It's been a long time since I've had this level of customer service, but I've lucked out with two great companies this month. Clayton came out and inspected my chimney and let me know that I had some creosote. This tracks because I don't use my fireplace all that often but I do use it every year. He explained creosote and what happens with it to me, but suggested that we hold off since it was not to a level that I needed a deep cleaning. Clayton also let me know that I needed to have my firebox repaired as many of the spaces in between the bricks were missing mortar. I was expecting this because I had noticed that the mortar had burned off over the last few years. Again, he explained very carefully what happens if you don't take care of the specific issue and how it can damage your home. I really appreciated the attention to detail and the comprehensive explanation given to me. I ended up scheduling a second visit with them so the firebox could be repaired. Clayton was professional, kind, and courteous. He explains things exceptionally well and lets you know what to expect. They are transparent with their pricing so again, you know what you are paying for and they are in line, price-wise, with other chimney sweeps. I will definitely be using CBS again. The service included maintenance, chimney sweeps, and repairs on both of our gas fireplaces.
