I've gone to this Chase Bank many times in the main drag of Pasadena as it's just so darn convenient. They have a few street spots you can pull into if you're only going to be there a few minutes which is very convenient. They have ATMs outside so you don't even need to step into the bank which I like. They usually work well but I have encountered several times having issues with them not dispensing cash or the machine just not working well, sometimes one is out of order. Generally though, it works well for me to get some cash moneys. Though I usually just use the ATM, I did pop into the bank this week to check out the interior. After going for so long, why not!? All was well there, too, with friendly staff! read more

RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL TREATMENT!! Specifically, upon requesting parking ticket validation, Naira Nerkararian immediately began yelling out, "Go over there (pointing to teller line) and finish your transaction first, and then we'll validate it. We are not a parking structure!" However, we were already done with our transaction. We are clearly educated enough (MD/MBA) to know the difference between a bank building and a parking structure (no lecture needed). If Ms. Nerkararian's life isn't going well or if she needs additional training on how to treat valued long time clients, it's not our personal fault, and she shouldn't take it out us. Naira Nerkararian provides horrible customer service. Naira Nerkararian is a very rude and unprofessional individual. TAKE YOUR VALUED BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!! read more

Chase Bank - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Pasadena, California

Chase Bank is the U.S. consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase & Co. This location is located between Lake Ave. and Colorado blvd. in Pasadena. Its gothic building is huge and on its lobby 3 large statues looking up the oculus ceiling. I came to do some banking business transactions. I was perfunctorily greeted and assisted by Vanessa Cordero at the teller counter. She was affable, pretty-competent, and professional. She went above and beyond to service my needs....financially. :D I'd promote her to a Supervisor Teller, if I was the Bank Manager/CFO. Overall, it's a commercial bank that I trust. I enjoyed this Chase location's service. read more

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at the Chase Bank on 860 E Colorado Blvd. I deposited checks into their ATM, and the machine literally ate them. Instead of actually helping me retrieve the checks, the bank staff just shrugged and gave me a customer service number to call, telling me there was nothing they could do. It blows my mind that a bank branch can have ATMs malfunction like this and then provide zero real assistance. I walked in hoping they might at least try to check the machine or acknowledge the issue, but all I got was redirected to a phone line. For something as important as checks, I expected far better support. Super disappointed and definitely rethinking whether I can trust this location (or Chase in general) with my money. read more

I came in earlier today and met up with my mom to be added to her account. The staff immediately welcomed me as I entered their building. The staff here are professional, kind, and efficient. The place itself is very clean and organized. I want to give a special thank you to Jesus who helped us today. I liked how he got straight to the point and got my mom and I out in a timely matter. If you need a costumer service assistant, AVOID this branch. We went here for asking for documents we need and this men which I regret not knowing his name, just tell us to go costumer service phone call. I get it, calling is better till we went to Alhambra brunch chase bank...they right away helped us and even print out the documents that we needed..! I don't know if he just don't wanna help, but even the way he behaves is just doesn't care. What kind of person who ask to a costumer with their hands in their pockets in the beginning...? I was just surprised... So I will repeat this to people who saw this, IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR THINGS , AVOID THIS BRUNCH. read more

It feels weird to post a Yelp review on a Chase branch, but let's just call this a PSA (at my misfortune). If you are a Chase customer, especially if you have a safe deposit box at the Chase branch located on Lake & Colorado in Pasadena, BEWARE! I'm here to share my own story, hoping to (1) raise awareness in the community, and (2) seek professional advice and possibly explore legal options. Even if this doesn't apply to you, I promise that reading about my encounter will at least be entertaining (sadly, in an unfortunate way)! (TL;DR- If you have a safe deposit box at Chase on Lake & Colorado in Pasadena with valuables stored inside, make an appointment ASAP and go check. Make sure nothing is missing!) I am still in disbelief that something like this could ever happen in modern-day banking, but it did and this took place very recently. I have been a Chase customer for nearly 20 years, and I have opened a safe deposit box at this Chase branch in early 2018. When my wife and I got married later that same year, quite a few pieces of precious metals, jewelries, and family heirlooms were gifted or passed down to us from families and friends. I, just like most people, wanted to store those valuables in a secure place, and I had decided to put everything in the safest place that I could think of- in my safe deposit box, inside the vault of a bank, at this Chase branch. Since then, I haven't needed to access my box until a couple of months ago. I made an appointment with a Chase rep, brought my ID for verification along with the original keys to my safe deposit box that were issued to me by Chase. And in case you haven't accessed a safe deposit box before, it's just like what you have seen in movies: once the bank rep verified my account info and ID, I walked into the bank vault with the rep, we located my box, inserted my key and the branch key, and turned both keys at the same time to open the door to my box. Everything up to this point was totally normal...until the rep reached inside and asked, "where's the box?" I first thought she was joking but quickly realized there's actually nothing inside. I am not referring to the content of the box being empty; I am saying that the entire physical box (along with all of its content) is missing!! It was just an empty space behind the locked door, again, just like in movies but happening to me in real life. The rep escalated this issue within the branch, and every Chase manager/Assistant VP/VP that I spoke with at the branch that afternoon kept repeatedly assuring me that there are ONLY TWO possible ways to access a safe deposit box: (1) to use the branch key along with my key to unlock the door, or (2) when legally necessary, to drill through both locks on the door. However, in my case, there is clearly a third possibility. For one, I am absolutely certain that my box along with its content were securely locked away during my last visit. Secondly, the two locks on the door were not drilled, and both keys inserted and worked perfectly fine. So this leaves me begging the questions--what happened?? How could this even happen at a place that, for most consumers like me, is presumably one of the safest places to store valuables? If my safe deposit box was somehow 'misplaced', who and how many people could have accessed the content without my knowledge? And lastly, if my safe deposit box can go missing, can other safe deposit boxes in that vault go missing the same way?  A couple of months later, after many follow-up calls with the branch and their corporate office, an email to Chase's CEO Jamie Dimon, and filing complaints with CFPB, OCC, DFPI, and Pasadena PD, Chase said that they have "looked into this", and that there's no records of anyone else accessing my safe deposit box other than their "standard audits" and "maintenances". A couple of months went by, to this day, Chase never found the box or any of its content, and they never even acknowledged that a safe deposit box went missing under their watch. In fact, I received a billing notice from Chase wanting to auto deduct $70 from my account for continuing renting a safe deposit box (what box? Lol). Everything that I thought was valuable, both monetarily and/or sentimentally--stored in a safe deposit box, supposedly locked inside a bank vault at this Chase branch--is still missing. If you have a safe deposit box at Chase on Lake & Colorado in Pasadena with valuables stored inside, make an appointment ASAP and go check. Make sure nothing is missing! read more

I've been a Chase customer for 8+ years and their services/products straight up just trumps the offerings of their competitors. I came here the other day to open up a savings account and upgrade my checkings account. The bank is huge and clean, parking is behind the bank (free with validation), and the customer representatives were hospitable. What makes me give this place 5 stars was my experience with Vartan. I actually read a positive review about him right before we met, so I'm glad they paired me up with the right person. He was knowledgeable about the products and answers all my questions thoroughly! Simply put, he's everything you hope for in a bank representative. read more

So, I have a business bank account with Chase in Arizona but my question is, if I use a chase bank in a different state, does that entail an extensive background check to be done just to make a small withdraw? From the time I approached the teller window with my ID and Chase debit card, the representative started punching in numbers extensively for close to five minutes before I was able to take receipt of my cash withdrawal which was relatively minor. Chase sent an offer for 12 month 0-interest rate loan so I could use to payoff OTHER credit cards. They even sent me checks. I took the offer but it turned out to be a big rip off. Months later I discovered they were charging me interest without listing the charges on my main account. These charges seemed hidden. Why were they charging me 50 bucks a month? Money I sent to pay off new purchases were applied to the 0-interest rate loan so they could charge interest rates on new purchases. It was a big ripoff. Additionally they had other charges and special calculations to pay off my 0-interest rate loan before they 12 month 0-interest rate period. These guys are geniuses at stealing your money. I love going to Chase because I feel like everyone who works there is friendly and I have had excellent experiences for the past few years. I do mostly basic banking but also I have a safety deposit box which is free if you have more than a certain amount of money in your accounts. Accessing the box is easy and fast. There's water available while you wait for a banker. I think Kyle is the best right now. He's fairly new to this branch but ever since he transferred here, he's helped my spouse and me with our savings accounts, safety deposit box, and today he helped us open a CD. There's a 9-11 months CD at 1.75% right now. It's not the best rate compared to online banks but I was willing to make a couple hundred dollars less per year so I could stay at this bank. Ask for Kyle. He looks like he's 14 but he is so professional and knowledgeable. I've been very impressed. Other excellent people there are Claudia, who I believe is a manager, Jesus is a teller and always so nice to talk to, Jessica, who is very personable, Larae is great especially for financial planning, and another girl who's always there but I don't recall her name but she's always cheerful and assistive. The building itself is nice other than these weird statues in the front. You'll walk in and see these giant statues holding a naked baby statue. Hint: it's definitely a boy. It's probably nice art to many people but I think they're silly. Another thing you may encounter at times is the crazy crackheads banking at this branch, probably because the location. But to be honest I've been entertained by them and there's been no issues too bad to handle for the bankers. Overall, I love this bank and I look forward to going at least once a week to pay my credit card because I see the nice people working here. read more

We stepped into the Chase to have a special type of notarization of an application to purchase U.S. Treasury bonds. Though we have been A+ customers on the personal banking level and are Chase Private Clients, and previously were co-owners in a business where we used Chase, we were treated as if we were trying to commit fraud, with such rudeness, distain, and annoyance that we were left in total shock. It was so bad, and so unmistakable that we have decided to lift our various accounts, including credit cards, from their hands. I'm also disappointed and annoyed that for months we have been waiting for promised calls to discuss mortgages. On our prior home we'd used Chase for original purchase mortgage and later a refinance. Well they can forget that too - considering we are currently on the market for a new home - that is another loss of business for this bank. We'd been customers for over 20 years I believe. Go elsewhere for your banking needs. read more

I went into chase bank on Friday because my chip on my card was not working in Pasadena on lake and Colorado and I believed there was a hold on my card which the bank placed because I tried too many times at business i should have just called the number on the back of the card but I went into the branch instead big mistake !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told the lady in the front and she said she would have Kyle help me another big mistake when I entered the bank there was nobody there and I was in a big hurry because my mother recently passed and I had to be at the cemetery in Whittier because they were installing her grave marker and I had to finish paying so he sat me in his office and instead of calling and unlocking the hold he opened up my account and start pointing out how I was in the negative because I always play apple pay he belittled me made me feel so small he looked down at me and I've been a member for over ten years and when I told him I do deposits every day because I do postmates he rolled his eyes and said postmates under his breath in a demeaning way! so at that point, I just wanted to get out of there so I'm wanted to make a withdraw so he told me to use the ATM that it should work but it did not at that point there was a huge line for the tellers so I asked the lady in the front who happened to be the assistant manager and asked if they could get my withdraw and she yelled at me in front of everyone in line that she wasn't going to let me cut on line in front of everyone and I had been there over a half hour and I asked her for a corporate office number and she went into the back came back with a handwritten piece of paper no business card no branch managers card with the number on the back nothing I've never felt so embarrassed in my life they went above and beyond to make me feel small read more

Took my brother to open a checking account and Varton Assoyan was really helpful he gave my brother this great promotional offer which was only good until August 15th, it gave my brother $200. to open his checking account as long as he got direct deposits and maintain a balance of more then $575.00 in his account every month. Note: They do not charge a monthly fee like some banks do and they also gave him overdraft protection which i thought was pretty good. He won't get his $200. promotional deposit until his retirement gets deposited into his account next month and it could take 3-5 working days until he see's it go into to his checking account, and he can not close the account for six months either. But i thought that was a great offer that most bank do NOT offer to open an account considering they all will still charge you to do the same things. read more

Great Chase bank!! There's super great service and helpful workers, but what's even better are the ATMs outside. There's two ATMs with street parking right next to it so it's super convenient! Dear ATM "Customer" in Front of Me, I know you're probably from another country judging from that crazy getup you're wearing. Did you somehow escape from the Its a Small World ride at Disneyland only to jump in front of me? Yes, that was me waiting in line for the ATM. I am the twitchy looking one with the sharpened screwdriver barely concealed behind my back. Perhaps they don't have any lines from your home planet. And perhaps they don't have ATM machines either, judging from the way you're staring at the screen, apparently trying to will it into giving you money. Oh, great, you've somehow produced what appears to be a chewed on library card from your saddlebags and you're now trying to force feed the machine like you do one of your crack addled toddlers clutching at your massive thighs. No, no, by all means: take your time. Stare some more at the pretty words on the screen that I know you can't read. I'm sure you have no clue that some of us have JOBS or LIVES or anything other than a cardboard box in the alley behind the Pep-Boys to which we must hasten. Since you clearly aren't allowed to drive, you don't realize that this stupid bank has no convenient parking for their often broken ATM's. Nor do you therefore realize that this stupid bank makes us park in a structure five flights up, get a ticket, go into the bank, get the ticket validated, then return back to the ATMs. I really shouldn't be taking my anger out on you, I suppose. But last time I tried taking my anger out on the bank, it didn't work out so well. Just ask my parole officer (assuming he could understand your guttural clicks and whistles.) Oh, nevermind. Anything would be better than this. Except maybe for the Bank of America across the street. Don't even get me started about that fiduciary abattoir. read more

Trust me when I say save your energy and time and go to the Chase bank on Colorado and Arroyo. This bank is not helpful at all. I went in to speak to them about some fees charged to my account that totaled almost $200 and they did nothing to help me. I have been with them for almost 20 years and I was about to close my account. I called customer service and the awesome rep suggested I speak to a branch manager at another branch. I had requested this at this location and the girl that helped me (forgot her name but the tall Armenian girl) said that the branch manager would not be able to help me. So I went to the other location and I am so happy I did. The manager there helped me and refunded my account. She saved me from having to close my account and take. H business to another bank. Terrible service. I feel offense and insulting. I went in a Saturday morning about 10am to withdraw some cash. I asked for some red envelope for Chinese New year. As a private client with Chase for over 15 years. I know that they offer red envelope to all clients for the special occasion. However the teller gave me TWO pieces of it. Then I thought it's a mistake because tellers usually gave 10 or more depending what kind of relationship with bank. As I mentioned, I am their private clients meaning I have certain amount saved with their bank and for a very long time. I clarified with the teller and explain what the red envelope is for and return the 2 envelopes back. I felt extremely insulting. Her manager came over and pretty much said take it or leave it. This is all we give to each customer. I left and went to Wells Fargo. Without making any transaction, they offer me 50 red envelopes. Thank you Wells Fargo. read more

I've had enough. I rehearse my refusal endlessly as I make the trek from my office (0.6 miles away) to the moment I walk in. Game time. Vulture: What brings you into Chase today? Me: A withdrawal and deposit. Vulture: Great, I can help you over here. Me: Ok. Repeat bi-weekly. I really dread walking into Chase but it's a necessary evil in order for me to deposit money into my brother's account. Under all circumstances I try to use the ATM, utilize online features, etc...anything to avoid the circling flock of scavengers. Incapable of uttering "no" I fall victim to paralysis via passiveness. Once immobilized, my muteness plays right into these vultures as they drag me away. Below is a typical charade: 1) Verify/update contact info (harmless but they're fooling no one) 2) quick overview of my account and possible upgrades (annoying) 3) trying to sign me up for one of their credit cards (piss off already. I'm sticking with AMEX b***h.) It's actually not that bad. I enjoy hearing the occasional crackle in their voice and accelerated speech. The nervousness is palpable. Well today, my testicles finally dropped while fulfilling a new year's resolution. I meekly proclaimed "I don't mind waiting in line." Better late than never. read more

I like this bank. People are super nice and helpful. Yelp says I need to write 32 more characters. I think this should do it.

This was the first and last time I step into a CHASE bank. I have only had one bank my entire life. I walk in to inquire about a balance transfer. As I said, I walk in to Inquire. I sit down and listen to the options they have Next step is to see if I'm approved for the amount I want to transfer. End up only being approved for about 25% of the balance I want to transfer... But that's not what happened. Chase opened a new credit card under my name for that amount, instead of asking if I wanted to contiune. So the representative had to call and cancel the credit card, and now I have to waot and see of it effects my credit score. I was told their not a credit bureau so I have to call myself. Off their hands and on to mine. Complete BS. I will never go to Chase after this. read more

A very rude introduction to Grinchy "stealth" overdraft fees! OK, maybe I should have been paying more attention to my balance, but they took advantage to the point of absurdity. This extreme vampirism is self-defeating. The victims (if they have any money left) later figure out that they can take their biz to a credit union & be treated fairly and ethically. I've paid a visit to the Pasadena branch twice. Upon my first visit, an elderly lady standing in front of a CSR's desk was having an outburst, the only intelligible thing I got was regarding growing up during the depression. That didn't exactly instill me with good feeling. On the second visit, I happened to notice a squad of large, chiseled men adorned with Chase logo polo shirts. They didn't appear to be too involved with any banking activity. I can only presume that they are the new complaint department? Ahhh.... maybe I should have taken this up a notch to Sedarisian prose, but I feel that I have gotten my point across. Dagnabbit Grinches! Nattafingah! read more

I never really have any problems with this branch and the employees are super friendly. The parking can be tricky because there are only a few 20 minute spots out front for a quick ATM deposit so when it's super busy, you have to park in the structure in the back. I have been a Chase/WM customer for more than a decade. In part it's due to quality service, in part due to laziness for not wanting to switch banks. Since moving to Pasadena, this has become my go-to neighborhood branch. PLUS: Got excellent customer service on the occasions I have gone in to deposit checks/request new checks/get quarters for laundry. In fact I feel as though the staff has been exceptionally courteous in an effort to make sure my needs were met the times I have been in. Overall, very cheerful and helpful. MINUS: Asked attractive personal banker out on a date and got turned down. I think this is what happens when men confuse women being nice to them with actually being interested romantically. Why people are leaving reviews on Chase Bank as an organization is beyond me. Leave a review for your experience in this branch. I am sure the employees have no control over your bank overdraft fees. How about you monitor your bank account more carefully than gripe and complain how a bank is robbing you. Or keep your money under your mattress, that's a cheaper option :end rant: Every time I come here, the customer service is awesome. If all the tellers are busy, someone else will come by and help me. I'm super lazy and don't like writing deposit slips, the teller never seems irked by this. They fill out for me, have me sign and I'm on my way. Need a check in a pinch? I just can't escape Chase! Years ago I lived in Texas and they acquired my local bank and immediately problems followed. I moved my account to WAMU and now Chase has acquired them and immediately problems have followed. This time they claimed someones default line of credit from WAMU to be mine and reported to the credit bureaus. I had no luck getting them to remove it, so I had to hire someone to get it removed. Talk about a pain in the behind! Now about this branch. I used to love visiting this branch when under WAMU's management. Now what have they done to an architecturally pleasing interior? They've boxed it in and painted it brown, where there one was a nice mural. They've added cheap cubicles for the "bankers," and I do use this term very loosely...more like college drop-outs, but that's just my observation...where the old WAMU bankers had large wooden desks in an open space. Now they have installed ridiculously thick bullet proof glass at the counters that distorts and you can't see when a teller is available. They have ruined this interior space and they seemed to have fired all the old friendly WAMU employees and hired a disgruntled lot. Why Chase, why? The saving grace for me is that I only use this bank for a safe deposit box and the rare occasion to get travelers checks, money orders, or to deposit checks and immediately have them send to my online bank, Charles Schwab. Which I highly recommend. read more
