I've had better macaroni and cheese out of the box. The food was mediocre at best. The wait staff was lazy and I was not impressed at all

We were skeptical based on the average number of stars, but decided to give it a try based on proximity to our hotel. The food was surprisingly good and the service was friendly and efficient. I had the fried chicken salad and a cup of potato soup and my husband had the chicken pot pie. The fried chicken (and salad!) was excellent, the chicken pot pie and soup was good. The croissants included with our meals were yummy as was the dessert trio (one of each: key lime, chocolate, raspberry cheesecake). Not sure why folks were giving the food low ratings, in our experience it was quite good. This is American comfort food well done and we enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner the following 2 nights. The Cajun Pasta was good enough for a repeat order! read more

Ok I am the one that only complains on Yelp. My wife and I were here for lunch on a Saturday.But there are no complaints for my service and time here at Cheddars. Our server was Jaleel he was very attentive on the ball and was never without anything to drink. The portions were perfect the prices spot on in our area. I was able to talk to the manager Matthew and he treated use like family not just customers. thank you for everything!!!! read more

Service was ok but the food has a lot to be desired. Over cooked with no taste. Obviously when 3 people have almost all of their meal still on their plate and they asked for the check then food is not good. After eating most of my chicken I noticed the chicken was pink, obviously undercooked. Our waitress was friendly so I showed her and asked if she could let the cook know. I do work in Africa so I took medication I have to avoid getting food poisoning. Hopefully they will pay better attention before they send food out like that. read more

Visited the restaurant for the first time. I was in the area on business and tried it out. Glad I did!! The food was very good. I had the half rack of ribs and tenders with cole slaw. Meat fell right off the bone. My server Taylor was extremely nice and made me feel welcomed and always checked on me. I was definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. I almost forgot my review! I called to see if they were full due to we were just leaving my son graduation on 5/5/18. I let them know we had 10 people. The service was excellent even though it was very busy they was very organized. The management was on point we was sitted an everything went very smooth. Food was amazing and waitress was on point. Cheddar's has a truely fantastic variety of food. There is something for everyone on their menu. I have tried several items and never come across something that was not delicious. Went for dinner last week. Have always loved the food, service and restaurant in the past. Not this time. We were seated in and area that had a large group of teenagers celebrating something. We were happy to see such good kids and parent/chaperones having fun. Very Loud, however. There were plenty of places to seat us in the restaurant. I know 5he manager on duty and our server were very aware of the noise. While they are nice, they did not offer apologies or to move us. Seems, maybe a few tweaks might be helpful and be able to enjoy their dinner. Food is just ok. I would rate this restaurant 2 stars. read more

This was a first visit and we were very pleased. Everything we ordered was awesome and more than we could eat! We started with an appetizer of salsa queso and chips. Best queso I can remember and because this is a "usual" there's much to compare. Our entrees included baby back ribs, blackened salmon, and a juicy burger all cooked to perfection and delicious. Bad Bad Service, Bad Management, every Cheddars I have been to has been first class! Not this one! in Lakeland on South Forida Ave. We were a party of 8 and waited 10 minutes while servers and manager walked by. I went back to the hostess to get someone to come to our table. One of our party had fish taco's with a piece of plastic in it. We asked for a manager he never came over. The server came by three times and kept saying he was busy. After I closed out a manager came out and said I took the fish tacos off and didnt charge you for a order of onion rings! "How nice" They didnt offer to bring another dish for my guest. Went to Cheddar's in Lakeland for lunch with friends on Friday and had an enjoyable time. It was our first visit and the food and service were great. Our server was a spunky lady who always wears a bow tie and she was friendly and efficient. We ordered the chicken pot pie, half Rueben, and the Redfish which were served hot and all were very tasty. I was sooo disappointed at the one In Lakeland on Florida Ave after my experience at the one in Lake Mary. First our waitress whose name starts with a Z takes our order and then goes to talk to an elderly couple about her Mercedes and I had to go and ask about the croissants at the front desk since she never brought them. After which the manager brings them and they are undercooked and with little honey not crispy and brown. He then tells me when he and not the waitress brings them that everyone is on edge because the GM is there well isn't that when service should be superb? The crispy onions straws were soaked in oil and not crispy so that wasn't eaten as the Mac and cheese was not creamy but tasted as they had been under the warmer for a while. The waitress came over to he second time only after I complained which was about 8 minutes later and then right before the check. The food was subpar at this location as well as the service at our table, I noticed other tables were treated better. Oh and when she took our initial order she was leaning in the booth with her knee on the end of the booth luckily I was sitting more towards the middle of the booth. Couldn't tell you about the food. It looked good as it passed us by, but we never tasted any. In an hour and a half. We called the manager over. She promised us food. It never came. I don't know if our waiter was bad or the kitchen was bad, but we never got a nibble of food in the whole time. We walked out without paying for our single beer. Very disappointing. The server, though average, had a strange and somewhat rude sense of humor (while ordering, my boyfriend asked is he could change his selected side dish and she responded "No, that's not allowed" waited about five seconds and said "just kidding" and she made similar comments throughout the visit). All of the food was SO SALTY to the point where my food was inedible. I ordered an entree with chicken and shrimp and the shrimp were overlooked. My side dish of black beans was heavily salted and like I said before, inedible. I was simply looking to enjoy a meal out to give myself a break from cooking every night, but it was a wasted evening and a waste of money. Would give 6 stars if I could. Had an over $300 Togo order during lunch rush today and our order was perfect! It was all exactly how we ordered it. They marked each item so it was easy to disperse. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. And even in the pouring rain they brought out our food right to my car. Will definitely be ordering the office lunch here again soon. I have eaten here several times, called in an order of baby back ribs and was told it would be one hour, because they had ran out, so I decided on the chicken fingers and a monte cristo. Big mistake, the dough was literally soggy and uncooked. The chicken fingers were cold and dried out like they had been sitting for awhile, the broccoli casserole was overcooked as well. If I could give negative stars I would. Ordered a steak that came back raw. Told the manager who took it back and put it in the microwave. I know this because the outside was well done and the middle was pink. When I told the manager she said that it wasn't microwaved it was placed back on the flat top. However my A1 was still on top.
