Since this was our second vineyard today, we decided to only share a bottle; it was only bottle service. But then the team member started giving us a few tastings?!?! Not sure if it was due to closing time and they just wanted to finish the bottles...? Either way, GREAT service! Our friends let me select the wine and vintage. After trying a few cabs, I decided on the 2011 cab which I felt was the smoothest of the 3 splashes. If you were not so far away, I might consider becoming a member. Well, I am still considering it... Ambiance - Beautiful winery. And we were able to catch the early sunset during the winter hours. Huge indoor and outdoor space, my pictures do not do it justice. Two unisex restrooms on either side of the estate. Plenty of parking, well we did get here an hour before closing. Service - 5 stars, from the greeter to the person serving us at our tables. Price - $55 a bottle + generous tip. And of course we bought a few bottles to go. After fighting to try to pay, our friend won and would NOT let us pay/treat. So nice to have good friends! I've never seen that before at a wine bar-especially in this day and age-but it honestly left us wanting to come back. They just opened last year so I guess not many people know about it. But the drive up is rough and winding. The one way dirt road is shared with hikers too. It is sister winery to Mount Eden. Mount Eden is only open weekdays while Domaine Eden is only open weekends. They serve both wineries' wines for tasting. They have 5 tasting flights varying from $30, $40, $45, $60, and $65. 3 wines per flight and they pour a good portion. We got to try 3 different flights to share. Mount Eden Estate , Chardonnay, and Cabernet flight. All the wines were pretty good. Fruit forward and bold. Our favorites were the first Chardonnay , Pinot noir Tanaka project , and Cab from Mount Eden library. I believe it was 3 bottles purchase to waive a tasting fee. Pricey wines. Beautiful winery nestled into the wilds of Saratoga! A few…read morethings to note: 1. The wine is all aeronautically themed with a very unique flavor that made the tastings quite memorable. We only tried the reds, FYI, but they had a nice selection of whites too. 2. If you buy 2 bottles you get 1 free tasting, 3 bottles, they comp two tastings. 3. Be sure to visit the little house with a bunch of memorabilia. The history of the farm is super cool. They have free recipe cards too! 4. Horses! They currently board a LOT of horses, and have clear signage posted to keep your distance as to not spook them. 5. Bring walking shoes! There are trails you can explore around the winery and there's lots of dusty areas, so keep the dress shoes at home (or bring a change of footwear). Caveat anyone with motion sickness in the car, as the drive there is WINDY, but beautiful. I can't wait to return and explore the grounds more!

I don't really like writing negative reviews, but here goes…read more I have been visiting this winery for over 10 years. I mainly go to enjoy live music and socializing with friends. Also the drive and location is beautiful scenery. However after Covid, things have changed a lot. In the past you would find an available table, bring your picnic lunch (in the patio area with the shaded overhang), go inside the tasting room, sample some wines and buy a bottle. Great experience then. Also well versed in wine employees helping you. This is not the case at all now! Since Covid, you can no longer bring in your own food and they would not let us even go into the tasting room! You are forced to sit at a table and have "table service." I can't even think of it as table service because over this past weekend we had horrible service both days we went. We like to see our favorite local bands play at this beautiful winery. On Saturday when we went, we were immediately hounded by our server about what we wanted to order. We hadn't even had time to look at the menu. They bring only one printed menu and tell us to scan their QR code. That's fine, but some of the people in our group are old school and prefer a printed menu. I am shocked how much $$ the wine is here. It used to be reasonable but it is not anymore. The cheapest bottle is a bottle of Rose for $40. It was just meh. All the other wine choices are $46+ per bottle. And if I'm going to be buying some wine and enjoying drinking it with friends and enjoy live music it would be nice if I could bring in my own snacks/picnic so that I don't have to spend more. Our table of 5 spent well over $300 during the 3 hours we were there. On Sunday, we had even worse service. As soon as we walked in and sat down they saw I had a soft ice cooler. I was immediately told that we can't bring in our own food. I explained to the server and said I brought in a cooler because you do not have ice here, and the leftover food I purchased the day before (cheese, salami) was getting very hot during that service while enjoying music. So I wanted to be more prepared to put the food in a cooler as needed. Also, some of us like "ice" water and on a hot day, the water they bring out is not cool. The way I was first approached was very rude. Our main server that helped our group was not very nice at all and rude. She kept coming over to us when we first got there to see if we were ready to order. None of us had time to even look at the menu. She also did not know anything about wine. That was obvious. When one of us in the party asked about the different chardonnay choices which one is more oaky or buttery, she did not know and she did not even try and get more information for us. Also it was a very hot day in the high 90's and most of us wanted lighter white wines rather than red. The winery needs to get rid of their "table service", the servers are inexperienced with wines, rude, pushy to put in an order and impatient. They need to bring back how they used to have a nice experience here before Covid. When I told my rude server I wanted to get my bill and check out, she said "we have bad wifi over here at this table so you need to come up to our monitors for that..." then she walked away. Well that was BS cuz prior to that we were ordering our options from their QR code and they had good wifi for that. I guess she didn't like that I never came to their monitors where you "check in" and she came back to me and suddenly she was able to help me at my table to check out. So sad how downhill this place has gone. I hope the owner will think about how the after Covid changes are and that the staff is rude and not experienced with wine.

As we worked thorough our tastings we were delighted to be given another extra pour that was similar to our flights. Each time we were given a wine/new wine to try we were provided with some information about the grapes and the style the wine was made - tasting notes with flavor profiles for each wine were listed on the back of the menu with all the wines they had. Overall we had a great experience and both ended up going home with at least a bottle. I went home with the rosé and merlot, and I was tempted to go home with even more than one bottle of that rosé. Definitely plan to come back here and taste again sometime!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience laced with philosophy and stories of the winemaker community in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
