Convenient location and customer-focused service! This bank is in the heart of downtown and is centrally located to my home. It offers a decent parking lot which is usually monitored by a security guard - this puts me at ease especially being at a bank in a densely populated area. The interior is large and appears to have many offices/cubicles to one side, though I've never ventured over to that section. I've found just about all of the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable, and focused on the customer. They really do make an effort to go the extra mile. I came in about 6 months ago and asked if I could have a pen. The front greeter went to great lengths in finding their spare pens, going into three different areas of the bank to look. She eventually came out with three different types of pens - and provided me with all three! Totally unexpected but pretty cool. I appreciate how there are multiple ATM machines out front. I wish this location had a self-service interior kiosk as the other local locations do, but I will give it a pass as their lines typically aren't too long of a wait. I will be back for my banking needs!

The manager told me that if I brought in a letter from my previous bank saying that I had paid off the debt, then I could open an account. I did that, but they still wouldn't let me open an account. I went into the branch on four separate occasions to check on the status of my paid debt. Finally I called them and they said they showed I had paid off my debt, but that they couldn't issue me a debit card for SIX MONTHS. This was never mentioned by the manager or the personal banker. I imagine this is a good bank, but they clearly have poor communication and slow back end systems, as well as a manager who clearly leaves our rather important information.

I'm a stickler for customer service And admit that I don't understand how to use the many banking slips that are available for banking needs.. Instead of going to atm My preferred choice is always to make my way to state street and visit the gals that make my life easier Whether your teller for the day is Laureen or the morning Crystal.... You are always in good hands amongst the complete staff they employ. These ladies that serve customer needs on a day to day basis always know how to treat customers. Remembering their first name and addressing them by it when the situation permits Montecito bank and trust has been a great place for me to bank with since I first signed up And I'm thrilled to share with you all my experience Another thing that I should mention... Montecito bank and trust is very active in helping out around the community.. And getting involved in local organizations Your banking with them goes a long way!!!

We weren't delighted, but, you know, inertia... and we stayed put. Now Union Bank has sold out to US Bank. Have you noticed how the new model for banks is to open local, drum up some customers, and then sell themselves to a bigger bank that wants to open up in that region? That's what's happening here, and I am really NOT happy this time. The new guys take over, and within a couple weeks they start charging fees for the checking account that used to be free. That's the other new model: Fee your customers to death. I told the teller at the walk-up window I didn't like the new fee, and she chirped "Oh, the lady right before complained about that, too!" Does this sound like good customer service to you? I'm going to look around for a nice LOCAL credit union and move our money (a substantial sum, by the way) there. Do you think the CEO of US Bank has hiked Rattlesnake Canyon trail? Do you think he's gone to the Solstice Parade? Has he strolled up State Street and pondered the empty storefronts? Does he give a hoot about SB? Nope. He has no connection to our town whatsoever. Again: I'm going to find a LOCAL financial institute where the guy in charge CARES about SB, and knows that I do notice, and react, when they jack up my fees without even telling me. I told this story to a friend, and he'd just had an even worse US Bank experience. He tried to pay his dentist with his debit card. It was declined, even though he had thousands of dollars in his account. His US Bank branch (in Ventura) was right across the street. He went in (with his walker, by the way), livid, and they couldn't explain why it was refused. He's going to move his money out, too. Bye-bye.
