Once, when I brought in a large cashier's cheque from an out-to-state bank and needed to use the money promptly, the staff was able to call that bank, then "bend the rules a bit" and shorten up the time that they needed to "hold the deposit" until the paperwork cleared. This credit union provides excellent support (at a great price) if you need expert tax preparation, too. The ONLY complaint that I have about this credit union is that they do not offer "medallion services" if you have been mailed a form to prove your identity to some "big time" financial institution like Franklin Templeton. But for this issue, there was an easy work-around. They still get 5 stars.

I was used to going to the smaller, South Milwaukee location, but this spot is closer to where I work and live now that I'm a sort of grown up. Discover card for debit FYI with chip and the place as a mobile app for iPhone and Android so you can easily make transfers, check your balance, etc. (Pleasantly surprised with this, since again, it's a not like a big 'ole bank.) Staff has always been friendly and you can always grab some popcorn on your way out ;)

You are asked to go to the closest branch which is 48 miles away for me or provide a document in which you have to get notarized confirming who you are. I have banked with several organizations and never have I been treated like this or locked out of my account(s) and asked numerous questions to confirm identiy. BEWARE of BMO they are exercising questionable practices with the consumers money. I will reach our to the Attorney General concerning these practices.

Besides the 1-2 business days for mobile deposit, they put holds on all checks, from corporate companies, and hold your money hostage for a week or more. May be fine for others who can afford to wait. For the average Joe, not an acceptable policy. Never have I ever had so much trouble getting my own money. "To protect you and BMO Harris..." no, the only explanation is that they are using my funds for themselves then delivering them whenever their stock options are clear. The entire institution is a scam.

As with all the Educators Credit Union branches with live real tellers and associates, all the workers are friendly, personable, competent and don't try to steal your money like the big three megabank corporations.
