when it wasn't how I ordered. I am always polite, but I do want my food to be close to what I ask.... ie.... Steak being rare or mid not raw or well done. I like my salmon to be not dry. Staffing seems off as they seem well staffed, but it's hard to get your own server to refill drinks. I do love the aesthetics and the fish tank. It's just hard to speak highly after multiple issues. But.... I did like the burger I had. read more

I've eaten here a few times over the years and the food has always been just okay at best, but I like the decor and how spacious it is. I've always enjoyed their salads and their rolls, but the rest of their food always just tastes like it's been prepackaged and heated up. I've even hosted a birthday party and a graduation party here. Since then, I moved from the area, but come back from time to time since I still have family that live around there. The last time my husband and I ate here, he found a hair in his food that was clearly not his. We did bring it to our waitress' attention who basically said she would get him another one...no apology...nothing. He did not want another sandwich where another hair could be lurking! His stomach was already upset just thinking about it. She brought the bill and offered no discount, even though the majority of his food was left uneaten, didn't offer to get a manager. We left and will NEVER return again! That's just nasty! Once we've found a hair, we assume that proper protocols for cooking in the back are not being utilized and it just turns us off from ever eating at that restaurant again. They were cold and four of them look like they were dropped in macaroni and cheese or they weren't done I could not tell because they were such a slimy mess! This place was amazing when it first opened but has gone downhill a little bit since then. Most of the time when I come here it is fairly quick to get in and seated. The waiters take a little longer than most places though to come to the table and take orders. Also, not sure why this place has such a massive parking lot dedicated to it. Beyond disappointing. Went to the restaurant at 5:45pm (2 people) and ask for a patio table. We were told they needed to wait on the busser to arrive before we could be seated even though they had 4 empty tables. We said that was fine and would wait at the bar until our table was ready. We watched 2 large groups (6+ people) show up after us, yet be seated ahead of us on the patio (now 7:20pm). After not even getting drinks refilled at the bar we decided to pay and leave. I've ate here quite a few times and hope and expect the food to be better every time and it never is. The servers don't make you a priority and I never get my food at the appropriate time. The appetizers always take like 15 mins refills are never quick, I've only had great service by Hannah (she did a wonderful job) but overall I can't rate this place well. We got seated very quickly, however it took a long time for drinks to show up and I was having heatstroke and I had to go pee a lot. I thought this was a great place to eat. Good prices for really good food. Can't say that about many places, especially chains. Great service and fengshui of the seating area is really nice. You just want to relax and indulge in the goods. Anything grilled chicken is a great choice. Good selection of spirits and not all that costly. This place is absolutely gorgeous to see. It has the most inviting atmosphere from the street view and is just wonderful to set in and admire. The menu has a good selection and the food is as good as expected. It's just the best looking restaurant in this entire town, to the point it doesn't even look like it belongs or we deserve it. Well. Where do I begin? I only have one chief complaint. Why haven't you brought back your onion ring appetizer? Over and over again I ask and email and I get the same weak answer. "Well our culinary team blah blah blah." That's not good enough. It's been over three years and still no onion rings back on menu. They were a big seller. This was one of the worst dining experiences that I have ever had. It was my family's first visit and it was our last. Food was horrible. Burgers overcooked and buns were hard as a brick. My aunt ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup and got potato without being asked if it was ok because they were out of broccoli and cheddar. Potato soup was microwaved and they attempted to melt cheese on it. I asked for lettuce tomato onion and thousand island dressing. I got an overcooked burger with wilted lettuce and no tomato and no dressing. It was just awful. Kitchen staff all were drinking in the food area which is a health department violation. When my aunt and mom paid their bill the server didn't have the money to give them change back. We had to wait over 30 minutes to even get our food. It was just horrible. We're never going back. "Pusser's Rum, Cream of Coconut, Pineapple juice, Orange juice, toasted coconut rim, topped with nutmeg. $6.99" - that is straight off the menu. It arrives with a sad slice of pineapple, no cherry (as pictured), and zero toasted coconut. My server drops it off and leaves with no comment. I wait for her to appear again but she did not. I gave up and went to the actual bar (that should never happen with a good server). The bartender informs me that there is no toasted coconut and shows me the empty container with "just mush left" as she stated. I smiled and said then I do not want this drink and please remove it from my bill. Back to my seat where I wait for the server who does not come back until she brings our food out. Mind you she served two tables in the same area THREE times, made eye contact but did not walk over. So now I have my food in front of me and ask for a glass of water. I also ask her to make sure my drink is removed from my check. "Well we are out of toasted coconut". I replied that I know as I had to walk to the bar to find out. Now if the server knows that fact then they should tell your customer in which case I can decide then if I want the $6.99 drink or not. Nope. Moving on we both had ordered steaks. She never waited for us to check the steaks and did not come back to the table for TWENTY minutes. WHAT server does not check that your steak was cooked to your order???? Nope. She comes back in TWENTY minutes and asks if we want separate checks or one. - NOTHING about a dessert, maybe a glass of wine or even a refill for my mom. No refill for my moms soda. Because she never came to the table to ask. Oh and once we got the check the drink was still on it. Now I was overly polite and nice as my mom was celebrating her retirement. But let me tell you the service was the WORST I have ever had EVER. HORRIBLE. How do you not check on your customers? How do you not refill drinks? I could see if I was rude or impolite but I went above and beyond to be nice for my moms sake. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. POOR SERVICE should never be allowed.
