Tonight's (Dec. 15, 2023, approximately 5pm) experience was a whole different experience. My six-year-old wanted some markers that were locked. She and I walked around the area for several minutes waiting for an associate. We were patient and were not in a rush at all. But when no associate appeared close to the area, we went to the framing department and asked for help. The associate was friendly, and she called someone to meet us in the aisle. A few minutes later, another female employee appeared. Immediately, she appeared upset. She pretty much stomped to the area where we stood and her body language showed impatience and she had an annoyed look on her face. While my daughter took a few seconds to decide on the colors that she wanted, this woman appeared irritated. As soon as my daughter picked out the markers, this employee pretty much yanked the markers from the hook as soon as she unlocked them. I held my hand out to receive the markers from her. With no eye contact, no smile, she immediately walked away and said to me while her back was turned to me, "They'll be at the front." I watched in shock as she sped away, my hand still in mid-air because I thought she would hand the markers to me. I followed her to the register and saw her angrily place the markers by a cashier then she stepped into the office. I was both shocked and angry. It appeared she was upset that she was called out of her office to unlock something for a customer. Even if that was the case, there was no reason for her to treat me like that. I made the decision to address her. She didn't have a name tag so I asked if she was the manager and if so, I sure hope she sets a better example for her employees. She confirmed that she is the on-duty manager. Being a loyal Michaels customer, who spends thousands on art supplies at Michael's, I was pretty much in shock that this manager thinks she can treat ANY customer this way. I'm sure this review will just get glossed over but I am hopeful someone notices and make sure this "manager" sets a better example for her employees and starts treating costumers better. No one deserves to be treated like that even if it's just for a small-craft purchase. No matter the case, I am still a buying customer.

Went here on a Saturday for lunch and placed an order to go. We were super excited to try out a new…read morevariety of food in the area! I don't know if it was an off day for them or what, but the POS system didn't seem to be working properly which seemed to cause some communication breakdowns and made everything slow down. We didn't end up getting our food for about 45 minutes and the people who ordered after us but were eating in the restaurant got their food before us. There seemed to be a lack of organization and it was pretty unpleasant to sit and wait for the food. Most of the people in the restaurant had a kind of uncomfortable look on their face because any disagreement in the kitchen was clearly heard by everyone, and there were many disagreements about timing of orders and location of where people should be in the kitchen. You could hear all of the yelling... That being said, lets get on to the food! We ordered the Jibarito wagyu beef sliders, the pineapple jerk crispy chicken wrap, the grilled blacken shrimp tapas, a beef picadillo empanada, and a vega baja chicken empanada. The beef sliders stole the show! The sauce and meat with the lettuce and tomato on the plantain bun was really well balanced and very flavorful. This would be a guaranteed order next time! The pineapple jerk chicken wrap didn't have as much jerk flavor as we were expecting, but overall it was pleasant. The shrimp tapas had well-sized shrimp and the avocado sauce balanced pretty well. We did expect more spice since it said blackened shrimp, but there wasn't any heat. Of the empanadas, the chicken was the preferred. They had a nice dough and the chicken adobo had a good flavor. The beef was fine, but was dominated by potato. Overall, the food was pretty solid and we would definitely go back for the sliders, but it seems that some kinks still need to be worked out. The wait time was too long, but the worst part of it was the amount of yelling that you sat through if you waited in the restaurant. Maybe ordering online and going to pick it up would give you a more pleasant overall picture, but it also seemed that the online orders were causing some of the communication issues in the kitchen, as in the time there we heard of multiple orders having to be remade and they were not always certain about what went to who. We're really hopeful that this gets figured out, because its super exciting to have another variety of food in Wausau! And they are pretty tasty!!
