Small, cramped, poorly managed bank. No clear process for walk-ins that need anything other than simple deposits and withdrawls. No clear process on new account setup. Security guard talking about exposing himself in front of other patrons. Yep, its a party in here on a Friday morning. I have used Chase for my personal accounts and credit cards for 20+ years, thought it would be a good time to let them handle my business accounts as well. They made enough of an impression that I'm closing our credit card and streamlining down to just 1 account. Glad that they showed their inexperience and unprofessionalism BEFORE I made that mistake. Chase can handle my sock purchases and pizza deliveries, but I'll leave my professional accounts to the professionals. read more

Always a terrible experience when I go to this branch which is closest to me unfortunately. I get harrassed as soon as I walk in by security and bankers who have nothing else to do asking why I am there. I know why I am there, and don't need their help. They try to do everything to keep you from actually using the bank just to keep their closet sized lobby empty. Security person should mind their own business, and not ask me why I am there, he even told me to step out of line. read more

I was denied service today. A bank teller escorted me to a banker's office. He did not say hello or he did not ask how to help me. It was only when I initiated conversation with him is when he told me I did not have time. He told me he has other appointments. He assumed I did not have an appointment, which I did not. But he did not ask my name. He said he had people waiting. There was no one in the lobby waiting for him. I am going to report him when today. I will tell you all what else happened but I want to give this bank to reconcile this with me first. read more

The employees at this branch are always so friendly and helpful. I have gone in there numerous times and each time I have been surprised by their prompt and courteous service. (I have not had very good experiences at other branches.) Due to my experiences at the other branches and on the phone I would never recommend that someone open an account at Chase, but if you are already a customer and need assistance this is the branch I would recommend you visit. read more

I have had accounts at this Chase bank since 1986. I tried to get two checks in return from a cashier's check yesterday. The banker declined to do so. I asked why that was not possible. She said "bank policy." I asked what the policy was and she would not answer. Terrible customer loyalty. This bank really really needs better customer service for all people of ALL races!! It seems to be a little "race mistreatment"going on in here. I guess the lighter you are, the better your service will be here. SERIOUSLY!! Be prepared to be ignored, mistreated, and waiting a very very long time... and just to be denied service at the end of all that. There is something really wrong with this branch and how it's operating, from management on down to the bankers to the tellers. Everyone has a bad attitude and fake demeanor. They really going to find themselves out of a job if they dont pull this crap together! and it shows in how people are treated when coming to this place. Me and my daughter walked in to open her an account, we were greeted by the security guard and we stood in line. Another lady comes in, and the security guards asks her, how can I help you? The lady tells the security guard she wants to open an account for her daughter, same thing we came in for, and the lady gets directed to a banker right away. She had NO APPOINTMENT but she was a different color/race than me snd my daughter. Me and my daughter were stuck waiting another 30 mins. Until another banker came back from her lunch, she looked at us and frowned as she walked by. Then she came to us after another 15 mins. and told us she has an appointment, she can not take us in. She proceeded to take an Asian lady in for service who was not her appointment and also came in after us. I have experienced this kind of mistreatment from a bank in my life. We were denied service after judt waiting, we were frown upon, forced to wait while we watch others get serviced for the same exact thing ahead of us, and they were both a certain race, we were laughed at by the workers in the branch. Mr. Johnson was very rude. Chase closed an account that I opened 10 days ago without giving me notice. When I explained that I was expecting at least a notice (since I set up direct deposit from my employer and they closed my account the day before pay-day and now no one knows where my paycheck ended up), he told me "there is always a reason why Chase does things". Anyway, I went to the branch to re-open my account but he was annoyed that I wanted to apply the same coupon that I used online ($500 for a new account with qualifying activities). He told me I couldn't so I asked him: "how can I get a new one?", his answer "usually when I don't know something I look it up on something called the internet". Very rude. Went to Chase bank today and tried to deposit US currency (coins) and the bank refused the deposit. BS banking institution.

EVERY single time I come to this branch I swear it's at LEAST a 20 min wait for the drive thru lanes. It makes no sense. If that's not the case, the ATM machine are unable to dispense cash which then makes everyone have to pile up in the drive thru lanes. This branch needs more staff PRONTO! Get it together. read more

This branch is too small and under staffed for the volume of clients that come into the location. You have to wait a long time with many frustrated people in the bottle-necked lines. I know a lady who was actually punched by someone when they confronted them for cutting in line there. It'd be easy to point blame at the lower-class clientele who are more likely to bring a sense of unease to the inadequate customer service. But it seems obvious that it is Chase Bank Executives who have decided to provide a much larger branch with ample customer service at the Lake street branch. Yes, gentrification. Is the real problem. The staff at both branches are friendly and helpful. But it seems Chase only wants to provide red carpet for wealthy clientele. Chase needs to realize that treating all humans with dignity will bring them far greater rewards than stroking the rich and the dog-eat-dog world. read more

Was looking to open an account for my teenage son, thought we would give Chase a try. Talked to the banker 2 days in advance to set up an 8:30am Saturday appointment. Banker said he'd set up this appointment so we wouldn't have to wait. Got there at 8:25 and waited. Tiny lobby was full of customers standing in line with only 1 agent to take care of them. When we signed the sheet I noticed that out of the 4 names on the list, we were the only one with an appointment. We waited about 35 minutes before I approached the banker and told him we are canceling our appointment due to such a long wait time. He acted totally aloof and asked me "who did you make the appointment with?" I told him "you!" as we walked out. Everyone in the lobby was laughing, he couldn't care less and let us walk away without even apologizing. This type of poor management and neglectful hiring policy is very damaging to Chase's brand and should be addressed immediately. We will take our business to 5/3 where they always have plenty of employees waiting to help you, even without an appointment. Wish I would have read these Yelp reviews before I wasted all this time at Chase. read more

If your looking for a mortgage loan save your self a headache and do not go to Chase, well at least the one in Oak ParK on lake street...Horrible experience! Not sure if the issue was with the loan officer, processor or underwriter but they need to get their shit together. They ask for documents last minute...appears as if they just let your loan sit there and work on it last minute. documents were provided same day when they ask, then they schedule closing with no clear to close and keep changing close dates and ask for more items. It's a joke! Then they turn around and throw in your face " oh it's because your type of loan....really? Smh! Absolutely ridiculous!!! By the way. I went to this location to replace a lost debit card. I signed in and waited about 20 minutes before a gentleman came out and called several names from the sheet. After none of those people responded he finally got to me. I was escorted to a small office and ask how he could be of help. I explained that I had just returned from a trip and could not find my debit card and needed another one. No problem he said, the lost card was canceled and a new one was ordered. Eight business days past and no card. I called the 800 number and found out nothing had been done. The lady apologized and took care of everything in a matter of minutes. Went into the bank and was told they can help with some paper work just needed it to be blank. So I went home which took about 30 mins, went back another 30 min drive, I was told by a different agent they couldn't help unless I had an account with them. Ok fine. talked to the manager he told me the same. So I decided to open an account thinking maybe that'll help me save through another bank. Nope I was told by the manager I could not open an account just because I needed a service from them. That's really messed up they should never turn potential customers down.
