In the past, I had called 2 different heating companies to look at the boiler in my house. Both companies said my boiler was working fine, but yet my 2nd floor was still cold. I had called Lawerence plumbing to look at my furnace. Lawerence plumbing sent 2 technicians, Sam and Ed. It only took 5 minutes and they found the problem. The PSI in the water system was only at 5 Lbs, when it should have been at 15 Lbs. The valves that controls the water pressure in the boiler was corroded and stuck. The boiler system was old, and several other valves were also in need of replacement. Surprisingly, they were able to replace the old worn-out parts without breaking other parts. That's always the fear of working on old plumbing, things tend to snowball. They had to replace some bleeder valves on two of the radiators also. To make a long story short, Sam and Ed did a terrific job fixing my boiler. They were able to restore heat to my 2nd-floor without costing me a small fortune. If I ever need a plumber again, I will gladly call Lawerence Plumbing. They did a terrific job at an honest price. If I do call them again, I hope they send Sam & Ed again. Those two guys really know their stuff. Thanks Lawerence Plumbing and Heating

Terry's Plumbing has been in business for over 40 years, and its plumbers perform the following…read moreservices: general plumbing, bathroom remodeling, sewer replacement and repair, and pipe excavation. I had a leaking pipe in my garage ceiling, and my usual plumber was not available, so I called Terry's Plumbing. A courteous woman answered the phone and set up an appointment for 10 AM to 2 PM later in the day. That time came and went, and no plumber had arrived, so I called again, and the woman told me that the plumber was on his way. The plumber arrived and spoke courteously with me, and he even interacted nicely with my dog. He cut a hole in the drywall in my garage ceiling. He initially said that he could not find the pinhole leak in my copper pipe because it might have sealed itself with calcium, but then he said that he found it, and he replaced about two feet of the pipe. The cost was $90 plus whatever it cost to fix the leak, for a total of $240. He wrote my credit card number, expiration date, and authorization code on a paper invoice to bill later. Unfortunately, water continued to drip from the ceiling. The plumber had told me that the ceiling would be wet and take days to dry, so I waited until later in the week to call about the continued dripping. The receptionist said that if the leak was related to the call earlier in the week, then they would not charge me a service fee. There would be a service fee only if the problem was new. The same plumber returned, and he cut away more drywall and replaced a section of pipe that was near the previously replaced pipe. He did NOT charge me again. I deducted one star from my review because the leak was not fixed during the first visit and because the plumber got wet drywall all over my ladder and garage floor. However, I would consider hiring them again, and I even discussed PEX with them. Tip: Check their website for coupons.

So, he decided we should jackhammer the floor. I decided to get a second opinion. Enter Terry's Plumbing. Which is the reason behind this five star review.

The first could not provide a clear course of action he would take to fix the problem. The 2nd discussed the action he would take and quoted me an outrageous amount of money. Knowing we had an active leak causing damage he justified the quote with scare tactics. We continued our search and by the grace of God found Nick who was able to come out the same day. He was clear in what he would do to correct the problem once and for all. He was extremely knowledgeable about old homes and guaranteed his work. The quote was fair. No scare tactics. No price gauging. I would highly recommend Cheddar Plumbing. Integrity, plumbing expertise with older homes in particular and very professional.

I have hired Petrack Plumbing several times. Here are summaries:…read more Appointment #1: The plumbers removed an old utility sink and installed a new utility sink in my laundry room, removed a 1970s-style wet bar in my living room and capped its pipes, and snaked a gutter pipe outside. Afterward, my new sink and pipes worked great. Appointment #2: The plumber used a camera to determine why my gutter drain pipes were not draining properly. He determined that a dry well/pit in my yard was full and needed to be replaced. Appointment #3: A different company had installed a new washer and dryer in my laundry room, and they caused a gas leak and did not level the washer and dryer. Petrack Plumbing arrived at my house in less than one hour. The plumbers reassembled my gas pipe, and they leveled my washer and dryer. Then they charged me $0! Appointment #4: Petrack Plumbing flushed the pipes from my gutter downspouts to my dry well/pit (*different* downspouts, pipes, and dry well than months earlier). They said that my gutters and downspouts are probably clogged and that my dry well might be full as well, but my dry well does not need to be replaced because it can overflow down the hillside. Then Petrack Plumbing replaced a leaking copper pipe in my basement. The pipe had a pinhole, so the plumber replaced that section of pipe with new copper pipe. They said that the other copper pipes in my house are the thicker-wall Type L pipe, so they should last for more decades. Appointment #5: My hot water heater and expansion tank were about a decade old and probably nearing the end of their lifespan, so I hired Petrack Plumbing to install a new water heater and expansion tank. Two plumbers arrived 1.5 hours early, but they did call in advance for our consent. They spent 2.5 hours doing the installation. At the end, they explained to my husband and me what the different parts do. The plumbers had noticed that the old expansion tank and pipes were connected to the hot water rather than the cold water, so they installed the new tank and pipes in the correct location. This extra work cost a little extra money, but the final price was still a couple hundred dollars less than another company's estimate.

I complained about it and they didn't fix it. A year later, I was having issues with a valve they put in shooting water out, called and guy told me to put a brass plug in it and move on. Bought the plug and put it in, water then started coming out of the overflow valve. Had another company come out and the cost to fix everything including the blown overflow tank is 2400$. After having a 6000$ boiler put in, 2 years later another 2400 to fix their work. The system was pressurized well above what the overflow tank can handle and caused the liner to pop. **BUYER BEWARE!!!!!**…read more We had used Valley for years and will no longer be using them for anything. Dan sold us a bad unit years ago. The thing had been acting up so we called them out. He sends out his tech Mike. Mike proceeded to tell us how bad this unit is, that it's junk, etc. Not realizing that VALLEY was the one that sold it to us. So we pay Mike $200 to "fix" our unit. He sprays it with the hose. Takes half the lid off. Tests the pressure. Tells us it's fixed. We get home later that evening to the entire unit frozen than worse before. So we call them again... We had to wait two days for a call back. They didn't call back until I called for a 3rd time. Mind you it was 95 degrees in my house in the meantime. They send Mike out again. Who was over an hour late for our appointment, to scope our vent, which took less than 5 minutes and could have been done the first time. He then tells us "you" have to clean it out, to use a shop vac and reach in there and scrub it. Wait a minute, aren't we paying you to fix it? Mike then proceeds to tell us how he'd need another guy to help him pull it out and he can't do it by himself. Excuses. Mike also tried to sell us a NEW unit instead of fixing the one that's under warranty for another 5 years. So he doesn't make an appointment with us. We don't hear from them. More avoidance. We have to chase them down. I finally get Dan on the phone 5 days later, only for him to tell me they want to charge me between $500 and $800 dollars to "clean" my AC unit. Then he tells me we're going to need a cleaning once a year..... what?? What a racket! He never once took responsibility for the poor service we received, the bad unit they sold us, or avoiding us for days on end. Do not spend your money here. They will take advantage of you. They will bilk you. They will try to get you to spend exorbitant amounts on "maintenance". Then they will try to sell you a new unit when yours isn't even halfway through the warranty, cause they don't want to eat the costs on a bad product. They're unprofessional. They're rude. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere!
