It's been about 4 years since I've been to The Burger Spot, but the food and service is still as great as I remember it to be. I used the ordering service through their website and put in my order for pickup. I walked into The Burger Spot and went to the cashier. My order was behind the counter and ready for pickup. My go to speciality burger is Swiss ($15.95). Swiss comes with swiss, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. Burgers are served with fries. The burger was juicy and just the way I remember it to be. The fries are very crispy and the white sauce it comes with is very good. My husband ordered one of the specials, the Tamarind Cilantro Chicken Sandwich ($16.54). This sandwich is grilled chicken with pepper jack cheese, avocado, arugula, topped with homemade Tamarind cilantro salsa on ciabatta. The sandwich was also served with a side of fries, but you can substitute it for others like he chose 1/2 Sweet Potato / 1/2 Onion Rings for $2.07 more. There were only a few onion rings, but they are big. The sandwich was packed with flavors. The Burger Spot is the spot for burgers and fries. Payment and everything went through but there were wet sign cones in both of the drive thru lanes. My partner and I then walked to the door to figure out how can we get our food. A nice male employee told us that they were closed until 6AM. My partner and I started inquiring on how we could get our money back, he went to get the manager. It was this old grumpy lady who is the early AM manager and respectfully needs to be retrained. My partner asked about how do we get a refund. The lady says, " I don't know". That's cool and all to not know but she didn't stop there. She says, " No money, no food" and threw her hands up shrugging oh well. She then closes the window and walks off. I think it's crazy that establishments can take your money, have no detailed refund policy and say "oh well" that's your issue. Point of this review. EVERY time I come here to pickup a mobile order around the estimated pickup time (which is a good 10 minutes after the order has been placed) the staff hasn't even THOUGHT about starting to prepare the order. They only focus on preparing orders placed in-store, so as I'm standing there waiting a whole 15 minutes past the time my order was supposed to be ready, customers are literally walking in, ordering at the register, and walking out with their orders. The sheer lack of consideration for wasting people's time is blatantly dysfunctional, unorganized, and negligent. The whole point of placing a mobile order is for that order to be prepared and ready BEFORE the person arrives. The other way in which the staff is disrespectful, particularly towards delivery drivers who are getting paid to facilitate their business, is that they treat all drivers like thieves. After making drivers wait 15+ minutes past the pickup time, the staff has the audacity to then refuse to hand the driver the order until the driver has "confirmed" the order on the app. They do this because scumbag drivers in the past have stolen orders without confirming. The actual solution to the ROOT of this problem is to report those thief drivers to whichever company the order was placed on (UberEats, DoorDash, etc) and get that driver deactivated. Treating every single driver like a thief, especially AFTER deliberately making the driver lose money by waiting a long time for a fast food order, is disrespectful beyond belief. It's almost as if they don't realize that drivers are also potential customers, and fellow citizens who are just trying to make a living. Any business that's managed this way doesn't deserve ANYONE'S money.
