This spot certainly has a country feel to it. The total opposite of Napa in my opinion. The grounds have a man-made pond with an area for live music. A flight of four wines will set you back $18. There was only one person available to pour for the entire winery so it did take a while to get to us. Honestly wasn't that crazy about the wines, but the outdoor area is relaxing and there isn't anything like it in the area. read more

Went here with two toddlers after picking strawberries nearby. It was a hit! They have great outdoor lawn that kids can play at and willow trees that provide shade. They have wine tastings, by the bottle and even some cocktail type drinks. I got a peach bubbly cocktail drink, fantastic. Despite it being super busy, one of the staff came out to our spot to pour wine for the wine tasting one wine at a time. Seems like a very wholesome place. I love getting out and finding new places that are local and this place is so beautiful. It's tucked in and you really would not even know it was here. The scenery here is beautiful, and if you have a chance to come in before sunset, it is breathtaking. The place is run by husband and wife team, Bryan and Michelle and they are so sweet. Don't be afraid to flag down your host, we flagged him down for everything to which he responded with swiftness! Not a big wine person but my friend texted me that they were having a bingo night, I never played bingo before but this was something I didn't want to miss. So I bought two tickets, one for me and one for my husband. He was so happy to relax and enjoy himself after a long work week. What a lovely winery, right here in Brentwood! The landscaping is done beautifully, Parking was a breeze. The sun setting over Mt. Diablo was breathtaking. Wine was delicious. People were fun and respectful. We went home like we just found our date night spot. The next week was Father's Day weekend and Serendipity Cellars were having a Father's Day picnic celebration. You could bring your own food but not beverages. So, we invited my mother in law to join us at the winery. She was also impressed with the gardens and views. We sat at a picnic table with our kids for a while but they went to play corn hole, so we went to the patio, where only adults are allowed. We could have stayed all day listening to the live music and enjoying the ambiance. She bought a bottle to share with my husband. I had a lavender spritzer. Very delicious, with a real sprig of lavender. I noticed they also have great looking charcuterie boxes for sale. Don't even know where to start, let's put it this way , if I could give them a thousand stars I would! I made contact with Serendipity Cellars via Instagram, I had a few questions regarding their stay, wine tasting and reservations, they answer right away, and were extremely helpful since the beginning. (Basically I wanted to celebrate my bday at a place where we could have a place reserved and I was wondering if after the tasting we were gonna have to move from the seating area like Napa). My party all showed up at different times so that made our wine tasting run behind, however at no point I felt pressured by the patrons, instead they were kind, helpful and friendly, they made all of us (a party of 15 ) felt extremely welcome, we were all first timers , & now we are all loyal customers. Serendipity it's a very special place, the owners are working also their friends, you feel a great vibe in there, like you enter a twilight zone :) of happiness. I made my reservations online, we got 5 different tastings, Fridays they are open from 4-7pm they have a band, you can bring your own snacks or food, there's also a taco truck on sight, we were very lucky because since it was Saint Patrick's Day they were giving complimentary green beads, cool glasses and lemon bars & chocolate. The Wine is made in there & you can see the vines. There's parking all around the premises. There's all kinds of seating area like tables with benches, stool bars, couches etc.. the pond is very pretty , when you go ask for Louis the crocodile:D We had such a great experience that I believe this one is the longer review I had ever written, but I can't explain you how grateful and bless I am to meet Michele , Bryan , Tom and their whole team, I love this place so much, that I wanted to be selfish and gate keep because of how great they all are! We had an absolutely fantastic time at Serendipity last weekend celebrating my and my friends' 30th birthdays with a group of girlfriends. From the moment we walked in around 1:00 PM, the staff was incredibly friendly, especially Caterina, who poured our tasting and was so knowledgeable and welcoming. The vibes were just perfect! We ended up staying for hours (and buying quite a few bottles!) after our wine tasting. The atmosphere just kept getting better as the day went on and it got a bit more crowded - it was such a great place to be. The DJ was a fantastic touch and really added to the lively energy. One of the things we loved most was being able to bring in our own food, which was perfect for having some snacks to enjoy while we spent the afternoon soaking up the sun at a beautiful winery. I've been to Serendipity a few times before, but it was a first for all of my friends. They absolutely loved their experience and had such a great time! Disappointing Experience Despite a Lovely Setting My friends and I recently decided to explore a local winery for a wine tasting experience instead of heading to Napa or Livermore. We chose here for its beautiful setting, and initially, everything seemed promising. Upon arrival, our experience was immediately off putting with the check-in and check-out processes. Despite arriving at opening time when it wasn't busy, the staff couldn't find my reservation and I had to "prove" I had one, even though I had paid in advance, and it wasn't busy. Luckily, I had my confirmation email, but I was still met with resistance regarding the payment. We had a reservation for four people, but due to an emergency with a friend's pet, only three of us could attend. Despite explaining the situation, they refused to refund the fourth tasting. The most frustrating part was when we decided to upgrade to the cookie pairing. After finally locating my original reservation, the staff refunded it and made us pay again for FOUR cookie tastings, instead of allowing us to pay for just three. I don't understand why this was necessary, given the circumstances. At this point we were super frustrated and just wanted to get on with it so we took the fourth set of cookies home. While the winery itself is beautiful, and Andrew provided excellent service, the handling of our reservation made us feel unwelcome. Also, the unwillingness to accommodate our situation left us with a sour taste. It's disappointing that what could have been a lovely experience was overshadowed by poor customer service. read more

Such a resounding 5 star experience. Do you ever go to a place where every single component of the visit blows away your already high expectations? This is it. A couple of highlights. - The scenery feels like paradise. The pond, even big dock with pilings to complete the look. - The wine is in a different class from the others in the area (in my opinion from my small sample size) - class as in a good way - The staff are incredibly friendly and you can tell they want to make your experience the best it possibly can be. Tom was just awesome - the architecture is striking both inside and out, as is the garden. if you take the time to look, you will notice so many intricate details that don't jump out, but I am sure, took a great deal of thought, planning, and money. Think of sipping a very good glass or two of wine, overlooking a beautiful, natural landscape, a sparkling pond, then their very vibrant vineyards immediately behind this immediate view you are immersed in, and in the backdrop, Mt Diablo - all while listening to live music. That is where I will be on Friday. So thankful this place is in Brentwood. I truly feel that this winery will put this little region on the map as a wine region. read more

I discovered Serendipity Cellars in a search for wineries near Tracy. Two of my friends were visiting and I wanted up to go somewhere off the beaten path. We ended up going to a winery in Byron that day (yes, there is one!), but Serendipity looked really promising. I ended up exploring the website and discovered their upcoming Lobster Feed. I love seafood and I'm always on the look out for interesting things to do, so I asked my sister and her husband to join me. It was a lovely experience. The grounds are lovely. A combination of a lush green lawn, water features, pretty landscaping, and gorgeous vines make for a pretty picture. I can imagine the great pictures (I have some) and folks wanting to have their wedding there. The family that owns the winery is wonderful. Michele Lucay made sure to greet every guest and was genuinely warm and welcoming. It really made an impression since I was a new face at the winery. It was obvious that a lot of the folks there for the event knew each other. Not only and she and her husband hospitable hosts, they make some really good wine. My rose was refreshing, as was the sauvignon blanc. We got a special taste of their Tempranillo, which will be released sometime next year. It's going to be something special. I will definitely be back and will bring my friends. It's only 1/2 hour from my house and much less crowded than a trek to Livermore. First I would like to respond to Lynn C's awful review. She evidently does not know wine. My BF and I discovered this beautiful winery a couple of weeks ago for something to do while we are in CA working for a couple months. I AM VERY picky about wines and we ended up buying several bottles after our wine tasting. The hosts are knowledgable, pleasant and make you feel as though you have know them forever. We went back the next Friday for the live music and met knew friends and the owner Michelle is a gem. We are going again tomorrow. Such a fantastic family living the dream and bringing their community in to share their beautiful grounds, delicious wines and fantastic customer service. While we are in town this is our go to winery and if back in the area, we will definitely visit them again. read more
