I asked what happened and he was like oh I'm sorry we were making food and we did not see you. I was like I've been out there for 10 minutes. I ordered 2 checker burgers x-tra pickles (had to pay for it) one burger had NO pickles and the other just had one pickle. Both of the burgers were cold AF and buns crumbled in my hands. Still shaking my head. The lack of common sense is mind boggling. I order a triple meat burger with mayo and cheese only. She says "which burger do you want". I said I want a burger with triple meat and cheese and mayo. She says again "but what burger do you want". AGAIN, I say I want a burger with triple meat and cheese and Mayo". She said "but I need to know which burger you want. We have many different types of burgers". I mean FFS, if some of these people don't have a button to push, their mind goes blank. Helllooooo. Watch out here! Food is great but they will rip you off. Got a Double Checker Burger meal and a chicken bites box last night for $13 and change. Went back tonight and they insisted they didn't have that meal and my new total would be over $16, even after seeing the receipt from last night! I told them to cancel it and went to Taco Bell... sad that businesses would rather loose customers than retain them. Smh! read more

BEST FAST FOOD PLACE!!! The 2 for $4 Bacon Checkerburgers are the best fast food burger on the island. Seasoned fries are on-point. I never have to wait long at this location. Only complaint is that they don't serve Mello Yellow anymore! read more

Walk-up window, 12:30 in the morning, not many options for food: The cashier had a bad attitude from the jump. I ordered the BBQ wings, and after a minute, without even looking at me, she snapped, we don't have that flavor. I selected the Parmesan, the Big Buford combo with fries, a Sweet tea, and a Sprite. The order was $27.79, and the time was 12:32 am. She gave me the Sprite but needed to remember the tea. After the first 20 minutes, about four cars came and went through the drive-through, the gentlemen asked what we ordered. I told him, and he said, "Sorry, the order just popped up out of nowhere, and I will get to it right now. Another 15 - 20 minutes or 3 - 4 cars came through the drive-through, and we finally got food. I asked the cashier for the sweet tea, and she gave it to us with an attitude. Keeping in mind, we are standing outside. On the ride to the hotel, we found the Sprite was flat, and the food was cold. I threw away $27.79. Crappy customer service, a nasty floor, and an overall pitiful experience. I complained to the corporate headquarters, and they sent me a coupon for $5.00 off the next order. Checkers is an underated fast food chain, I've never had Checkers in my life, and I finally had Checkers after 23 years in Florida, more than 600 miles away from my home. The FRENCH FRIES almost tops off Popeyes, actually no, it does. This spot made FRESH CRISPY fries late at night and the people working were having a blast, whatever they were on or have, I need. I always try to be fair in my reviews, but honestly the spicy chicken sandwich tasted rotten. The mayonnaise had a bad taste as well. The fries were ok. The chicken nuggets were hard, overly fried and the breading was overly crunchy. I just hope I don't get sick. read more

I liked that this is Checkers location is open late. We were starving after a late flight at 2am and it was truly a life saver. However, the food itself was not good. Most of us ordered fries which tasted like they had been fried in week old oil and the popcorn chicken which was just ok. Service was extremely slow as well and we had to explain the orders to the cashier numerous times. Note that there is no seating inside. There's a few tables outside but it was too cold. There's also a drive thru which seemed more convenient. read more

Tonight November 4th, 2015, I had one of the worst experiences ever at a fast food restaurant. Store 3144 in Merritt Island,FL. Order was taken at 935pm. After 10 minutes at the window, we were told to "park over there, someone will bring it out, there's only 2 of us here." (There were clearly 4 people visible inside working) 10 more minutes goes by an one of the managers brings out our order after multiple cars have come and gone. Our order was 4 sandwiches and 2 milkshakes. We had been given one shake at the window which was wrong. I mention to the manager that the shake is wrong and we're missing the other. Meanwhile, he was eating an ice cream cone on the way to my car. He says "really??" and then walks away. Never saw him again. 5 minutes goes by an we drive back up to the window. I tell the woman what is wrong with the order and she says " so what do you want to do about it?" I said we'd just like what we ordered. Then I hear her yelling to her manager about how long the shake machine is going to take. It's currently 955pm (20 minutes gone by) and I hear that it's going to take at least 10 more minutes. So we ask for our money back. She says "i can't do that, only a manager can. How do YOU think I feel, I've been here since 5 without a break!" then says to her manager "You come deal with this" and walks away. The manager comes over and I express my concern to her and that the employee was giving me a ton of attitude just because I asked for my order to be right. She says " I know, I've been dealing with it all night", then she asks me if I want to wait another 10 minutes. I told her that I've now been here for 22 minutes for this $18 order and that I'd just really like my money back. They ran my card again for the difference and said I'd get refunded the original order and charged for the order minus the shakes. While the manager is doing this, the employee from earlier is over her shoulder telling her " I can't handle this stuff, this is ridiculous" in complete earshot of us. I am appalled at the unprofessionalism this store has. I have been parked numerous times for 1 or 2 sandwiches and watch multiple cars go through and get bags of food. We will NOT be back here ever again. read more

I went to the fast food restaurant tonight, once I got all of my meals in the car they already shorted me a drink, then once I got home they gave me 1 chicken with everything on it after I ordered two with ranch only, then I went back and told them about my order, then after I got the "correct" order i got home, and they gave me two fish sandwiches. I've had a similar problem before around the same time of the day, and both times the girl working there capfuls not speak clearly, and had an attitude and was not polite, the day shift seems to be fine but not the night shift. Please someone do something about this. I usually like their food but will be avoiding it at night. read more

If not for the food tasting so darned good, I'd give Checkers 1 star. EVERY time we go there it takes forever. I see a lot of comments on the rude staff but frankly, I've only seen them be very nice and helpful. That being said, if you're looking for "fast" food, you won't find it here. Never had a bad meal here. This was my first checkers and I've been coming back ever since. Fries are always hot and fresh. Burgers are always great, occasionally too much condiments. Service is quick and somewhat friendly. No real complaints. read more

We waited 40 minutes for two burgers, 5 wings and some chicken bites. The wings were terribly overcooked and one of our burgers we requested with lettuce and tomato and it came without. Otherwise the burgers were good and chicken was good. read more

Yeah food poisoning is not fun. It's extremely unclean in there and the service is usually not great. Extremely cheep but not worth it.

Store #3144 - Merritt Island, FL. The restaurant opened at 10 AM, at 10:30 the person on the front window finally answered our knock and said she had just gotten there and had to count her drawer before she could help us and slammed window shut and locked it, WAITED OVER 20 MINUTES. The other customer who came up after I did, finally left grumbling to himself. Have worked for many years and if you open at 10, you are supposed to be ready to work when the business is opened. Saw several employees standing around playing with hair, other parts of their bodies and talking. Poor service due to the extremely poor attitudes. read more

As with the other posts I experienced the same slow service. Friday night at 8:30 on Labor Day weekend and they close one order lane. 25 minutes to get a couple fish sandwiches and a drink. Cars backed up and not moving so we could not get out of line to just leave and go somewhere else. I have no idea who the owner is or if Checkers ever reviews their franchise holders for making the company look bad but someone seriously needs to fix whatever is causing this. I have no intentions of going back to order from them again. Nor will I suggest it ever again at work when trying to decide where to order from. If the owner can afford to lose customers over bad service he is on the right track. read more
