**Updated review August 2026** I had to revise my review since I last posted several years ago. I…read morehave been a patron for over 20 years, but am transitioning to another bank due to the decline in services within this branch as well as at the corporate level. The fees are significant and unfair, and the lack of staff knowlege has resulted in account errors that have been costly (depending on who you ask you will likely get a different answer). Should you make a mistake on your register (for example forget to deduct a random autopay from your balance) you will be charged $35 per item (even if the withdrawal is for less than $1) in the order they came in. Within a day this mistake will easily and unfairly cost you over $200 and common sense cannot be negotiated, and they won't consider reversing the fees no matter how silly they seem. So, if you are at any risk of making a simple mistake on your register for less than a cup of coffee, I recommend you bank elsewhere. Its unfortunate, because switching banks after 20 years is a pain but makes sense for me...because chances are I will at some point forget to add that cup of coffee to my register and I will need some understanding and grace from the person I am speaking with at my bank so that it doesn't become a $200 mistake. This is not that bank. Original review in 2018: My experience with this branch has been so good. A few months ago, I had a restaurant incorrectly charged me over $1000 on my bill (I paid with my credi/debit card). I didn't realize it until the next day when I looked at my bank account online. Aleta was so helpful in getting it all sorted out, and truly went above and beyond. Since then, I have opened a new checking account there and she as well as the other employees at this branch were so helpful. Next I will be opening a savings account there. Very appreciative of all of their help and I would definitely recommend this branch.

This is a great place. I've been a member of this credit union for 14 years, and have both had a…read morecar loan via GCU, and have purchased a house with their services. Once, when I brought in a large cashier's cheque from an out-to-state bank and needed to use the money promptly, the staff was able to call that bank, then "bend the rules a bit" and shorten up the time that they needed to "hold the deposit" until the paperwork cleared. This credit union provides excellent support (at a great price) if you need expert tax preparation, too. The ONLY complaint that I have about this credit union is that they do not offer "medallion services" if you have been mailed a form to prove your identity to some "big time" financial institution like Franklin Templeton. But for this issue, there was an easy work-around. They still get 5 stars.

I was used to going to the smaller, South Milwaukee location, but this spot is closer to where I work and live now that I'm a sort of grown up. Discover card for debit FYI with chip and the place as a mobile app for iPhone and Android so you can easily make transfers, check your balance, etc. (Pleasantly surprised with this, since again, it's a not like a big 'ole bank.) Staff has always been friendly and you can always grab some popcorn on your way out ;)

When I arrive I'm told to come back in 3 hours. Opening a savings account takes about 20 minutes max. The facility is completely empty 3 personal bankers present. I was told to come back in 3 hours to open an account. I will not be visiting this location again. The facility is very clean and staff seemed friendly other than their unwillingness to help me while I'm in the facility. I just don't understand why I would need to come back in 3 hours to open an account.

This is the branch of Guardian Credit Union (GCU) that I go to for my day-to-day needs. One nice…read morebenefit of my using this small branch is that not only do I know the staff, but the staff knows me. Heck, the staff even knows the name of my dog, when he comes along. I've already left a glowing Yelp review for the main GCU office (in Oak Creek), but here's a summary: I've been a member for 14 years, I had a car loan through GCU, and GCU staff have gone out of their way to help me deal with some oddball "cash flow" issues. When I was tasked with filling out a **very** perplexing tax return (not your typical "1040") for an elderly relative, GCU provided prompt expert assistance at a fair price. One additional item that was not in that other review: In comparison to some other bank and credit union websites that I have used, the GCU website is particularly easy to use. It lets me do a great job of managing my checkbook, monitoring my credit card expenses, and paying bills. And, it supports "Two Factor Authentication" log-in without being a nagging burden.
