Nice branch with the flawless ATMs I've come to love with this bank. Easy in and out.

Are you a responsible citizen who looks at your bank balance everyday to make sure all is good?…read more You are also mindful of when you mortgage payments and credit card bills are being deducted in various days of the month. Well, HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH A BANK THAT BACK DATE ACH PAYMENTS AND THEN SAY YOU DID NOT DEPOSIT / TRANSFER YOUR MONEY ON TIME??????? This happened to me TWICE. First Bank NJ / PA HELD my ACH Mortgage payment and then process the NEXT business day - THEN, back dated by ONE DAY. As a Result, my account is NOW Overdrawn by 1 Day which resulted in Bank fees. How is this right as the fist question? How is this Ethical? Why would a Bank come up with such a Scam - to HOLD payments until the NEXT day, and then Back Dated by 1 day to make unsuspecting customers pay MORE and MORE bank fees? BOB at Devon Branch keep saying he doesn't know who is in charge of this process, but he doesn't do it. Bob just makes phone calls to let customers know - that is his job - to make phone calls. Sooooo, we are back with another GAME - finger pointing. It's him / her, then, the next person says it's him / her. After 3 circles, no one knows who is in charge of that process anymore. WHY DO THESE BANKS PLAY GAMES WITH US? DO NOT BANK WITH FIRST BANK NJ / PA - UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING CHEATED BY THESE SCAMS - NOT BY CRIMINALS, BUT BY THE FIRST BANK ITSELF AND THEIR EXECUTIVES.

Unfortunately, my experience with this credit union has been terrible…read more In theory, the customer can transfer funds to and from an external financial source, but in practice, it does not work. This has created a huge problem for me, as I was withdrawing funds from a Roth IRA and attempting to deposit the funds into my Citadel account. Citadel failed the financial institution's verification process (and this happened with a major bank's verification as well). Another time, Citadel froze my debit card, ostensibly for suspected fraud. It was just me, in a neighboring state, trying to get $60 out of MY account. Later, Citadel reps at the Paoli branch claimed that Citadel had called me. They didn't call me. And when I called the main CS number, I got THE worst call center person, who treated me like I had stolen my identity. And that's the other thing--for a small, regional credit union, they SHOULD have localish, personalized service and at much longer hours. My credit union in Washington state did! You call them and get a local person right away who is very helpful. As other reviews note, you cannot get anything done over the phone or by email. And their call center service is horrid. The people in the Paoli branch are nice enough. But they are not trained consistently, and they seem afraid to ask other staff if what they're saying is correct. I think there's a lot of CYAing going on, like if they admit they don't know how to do something, or you as the customer say "but that's not what so and so said" they are afraid a boss will hear/find out and they'll get canned. So the customer ends up getting bad information. One example is with online banking--their system disallows a password from being saved. I brought this up as an inconvenience to a teller, who insisted that no, it had to be my browser. Another time, someone else in the branch admitted that yes, they don't allow this b/c of security.
