It's no secret I come here for the Loaded Baked Potato Soup, so that's what I got. Plus the Wisconsin Cheese Bites appetizer, that I shared. My brother Bill got a spicy penne pasta dish that he really enjoyed. My brother Jonathan got a Monte Cristo and he really liked it. We sat way in the back, so the service wasn't as good as normally. Our waitress was wonderful the place was clean and nice. The food has changed drastically since last time I have been there. Doesn't taste the same. I got grilled pork cutlets with the honey bourbon sauce. I don't recommend the sauce it was not good. Had a funny after taste. My masked potatoes were runny and the gravy was the same. We were greeted promptly and seated right away by the friendly hostesses. Our server, Chloe M., was pleasant; however, she appeared unaware of proper handling practices, as she delivered our cold glasses while holding the rims with the same fingers she had been using for other tasks. Additionally, she was often difficult to locate, and we ultimately had to go to the bar for drink service and to request our check. We spoke with the manager, Zacharia, who was very courteous and generously comped more of our bill than expected. That said, I did notice him--and several servers--frequently checking their phones while on the floor. I believe a refresher meeting on proper service standards and attentiveness would be beneficial. More active oversight in the dining room could greatly improve the overall guest experience. read more

My family came in for my wife's birthday. The wait wasn't too long and we were seated in Allison's section for service near the bar. Ms Trudy was tending the bar. If you want great service , great food and family like atmosphere, come dine with the dream team. Allison made my wife's birthday. The only thing that was missing was Alison at the table with us. Trevor was fabulous, probably the best server I've had, other than fine dining and cruise ships. He was attentive, polite, friendly, accurate, and expedient. I tried to speak to a manager to convey our experience that evening, but they were busy. Thus, I tried calling at a less busy time, 3:30pm the next day to convey this message, yet the manager once again wasn't available. So, now this is my discouragement that I can't leave a compliment. If I had a serious concern it would not have been addressed either, unfortunately. However, as for Trevor, definitely a great experience!! read more

My favorite restaurant! Everything from scratch! It shows. We had the croissants to start off with. Then we had the best onion rings! We enjoyed the country fried chicken, w/ green beans & mashed potatoes covered with gravy. The chicken pot pie. Is always great! It was tonight too! We had a very nice experience at Cheddar's in Lakeland. We went for dinner 2 tween girls and 3 adults. Service was very good, with no issues splitting the bill, or bringing us unbuttered croissants (we had a dairy intolerance at the table). The food was good, with the full rack of ribs being really generous in size. I had shrimp plater over rice with a teriyaki glaze that was really good! Steak and burger also good and cooked well. My in laws decided to come here to change up their normal pattern, and I am so glad I went with! I've eaten here a few times since and the food is so good! Love that you start out with buttery croissants! I've had the Buffalo chicken wraps and the chicken tender meal and both were tasty and HUGE portions! My husband has gotten the ribs and lemon pepper chicken and said both were tasty and has ordered several times! Service is always friendly and quick! I have already posted this on Google Maps but figured I should post it here to hit a different demographic, I and two of my friends got moldy buns on our burgers. Our server almost never visited our table and when she did she did not ask if we wanted refills and walked away promptly, two of my friends did not get refills the entire time we were here, she also never asked if we wanted box's. When they came back with my new burger after it was remade it was extremely overcooked and burnt in many areas, I have liked cheddars in the past and was devastated that this cheddars was so terrible. read more

Ah Cheddars... this is a really hit or miss place. Sometimes it's great and enjoyable with good food and good service; other times, it's incredibly slow, lackluster food and an altogether experience to be forgotten gladly. I'd say Cheddars is on a similar level to an Applebee's or Chili's. The prices are super cheap, but the food usually matches it. Not to say it can't be good, but it's nowhere near the above average. It is nice that they have a wide, and albeit random array of menu items. If you want seafood you can have it, but if you also want pasta or a monte cristo or a salad, we'll you got that too. Overall my opinion on Cheddars just isn't high. This isn't somewhere I choose to go anymore unless someone else suggests it or really wants to. But if you just want to go out, have a lot of menu options for good prices then Cheddars definitely makes the list. read more

After having a few bad meals in the area I decided to give old faithful a try. The hostess working was so friendly and seated me in the bar area. The waitress came over almost immediately to take my drink order. I stuck with water and started with the queso. The queso came out fast and hot. I loved that the chips were also warm. The queso itself reminded me of the cheese dip you get at the movies. Watery and not very flavorful. I selected the grilled shrimp Alfredo for my meal and it was great. The shrimp were seasoned, the Alfredo sauce had a great consistency and the pasta wasn't over cooked. The portion is big so I couldn't finish it all and it rewarmed well in the microwave later that evening. As a chain I'm never disappointed in Cheddar's and the great staff at this location made my experience even better. read more

I had heard of this particular chain before but had not had a chance to try it before now. We were not sure what to expect. It had just opened for the Sunday lunch service but was almost filled. We were given a wait time of 10 minutes but were seated in less than 5. I am glad we arrived when we did because when we left, the lobby was packed. All the workers we encountered were friendly and polite, although we did get the feeling that they were understaffed. The restaurant itself was clean and so much larger inside than it appears on the outside. The bathrooms are placed in a rather awkward spot, by the "To Go" register, but were clean. The menu had many things that looked good, but we weren't as hungry as we thought we were (we had seen the size of the entrees on other tables) so we both ordered from the Lunch Special (a combination of two items from a specific menu). My husband had the (new) broccoli cheddar soup and original cheeseburger. The soup was delicious and the burger was cooked perfectly. I had the baked potato soup and the Half Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad. The soup was excellent and I was very surprised at how large the salad was. (It was a HALF serving. A whole serving would have been massive.) The chicken was roasted sliced breast and was tender and flavorful. Lots of shaved Parmesan and good al dente pasta. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Raspberry Mini Cake to split. It is a small Bundt-like cake with raspberry preserves inside, served warm with whipped cream melting fast on top. Don't let the word "mini" confuse you, it was more than enough for two people to split. All in all it was a satisfying meal and a good experience. read more

I seriously would give this restaurant negative ratings. You know the movie Zootopia?! Remember the sloths that were in the movie, thats who they hired to work at this location. My food (pasta) was cold. Im talking ice cold. My cousin got a steak and it was completely wrong, waitress said that the steak would be taken off but instead meant that the second steak they had to remake would be taken off not the one they made wrong. There were 5 people in the whole restaurant. Food didnt come until about 1 hour after we ordered. Please i beg you unless you want to have the worst night of your life or not get anything you ordered dont go to this restaurant. I can not actually seriously imagine this location not being shut down soon. Dont come, dont eat, dont do it. I promise you it is not worth any of your money. read more
