We couldn't access online banking, keep track of bills, or even do business at a branch office. When we asked when it will be reinstated, they arrogantly said when they think we're ready. Plenty of parking, drive thru and convenient hours. ATM it is. This is the old style ATM where you put your cash or checks in an envelope, fill it out and punch the deposit amount into the machine. Yes... it takes a bit longer but, it will actually take the envelope and not spit it back out at you FIVE or more times because it's "Unable to read one or more of the checks" like those damn Envelope Free ones. Sure... the envelope is a waste of paper but, if I'm idling at the ATM for 5 or more minutes... Gas is $$$ now a days, I'll waste some paper and save some time. Oh, and there's a nice overhang above, so you don't get so wet when it rains. +1 SYOY

I was willing to put 20% down on a house costing less than a hundred grand. They took two months and finally denied the loan even though I submitted every document they asked for. They demanded two appraisals on the house which cost about $500 each. Both appraisals were over the purchase price offer. They kept asking for the same documents over and over again. They refused to meet in person. Everything online. In the end they claimed I had not worked long enough at my current job to get a mortgage. But they knew from day one how long I had been on my current job. So I lost $1000 by applying at this bank and got nothing but a two month headache.

They even used to do small things, like automatically count coins for my kid when he brought in his piggy bank to deposit in his savings. They took that out, too. Everything is a major deal with this branch. While I used to just accept that, I finally decided to switch, which takes a lot because (a) I am patient and (b) it is a major inconvenience to switch banks (they know this, that is why they figure no one will do it). I am at least acknowledged at my new bank, they seem to understand that I am human. On top of that, they do the "little" things, which Chase wants no part of. Spare yourself the frustration if you are thinking of using this branch.

It is so hard to get the check sign because they have no managers at almost none of their locations. I originally went to Gary at 4 o'clock. I waited for an hour for them to tell me to check was good, but they had no manager to sign it. They ask me if I can go to Highland, I live in Merrillville. I told them no and I could go to Merrillville in the morning. They told me Merrillville did not have a manager Either, but Crownpoint had a manager. I told them that crown point was out of my way and asked if they could make a courtesy call since it was not my fault that there were no managers available they told me no. that next morning I got a call from the Highland manager asking me to come to Gary? She acted like she had no idea what was going on with the check. I told her to call the mortgage side and then call me back. She never called me back. I went to the crown point location because I was told that there was going to be a manager there. I got all the way to the Crownpoint location and was told the manager was going to Merrillville at this point I'm angry because I drove all the way to Crownpoint when I live in Merrillville. I then called the Merrillville location and let them know that I was on my way because I was told the crown point manager was there. They told me they did not have a manager there. I got into a whole argument with the young lady on the phone about the crown point location telling me their manager was at that location. We went back back-and-forth for about 10 minutes until she put me on speakerphone,I guess so everybody else did hear how upset I was . I hung up the phone and about an hour later the Merrillville location called me back and told me theCrownpoint manager had just walked in and that I can come to get the check signed. This happened Friday, September 4. I was on my way out of town with my family and had no time to waste with these games. I really hope that someone can get this solved because it's really an inconvenience for the customers to travel out their way just for a single signature.

She showed my mom such patience, kindness and dignity when my 81 yr old Mom got locked out of her online baking. We lack such kindness and customer service these days. I decided after long convincing from my mom. Because my mom has been a customer since your bank opened , and was a customer of the bank that you took over in Hammond. But she is the reason that I decided to open a bank account with your bank last week. This person needs to be recognized and I wish I knew her last name, but I believe her first name was Sonia. I will try to be reaching out to a branch manager, so that manager understands and recognizes what a beyond the scope of her job employees she as far as customer service. Thank you thank you thank you to her. I hope you treat your employees up to their value because a lot of companies do not!
