It is truly a unique and wonderful way to meet like-minded parents and join a community of your child's friends and classmates. I really look forward to my "Special Days", where I get to spend the day in the classroom with my daughter, chat with her friends and see what goes on in her school. Then when she comes home talking about her day or her friends, I really know what or who she is talking about and it's wonderful to share that world with her. My third child is now in the 3's class, with Miss Susan and Miss Lisa. I can't say enough about their love and respect for our children as little people. Education is play-based, always with humor and understanding, and in the spirit of fun. Family events are organized regularly, and we remain friends with families whose children have moved on to elementary school. My girls are absolute ambassadors of OKS, as I see the totality of what Oak Knoll offers, in them. The teachers and faculty are like family, the care they exude is ever so natural and nurturing. Don't get me started on the academics. In the lower school, the classes are interwoven. I was actually intrigued to learn that in the sixth grade for instance, as the origin of the golden ratio was being taught in math class, the students were also being shown how it was applied to the Mona Lisa painting in their Arts class, it's application in the Renaissance era in Social Studies, and there was reference to the concept in Science, and even in the library classes. My sixth grader was absolutely fascinated relating her experience. As for the nurturing environment, you can sense the importance of core values in the school, it only takes one visit to feel it in the air. The students are also exposed to practical religious tenets, helping those in need, etc. I honestly cannot say enough about Oak Knoll. I just want to update that Bright Horizons never reached out except by letter to pay for a week of…read moretuition. The week that I had to pull my son out bc of their neglect. My son still remembers what he endured, and luckily, he refers to it as his "tough learning experience". Happy to report he is a very happy, well-adjusted boy and doing great in his school in spite of this sad, painful experience. I don't think i however, will ever get over the fact that I put him there.

Wonderful school with teachers who go the extra mile with each child. I love that there is a six…read moremonth age span in each class and that the student:teacher ratio is beyond what is required in the state of new jersey. They also take two year olds, not just two and a half year olds, like other schools. And they change diapers! The director is really educated and practical, which is very refreshing. The curriculum is age-appropriate and focuses a lot on social skills which is so important at the preschool level. In addition, the preschool provides many additional activities such as lunch bunch and enrichment programs. An extra bonus is curbside service. The wonderful teachers will take the children out of the car at the start of school and put them back in at the end of school. Parents never need to leave their cars! My daughter is very shy and was hesitant to start school. After one day at the Gingham Giraffe Preschool, she could not wait to go back! She loved it so much that we decided to send her an additional day. My husband and I truly feel blessed to have our daughter in such an amazing preschool!
