Great way to enjoy outdoors and relax! This activity is 4hr tubing down the Chattahoochee lazy river style. You can bring your own snacks and speaker also. You rent your tubes for $25 and are taken to the starting point via bus and also picked back up once you're made it to the other side. Pro tip: if you plan to go more than once buy your own cooler tub and be sure to rent the paddles (we made the mistake of not doing so and had to be assisted in via kayak). Overall, Fun outdoor activity for kids and adults alike.

During the most difficult period of my family's life, we decided to go on this slow river float and it's been such a great decision and experience. This family owned business is operated by some of the nicest people with the biggest hearts! Everything went so smoothly and it truly showed how well organized they are. Having my 11yr old enjoy 4 hours in nature without electronics and only being entertained by a peaceful float, one paddle, and hours of conversation among ourselves was my favorite part! We should have brought some sandwiches, because we definitely got hungry by the end of it. Also, a closed tube is a good idea for when the water is super cold. But if it's a super hot day, grab the open tube to cool yourself off easily. We're definitely coming back and we're trying the kayaking next!

Tubing for four hours was just way too long. The sun was blazing and it was just way too hot to be out there for that long. The parking at the starting point was right, but the employees got everyone in expeditiously. The counter where you pay was also run very smoothly. All of the employees we encountered at the starting point t were amazing. Keep that in mind......at the starting point. They had port o potties and changing rooms. The port o potty was clean when we arrived and clean when we were leaving but out of toilet paper. They even had a hand washing station with water and soap. The rise to get to the river was short. The employees who gave us our tubes were also helpful and kind. Getting into the river was seamless and we were excited for our adventure. There were 8 of us and the employees at the starting point suggested we link our tubes in a big circle. It was cute but took us forever to move down the river. We unlinked at some point to help us move faster. The river and scenery were absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed floating and watching nature. I would suggest either brining a tube for a cooler or getting an extra tube for a cooler. Some people had speakers and other stuff to keep themselves entertained. We had fun passing and being passed by other groups. Getting out of the river was interesting. A lot of us had never tubed before, so we needed some instructions from the employee and he was not giving any. He literally watched us struggle to get out of the water and our tubes and asked us to chase down a tube that was getting away. He was terrible. Whoever that was on June 22nd, put him on bathroom inspection duty. He doesn't need to interact with people. The ride back was longer, but still good. The buses took longer to pick us up than we expected. We waited almost 30 minutes. I will go tubing again, but not at a place where it will take 4 hours.

Must read: if you make a reservation online it does not guarantee you a trip for the day you book or a time slot. It'll save you time when you get there but you'll still have to wait. It's really first come, first served. And if you're thinking about waiting until their last trip of the day when the sun is hottest, you'll be waiting with lots of others who are planning the same. I suggest getting there an hour early too ... ie, if you want to be in the water at 1:30, arrive by 12:30. Ok, now to my review ... So, I've driven past this place for years but never tried it bc we typically do tubing further North just because the water is clearer. However, opted to stay closer due to time constraints. We did book our reservation online and got there for the last drop in around 2:30. Parking here can fill up fast, so be prepared for that. It's a huge gravel lot with a sand play area, picnic tables, concessions and bathrooms. You have the option of a 2 hour or 4 hour float. 2 hour is currently unavailable due to construction at their drop in point but cost is $10. 4 hour is around $23. You also pay a Parks/Rec fee. You can choose between an open tube and a closed bottom tube (I believe the closed bottom tubes aren't available until mid June). You can also add in a paddle for $2 and connector straps for a $1. I'd highly suggest the connector straps for not only connecting tubes, but also using them to hold gear. Also, a paddle is certainly useful to navigate around things in the river. Bring a dry sack too. Coolers are allowed and you can bring cans. Make sure to bring a trash bag for your stuff too. Also, buy a plastic phone protector that floats! We did the 4 hour trip. Basically, you load up into a bus and it takes your group (plus tubes and life jackets) to the drop in point. They go over some rules to follow and also tell you where the end point is (pretty simple, it's right before the second bridge on the left ... you'll see their staff with Orange shirts too). The water will be COLD, no matter the temperature outside. I've yet to get in the Chattahoochee and ever feel comfy, even after running 15 miles. The water in the Chattahoochee is released from the bottom of the Buford Dam so it's constantly around 50 degrees. However, it's very therapeutic! This portion of the river has no rapids and is easy going. It's pretty deep in some spots too. We had a BLAST! It was more like 3 and a half hours, and it went by fast. My only complaint was having to pee and not wanting to get out of my tube (there are sand embankments to pull over on). Highly suggest this company and river route! Jordan helped us with an issue as well and went above and beyond to resolve it, plus went an extra mile. He literally turned our experience into an amazing one, and made all our kids happy. We look forward to coming back with a bigger group!

Chattahoochee River Tubing was such a blast! We arrived around 11am and was directed by the parking attendant to a spot. Porta potties are stationed outside if you need a quick bathroom break before hoping on the bus that brings you to the river. We signed in and were advised to leave our towels in the car because they can get heavy in the tube. We decided on the closed tubes and I'm so glad we did because even though it was 90 degree out the water was freezing. I highly advise you to get an extra tube to hold all your things, and get the straps to tie the tubes together if you're with a group (or bring your own rope). We brought our food, drinks, and along with our bags and shoes everything fit perfectly in the extra tube. The whole river ride lasted about four hours so bring lots of sun block, water, speaker (but if you forget yours rentals are available), and an umbrella for covering if you're worried about burning. The only hiccup of the trip was we forgot our speaker on the tube (which we put in a pile with everybody else's tube at the end), but because we didn't physically bring it back we were charged a $40 fee.

I can't tell you how many times I've driven past here, but I never thought to go until my boyfriend's friend suggested it. So we got here to meet them, and it was a fiasco from start to finish, some of which was not the tubing company's fault. I brought my daughter and her friend as well since they had never been. I would NOT recommend coming here in May. It is way way too cold. It felt like an ice bath the entire journey. Also, I wish we had better information on the trip prior, because I didn't know about getting paddles and other viable stuff that would have been nice to know prior to making this trip. When his friend told us it's three hours, we both were shocked, because we had things to do, and that seemed too long. Also, I like staying active, so sitting in a tube that long sounded awful but with the girls there, we didn't want to disappoint them. My boyfriend was a trooper. I know he absolutely hated every minute of being in that cold water, and we got stuck multiple times which made our trip almost 5 hours somehow. If you do this, bring a paddle! It will save you. I saw a couple guides along the river, but neither of them offered to help us. And if you're looking for clean, this sure isn't it. Why don't they have a time frame for the buses to pick you up? We went to QT and missed our group's bus, so we had to wait on another one, and by the way, all four of us were left standing to our destination, and that's safe why? The stuff we brought had to sit in our laps the whole trip. Even the girls had a terrible time, and didn't ever want to come back. The guy who bought everyone a tube got the kids the kiddie vests that barely fit my daughter and definitely didn't fit her friend. So I tried to return those at the end of the trip, and was told I would get a callback the next day. Never got it. All in all, a waste of time and money. $25 a person plus $10 in childrens vests that didn't fit...we wouldn't come back here if it were free.

I was a little hesitant because the reviews are mixed, but decided to go for it anyways. It was great!! It's so affordable. $10 a tube and that's all you need to pay. I suggest buying some rope from homedepot before to tie all the tubes together, otherwise you'll be paying $1 a connector (which isn't bad regardless). There is a $1 park fee. So your totally price for a great afternoon should be around $12. Compared to other tubing companies, this place is the closest to the city and most affordable. You do have to wait around for a bus, but there's no rush during summer days. The guides were all so helpful and made sure you knew all of the safety precautions without taking up too much of your time. I will definitely be returning

We always go to Helen but thought we'd try this place since it's about 10 mins from our house. The plus and minus are as follows: Pro: 1. beautiful easy float done the river that took about 2 hrs. Never got stuck or hung up on shallow parts and there's really no rapids at all. It's a nice smooth float. The float was not crowded at all at any point on the river, except during initial launch. 2. All the staff is super nice and try to be helpful. Cons: 1. This place makes no sense. We got there about 2.45, stood in line and paid then had to wait for about 45 mins in blazing sun and humidity because they didn't have any tubes. Bus load after bus load came and dropped off people, but no tubes. Finally got on the bus and a short drive took us to launch site. Tons of tubes. Just sitting there on the grass. I mean really. The communication between "base", "launch" and "end pickup" is broken. At "launch site" we had to hear a speech about how things work and then move to river to get in. All good. "End pickup" was smooth but again...tons of tubes hanging out and people hopping on buses to get taken back to base camp. Why did we wait 45 mins? There's a flow of people but no flow of tubes. 2. They sell out of tubes. What place who operates a popular summer activity would not have enough materials on hand? We were part of the crew that made the cut and got tubes but then had to wait 45 mins because they had no tubes. People after us were told sorry were sold out but please feel free to wait just in case. Total revenue loss. 3. They have a tent at "base" selling food and drinks. During the 45 min wait we went to get some cold water. Nope. None. Again, revenue loss. 4. Masks. No masks required anywhere including on buses that are packed to the max with no A/C and only windows open. No hand sanitizer to be seen anywhere. Will not go back. Helen even with the drive there is our preferred tubing place.

It's very easy to inflate and carry down to the river and you can reuse time and time again. If you go this route, it's best to go with another party that can park at the finish spot so you have a ride back to your car when you're all done. The water is pretty calm. It can be a little chilly at first, but you get used to it eventually. I like to bring a paddle with me so I can better control my float. The whole trip takes about 3 hours to enjoy. So bring some friends, pack some drinks and snacks, and enjoy a lazy afternoon on the river.

Upon arriving, the website says that they have different hours of operation on the weekdays and weekends and depending on water levels and condition of day. We came on a Saturday around 3, when last bookings for rentals are at 4. One staff member said they stopped doing walk ins, however they changed their mind so we got lucky.. they charge for the tube which was $22, a "convenience fee," and shuttle charge for $4 a person. And if you want a square cooler tube it was $10. It was a kind of an unprofessional environment with young adults working the table to take in our payments. You have to leave one ID of the whole group you're with for security reasons I'm assuming, but you get it back at the end. Now, we got our tubes and life jackets and off to the Chattahoochee we go! The water was freezing cold even though it was a hot 90° outside. The thing that sucked most was my tube I was in, was already starting to deflate, along with another tube deflating slowly as well. That's wonderful.. There was an accident that happened on the ride down the river. My boyfriend had a shoulder injury previously, and somehow his shoulder dislocated while trying to push off a pier to get us away from the side.. well that was unexpected. It was tough to even get him out of the river and we didn't finish until after 6pm almost 7 by the time I went to grab my ID. And on my way towards the shuttle, not only did it stopped at 6, I wasn't even told they stopped running by that time. So the only option was to take a 5 minute lyft/Uber or walk 30+ minutes back to the starting point where the car is parked.

When I contacted the outfit for scheduling and requesting an easy hike on a Saturday, Dante (the guide and the person behind the company, I think) emailed back letting me know there would be an easy hike on the following Sunday. We figured that was fine, even though that meant skipping church and doing something that would take several hours on the day before we're all supposed to be back at work. I read these other two reviews and got a little nervous, so I tried to prepare everyone in the group. We brought additional food with us. First, I get really hungry. Second, I'm vegetarian and I figured that wouldn't necessarily be accommodated, so I didn't bother to ask.. Also, I had to not let the spelling and punctuation in the emails bother me. So I got over that. Thursday before the hike, we got an email letting us know we would be doing our hike at Virginia Bryant State Park in Royston, GA and the wine tasting at Boutier Winery, about 12 miles away from the park. He also told us what he was bringing for lunch, and told us to bring our own water. I thought that specificity was helpful. That state park is 90 miles away from Atlanta, so we carpooled and gave ourselves plenty of time. We found the group pretty easily (just drive toward the ranger station and look for a group of people). The guide is really nice and friendly. He had us all introduce ourselves. During the hike, he also walked his way up and down the line of folks, making sure to talk to everyone, and, I think, keeping track of folks so no one was left behind. We stopped twice so people could have water and a snack (that we brought ourselves - that wasn't provided) and so we could take some photos. Our group paced together pretty well, so staying together was easy. We had lunch together at a covered area in the park. He set out the food (wraps, turkey, mustard, carrots, arugula, kale, dates, pomegranates). It was the perfect hiker's lunch, light, not too much. I didn't really need to have brought additional food for the meat-eaters. I did have my own no-meat sandwich. We then drove over in a caravan to the winery. We got the six tastes, which were pretty generous pours. We could have paid for additional tastes or glasses of wine. The wine was pretty decent. Previous encounters with Georgia wines had been with wines made of muscadine, which is super-nasty. This stuff was all right. I would never pay $95 for this, but it was fine for $39. Now that we know about that park and winery, we can do it on our own. I would recommend this for folks who are hesitant about hiking alone or don't know the area.
