regular size chocolate hazelnut bubble tea
    Ashley G.

Yikes! I am not sure if it was because I came here on a Sunday afternoon, or because it was Mothers Day, and everyone was out and craving some bubble tea, but holy cow was it busy in here today! When the hubby and I walked in, there was a line to the back of the store. If I would have known at the beginning that it would have taken 30 minutes to get in and out, I would have left right away. I am not a bubble tea fanatic, but decided to stick it out and see what this place was all about. This place attracts everyone from the everyday hipster to little kids who drag their parents here wanting their bubble tea! I must admit, it's a neat joint and I could totally see this place being a chill place to hang out for a bit, but the vibe was kinda ruined by the wait times. By the time we got to the cash to place our order I was unaware that there was a whole process to it all, with tons of choices that you can add to your drink. Totally understand now why the line moves so slow when its busy. The cashier was super friendly and patient, I even overheard her making recommendations regarding what works well with certain drinks, keeping her composure during the mad house that was in Chatime. I went with just a basic chocolate smoothie (lol, I know, why would I order that when I could get some cool bubble tea?) The hubby on the other hand ordered the chocolate hazelnut bubble tea which I drank pretty much half of because it was pretty addicting and pretty good. We also picked up some macarons, a vanilla one and coffee one. They were OK, but not worth $2.95 in my opinion. We waited another good 10 minutes while our order was being prepared and could not be happier when they called out our number so we could get our drinks and go. If you happen to walk by this place and its not busy, I say check it out, but if it there is a line, be prepared to wait...a long...time...

Regular size roasted milk tea with grass jelly, 30% sugar ("slight sugar"), & regular ice

Nobody hurt me - I only had my first Chatime experience ever a few months ago with Samantha M. I posted it to my Insta Stories and Chatime Canada called me out and asked me where I've been LOL I wasn't really in the mood for tapioca, so tried grass jelly for the first time with their super popular roasted milk tea. I tend to find bubble tea extremely sweet, but I also didn't want just straight up cold tea, so I tried out 30% sweetness ("slight sugar") with a regular amount of ice. I really enjoyed it! Love that you can choose how much or how little ice and sugar you want, and the stabbing of the straw into the cup is fun :) That being said, we weren't in a rush, so we took our time ordering and hung out for a bit, but it started to get really busy really fast and at one point, the lineup went around the back wall. I'll be honest, I started getting anxious with all of the people and was happy to take my drink to-go. The location that'll be opening soon on Merivale will be the biggest one in Canada, so maybe next time I'll hit that one up, instead. Bonus points: There are outlets near the walls to charge your devices!

I love Chatime so of course I had to check out the one in Ottawa! Consistent drinks with the ones in Toronto. Love that you can customize the sugar and ice level. My fave drink is the roasted milk tea with grass jelly! They also had a ferrero rocher drink as the holiday special and it was yum! Love the amount of seating and how clean it was in here. Service was a little slow though on a Saturday.

Not the best bubble tea to go to. I have been here multiple times and my order was done wrong in most of them, otherwise I would give them 4/5. This one time I asked for warm bubble tea I got an ice cold one. They do give you a new tho. The variety of tea is very good and the prices are slightly cheaper than in Presotea. They do have some flavours like Qewqew that are really good so it is not a terrible place. Just be very clear with what you want.

I'm so happy Cha Time has FINALLY come to Ottawa. I'm sure everyone agrees that we have been waiting for eons. Chatime has such a vast selection of bubbletea and really is going to step up the bubble tea scene in Chinatown !!! Favs: Taiwan plum green tea Super sour but I love this refreshing drink Roasted rice black tea This is a basic. Must try. Taro smoothie At chatime they use real taro!!! So it appears more white in the color instead of purple. QQ lychee yogurt Just sweet and delightful :) At the cha time chains you're able to customize Ice levels, sugar levels -- which is key!

Visited Chatime with some friends on a Friday evening. It was very busy so the line-up was quite long and service a bit slow. But we were pleased with the many options from the menu and even more so with the available cakes and macaroons in the glass counter. I had a coconut milk tea with tapioca and it was great! It was the perfect blend of tea and coconut flavour for me. My friends also all enjoyed their bubble tea. One of them had the matcha mille-crepe, and she said she really enjoyed it. My only complain is the music. It was way too loud, it was hard to hear each other chatting. The tables were very basic, the chairs not that comfortable and there was nothing else keeping us there. I would probably drop by to grab a bubble-tea to go in the future, but wouldn't stay to hang out again.

Being that I was visiting and looking up places for boba. This place popped in, and was fairly new at the time. What I did know, that they were building a Chatime back from where I live. So I was excited to try this place and the reviews from here sounded very promising. Overall, I wasn't sure on what to pick. There was so many options and I usually opt for a Taro slush or milk tea. But I got the Taro added with coconut I believe. Very something different than what I've tasted. But they also have desserts which are pretty cool too. Nonetheless, it's almost like every boba spot I've been to. Nothing too special or different about it.

Good tea, good time, good company (:

Went during the week with some co-workers & wasn't busy at all. Service was fast and friendly. I like how they do not leave the ice in your bubble tea though I didn't find they shook mine enough as some of the drink was a bit too warm for my liking. Ive heard the night time staff is better at making the drinks. Also, the decor of the place is extremely cute. Overall, very yummy and would return without a doubt. I've been to chatime locations in Toronto and Vancouver and this location does not disappoint. I'm super happy that Ottawa is starting to up its bubble tea game!

So many varieties of tea, milk tea, slushie and others. Sugar roasted milk tea and aloe honey lemon are very good.

Drunken Monkey with spinach: - I ordered the Drunken Monkey with vegan protein powder and spinach. I found my drink lacked a bit of flavour (they scoop the fruit into the cup before blending and a big chunk of fruit created a big air hole, which I think is the reason my drink lacked flavour) but I was really happy with the whole ingredients used and the added protein powder. The service was a little slow but the employee was really nice and I enjoyed looking at the artwork on the walls. Would We Return? My first visit to a Whole Foods Market was years ago, after completing a job interview in Yorkville…read morein Toronto. I definitely remember what I got: a slice of tiramisu. At that time, it was the only Whole Foods in the greater Toronto area. Whole Foods has grown on me, likely because Markham has one and I frequent it often. I don't fit the profile of a typical Whole Foods shopper who tends to carry expensive handbags, must get everything organic, and can afford all things expensive, including tiny bottles of elixirs that extend their years on planet Earth. I like their dairy-free items. I love Carbonaut bread and the entire bakery section, including tiramisu. There are specific items that I get at this store. If I'm looking for romaine lettuce or celery, you'll likely see me at a grocery store that offers these items at normal, cheaper prices. Four years ago, I was in the Glebe and saw this Whole Foods store. I didn't go in. I had already got what I needed at a Metro. On my most recent visit, after spending a few hours exploring the area with a friend, I realized that I needed almond beverage and lemons. I had yet to set foot in any grocery store. They were good reasons to check this store out. I had parked underground. The elevator got me to this store. I exited the elevator on the main floor to hit Winners. This store has a cafe that occupies the entire floor. It was busy just before noon. People must love getting coffee and a baked good here. When I returned just past 5 pm, you could hear crickets on this floor. The cafe was closed. It was different. My local one is still open when I'm there at 7 pm. I have yet to hit the cafe at any Whole Foods location. I took the escalator up to the second floor, which is where the entire supermarket is. I immediately found almond beverage. Organic. Sugar-free. Perfect. I also found the produce area. The Rainier cherries looked good. They were also so expensive that I blocked the price out and moved on. I got a couple of lemons. You could get a bag of six. The price was the same if you calculated how much one lemon was going for, so you might as well pick your own pristine-looking lemons. I looked around. It has the usual salad and hot food bars. You pay by weight, which does add up if you aren't careful. There were lots of snacks and drinks to choose from. A can of flavoured carbonated water was going for $2.69. It makes you wonder how this store determines the prices that it sets. It was enjoyable looking at the plants and flowers. It's a nice grocery store. I had an equally nice woman at the checkout area. I paid for my items with a debit card. I didn't need a bag. My lemons were already in one, so I carried it and my carton of almond beverage to the elevator. It was convenient taking the elevator down to the underground parking lot. I walked to my car, paid for parking, and left. The lemons and almond beverage were great. I'm glad that I got what I needed at this store. I had a fun time shopping here. It's my second Whole Foods that I've been to where it has two floors. We'll see if I return in another four years. Maybe I'll try the cafe... haha! (262)

When she told me about this special, I had the following day to take advantage of this offer before it disappeared. After a great day shopping, I capped it off by getting a drink from this CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice. Driving over to this location made me cut through a part of Ottawa that I used to spend a lot of time walking around. I used to stay at a hotel at 140 Slater Street and it's still a hotel! I reckon that walking from there to this CoCo would take ten minutes. I parked on Bank Street. It was free parking by the time that I got there after 6 pm, so I was thrilled. If you're there during the daytime, you'll have to pay, which is the only downside to visiting this location. This CoCo is on the northwest corner of Bank Street and Somerset Street West. It looks like a tiny store, but it isn't. It's deep when you walk in. I had the nicest woman help me out. I asked if the Canada Day drink was still available. It was. I got it with less ice. The sugar level was fixed. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. I thanked her and happily headed back to my car. The Canada Day drink is the Three Guys Milk Tea, but two other guys in the form of toppings decided to join in on the fun. I will say that you you love toppings in your bubble tea, this one is for you. One word: hefty! My large cup was a third full of toppings. I thoroughly enjoyed this bubble tea on my birthday. You didn't know what toppings you were going to suck up and enjoy with each sip. The milk tea was a perfect balance of strong tea with the perfect milky consistency that you'd expect from CoCo. The fixed sugar wasn't horrible. I'm guessing that it was at 25%, which I was fine with for someone who generally cuts out the sugar. Frankly, I was stuffed eating dinner and having this Canada Day drink with a built-in meal. I loved it all! I liked visiting this store. I hope to do it again when I'm back. It was great dropping by after rush hour and parking for free as if I was getting away with murder. (281)

I'm always excited to try out new bubble tea places, and it was pretty good. I went after work on a Monday and there was a steady stream of customers. There was a slight wait for my drink, but it wasn't that long. Service was very friendly but they didn't have some drinks and sort of discouraged me from ordering some drinks, lol. So I expressed interest in the Taro Milk Tea, but wanted to ask what kind of milk they used (like non-dairy creamer (yuck, not a fan of Coffee Mate-like products) or real cow's milk and if the latter, 2%, whole milk, or skim). The guy at the cash register didn't seem to know the answer to any of my questions and deferred them all to the guy making the drinks, lol. I was told that if I wanted a taro drink he recommended the Taro Frappe because the Taro Milk Tea is just powder and milk. The menu actually says "made with real taro" but hey if the dude making the drink is telling me they use powder, I'm figuring it's made with powder, lol. So I decided to pass on all taro drinks. I asked about the Hokkaido Milk Tea and was told they didn't have that. Ok then. The guy suggested I get a fruit tea. So I asked about the Wintermelon tea and I didn't quite catch what he said about it, but he then said he recommended the Hawaiian Green Tea because "it's really good." The Hawaiian Green Tea was listed as Mango, Peach and Passion Fruit and I don't like the passion fruit seeds that usually come with passion fruit teas, and told him that and he said no problem he could sub out the passion fruit with a different fruit like strawberry. I said sure and got the Hawaiian Green Tea with strawberry instead of passion fruit and with tapioca. It was $6.49. I got no sugar and less ice (which they call "cold." They call the default amount of ice "freezing" and no ice "lukewarm"). The drink was quite tasty, even though it didn't have any real fruit chunks in it that I could see. I read on the Skip the Dishes menu for the Kingston location that they use fruit jam. I'm happy to report that my drink wasn't too sweet. The tapioca were soft and chewy. Overall, I was pleased with my drink. Happy to have another bubble tea option in town. Paid street parking or paid parking lot/garage/parkade only.
