Exceptional service--worth sharing We visited Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen today after church, knowing full well it was going to be busy. We had a party of six, were quoted about a 45-minute wait, and fully expected that given the Sunday crowd. Our table ended up taking a bit longer--about an hour and fifteen minutes--simply because the party seated before us had finished eating and paid but lingered for a while. Honestly, we weren't upset at all; things like that happen, especially on busy Sundays. What stood out was how the staff handled it. The team was incredibly apologetic and attentive the entire time. Before we were even seated, the manager personally came over, apologized, and offered to cover two appetizers because of the extended wait. We repeatedly told them it wasn't necessary, but the gesture alone spoke volumes about their leadership and care for guests. Our server, Kendra, deserves special recognition. She's only been serving for two weeks and was clearly under pressure--she had just dealt with a large party before us and then was seated with our group. Despite the stress, she handled everything like an absolute professional. She was thorough, kind, apologetic (even when she didn't need to be), and genuinely attentive. We made sure to tell her multiple times how great she was doing--and we meant it. It was a hectic day, but every staff member we encountered went above and beyond. Service like that is becoming harder to find, and it's absolutely worth calling out when you see it. Well done to the entire Cheddar's Morristown team--we'll gladly be back. read more

Terrible experience all around. When were taken to our table the bench seat was very dirty and we had to go get someone to wipe it off. We spoke to the waitress and told her we signed up for rewards but couldn't get service in the restaurant, she said they would order it and take care of it. I ordered fish and shrimp and the fish was absolutely mushy and gross I only had the 1 bite.The waitress said oh sorry. They didn't offer anything else or take it off the bill. They also charged us for the chips and salsa and said since we couldn't log on they couldn't take it off the bill. I will not be going back. It's unacceptable to be treated this way. read more

I am giving this a 4 because of the service more than the food! Our waiter was so attentive and friendly. He was so thoughtful! The booths are a little tight and I am tiny. I want to start that the croissant with honey butter I could have made a meal out of them! The appetizers were nothing special. We got the sampler platter initially with spinach dip, chicken strips and fries with cheese sauce. We sent the spinach dip back. It was ice cold and tasted like nothing but spinach. For drinks I had the painkiller (cheddars pour) AMAZING! Two of us got the 7 oz filet with baked potatoes and green beans/broccoli. The green beans were sweet. Potato and filets were okay. Happy Halloween! Tonight a majority of the servers were in their Halloween costumes. This place has been pretty good the few times I've tried it. Though, their popluar items sometimes run out if it is later in the night. This joint is consistently busy but there usually isn't a long wait, if any at all. 3 bathrooms: male/female with multiple stalls and a family dedicated bathroom. Tonight I ordered the chicken pot pie with a loaded baked potato and they were both delicious. There is a separate bar area with TVs for the folks that meet up for drinks. I forgot to take pics. We were seated right away and the hostess was very nice. Our server came over right away. His name was JJ and he was great! He was polite, friendly and came and checked on us just the right amount of times. He brought me a new tea when my glass was about 1/3 full. Speaking of tea, Cheddars has consistently good, brewed tea. My husband and I both appreciate it!! We hate weak tea. We both ordered the Lunch cheeseburger special and it was hot, fresh and delicious!! We were both underwhelmed by the croissants and fries. We didn't complain about them-just ate them. I'm sure if we complained JJ would have taken care of us. I don't blame that on the server, I blame the kitchen. The fries would have probably been great if they were hot and I would have given this experience 5 stars instead of 4. read more

Elijah was our server and he did an amazing job. Not only was he handsome, but he made me and my family feel very welcome on a bad night we were having. We sat in the bar which was amazing because there was a tv on playing pitch perfect and everything just started to feel right after a margarita. Service was fast and friendly as well as very accommodating to our needs. In terms of cheddars servers he was definitely a breath of fresh air because when we usually come here the service is poor. Can't wait to come back with hopefully Eli as my server again because he was part of what made the experience amazing. read more

My family and I had an enjoyable experience at Cheddar's. The service was prompt, courteous and attentive. I didn't give a 5 because of two things that I consider pretty important in a dining experience. First, our food selections were either too salty, too covered in sauce and too overcooked. Only one in four of us had none of these specific issues. Secondly, I did not feel there was an appropriate variety in their menu selections. I tagged along with my family even though I'm vegan. There was no vegan offering on the menu. Yes, I took one for the team so the family could be together but decidedly chose to use this forum (since many pursue healthier diets for a variety of needs) to gently push for area restaurants to do better. read more

Food was fair but service was terrible. 10 minutes before the waiter cane to take our order. Then service seemed to improve slightly but service got slower and slower. Attempted to order a dessert on The kiosk. But order would not go through and said call the server. Hit the button. 10 minutes later he finally showed up. When we explained that we needed help with the kiosk and had been waiting 10 minutes he said I doubt that. Explained that we started a timer (because service had been so slow). He said let's see it. Once the looked at he grabbed the kiosk and left. Sent someone else out with the receipt saying he got busy. But still no way to pay. Asked for a manager but got a team lead. Very good overall experience at this location. The two times I have been so far were better than average for this style restaurant. First visit was amazing with a great waiter and the food was cooked perfectly. The second visit was ok but it did reveal quality issues when the restaurant is busier than normal. Several servers were basically hanging out at the kitchen entrance while others were overwhelmed with tables. read more

This place is a great example that putting lipstick on a pig doesn't make it better. The building design and decor is on point however, the food doesn't match the decor. Not a fan. We waited until the crowds died down to try this new Cheddars for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole and my husband had the Monte Cristo sandwich and fries. My husband's sandwich looked a bit darker than golden brown but he liked it. My food on the other hand was not very good. The scoop of potatoes featured a thick dry skin and the broccoli casserole just tasted terrible. I asked for a new side of potatoes only to get a serving with skin stirred in. The sides seemed to have been scooped up and microwaved. The meatloaf tasted ok. Nothing was beyond luke warm. The price for two was $35 without tip but most of my meal was inedible. I don't think I will crave Cheddars in the future. read more

Cheddars is always a great choice if your tired of burgers and fries and your on a budget. I ordered the COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN w/ BEANS AND RICE and the BROCCOLI CASSEROLE. i made three trips in one! My first, only and last trip to Cheddars. The rolls were good as I ate three thankfully. The steak came out at 1a hour and 45 minutes. i would have left if not for this being my grandsons graduation dinner. The steak was to be well done but came out with I pool of blood on top of it. After another 30 minutes the steak came out very tuff, dry and had a horrible taste after two bites I took it home to feed my dogs. The steak was hands down the worst steak I have ever had in a restaurant in my life! read more

the lunch special burger yesterday has sent me into an extreme food poisoning and the doctor now says it could turn to e-coli. the food tasted more sub part than McDonald's and nobody should have to ingest what the kitchen staff here fail to make. I have contacted the health department in relation to this horrid restaurant, and if you're looking for a good cheddars I recommend the one in Sevierville. this has been one of the most gut wrenching and Illness inducing meals ive ever ate. read more

Came here for the first time with my husband ! We were immediately seated and greeted by a sweet kind hostess ! Our waitress too was a sweet heart. We were immediately brought a delicious croissant by our waitress . We ordered a appetizer ( cheese curds) and they were absolutely delicious! The restaurant was immaculate especially after several customers with kids made such a mess and the employees immediately cleaned up the slobs messes and the employees had great attitudes as well ! The mess some customers left was unacceptable! My husbands burger was delicious ! I ordered the Monte Cristo ! To be honest my sandwich was super greasy and not good at all but , I'm still giving this place 5 stars as the service was amazing , the restaurant was immaculate, our appetizer and croissant delicious and the prices reasonable ! Ate there with my daughter. She had the chicken tenders with fries and broccoli casserole. I had grilled white fish with rice, green beans, and baby carrots. She said hers was very good, especially the broccoli. Mine was so-so--fish was done but pretty tasteless, but vegetables were good. Service was okay although considering the number of servers they had it could have been better; when you have to ask for more tea that kind of tells you something. Okay for a chain but I understand they just opened and I suppose they have to work the kinks out. read more

The food was absolutely awful. We had to reorder twice because they we out of certain items on the menu. The place is terribly mismanaged. The waitstaff seemed totally confused. Apparently the manager has zero experience in running a restaurant. My family and I felt like we were an inconvenience instead of guests. I definitely recommend finding another place to dine. Plenty of better restaurants in Morristown !!! The atmosphere of this place reminds me of song Dazed and Confused!
