Seeing him so happy, relaxed, and genuinely enjoying himself made all the difference. Roy clearly loves what he does and treats the dogs like his own. Roy at PawPaw is truly amazing and the only person I trust. I came home to a beautiful, clean and better dog than when I left!! It's like she remembers her early training again-- she sits on command, is quiet on command (now HOW did you do that??!!) and is just perfect!! Holy cow!! While we made sure our venue was dog-friendly, we needed someone we could trust to take care of him during the festivities and bring him back to our Airbnb once the reception started. We are so incredibly happy and grateful we found Keelie! From the very start, Keelie was super responsive and friendly. We met a couple of weeks before the wedding so Goose and Keelie could get to know each other and we could go over all the logistics. On the big day, we didn't have to worry about Goose at all--Keelie went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and safe. Goose is big and energetic, but with Keelie, he was on his best behavior! Keelie even took adorable photos of Goose throughout the day, which wasn't part of the agreement but meant so much to us. She dropped him off at our Airbnb, gave him another walk, stayed with him until he finished his dinner, and let us know when she left. During my dog's 4-day stay, I checked in with Roya who assured me that everything was going well. I only found out through a phone call from a concerned person at the dog park that my poodle had escaped from Roya's back yard and had run several blocks into a busy intersection. Thankfully a regular patron of the park happened to be walking his dogs in the area so he was able to call my dog over to the sidewalk where he grabbed her. Roya never called me or even mentioned this incident to me. I got the call about the escape a few hours before I was to pick my dog up from Roya's so I gave her the benefit of the doubt to discuss this with me when I arrived. When I asked her about Josie's stay, she said "everything was great". I asked if there were any problems. Roya paused and said that there was one problem in that a larger dog she was boarding had "attacked" (her word) a smaller dog. She said that my dog had become very shaky after this "attack" and wouldn't come from the corner of the dining room when she was called. I told her about the phone call and only then did Roya admit that my dog has escaped from a gap in her backyard fence soon after the incident with the other dogs. My 7lb poodle has no history of running away. It also concerns me that she did not conduct a temperament screening with Josie before accepting her for boarding. She also keeps dogs of all sizes in the same area. Note that she also made me pay for this visit and did not send home any of the toys I dropped off with my dog.
