The manager and banking staff are condescending and fail to take blame for their errors- they pass the buck and shut down! Having been dealing with fraud in my two accounts and they left a horrific gut wrenching feeling of blame for not noticing quicker! They neglected to keep their word on getting late charges and charges removed. Failed to get my new cards in the allotted time frame as stated and when seeking further support they referred me to make my own 800 calls and to be transferred 13 times! I must start with this comment: I am an American who lives abroad. And I have a home in Modesto, 2 minutes from Chase. My investment advisor suggested that I go online and open an account depositing +100k. I have five days in the country and I chose Chase as I do business with Chase. The way people engage and do business in Modesto, mystifies me. So many have no sales skills. The woman I interacted with told me that since I needed help with opening a business account, it would take two hours. That was fine. But then she said there was no one to help. I told her there was urgency and instead of checking for tomorrow or friday this employee let me walk out the door. She did not say, let me call another branch to see if someone can help you today. She just let me walk out the door. LOST BUSINESS. Waste of my time. I will do more transfers to HSBC New York instead of giving my business to Chase. I had a scheduled appointment for Saturday at 1:30pm to open a business checking account. My partners from my LLC live out of California so it was incredibly difficult to plan this out. We ended up leaving our papers at home on the way there so we called ahead to make sure it was good to go about 15 mins late. The lady on the phone said it was good to come and she will still take us. We ended up getting there about 20-25 mins late due to traffic but we were told we could still be seen and it was not a big deal. Lastly, when we were waiting to be seen by Jessica. She came over and told us that she could not see us because the appointment would run into another persons appointment and hour later.. this was very upsetting seeing how we would have never went all the way if we knew we couldn't be seen. When asking Jessica why she couldn't tell us, she said, "I assumed you guys were 5 mins away". This is a terrible assumption. The bank was unable to have anyone else see us and told us to kick rocks even though I had an appointment. It is now unfortunate that we have to go to a different bank multiple months out now. Trash staffs. Pretty lazy. I had scheduled a meeting to add my wife onto my account. Nancy called me asking if I said that I needed an hour to add someone onto an account. She wanted me to reschedule, so they could take me off as they were "busy", but in reality they wanted to just drop another customer off their long list of scheduled customers so they can ease up their Friday. I told them I will look to reschedule hung up and 20 seconds recalled them to agree to just meet up and they said, oh it's too late as they already booked another customer. They tried to jave me reschedule to Wednesday, yet I'm going into the military, so I can't even do that. I spoke to her manager, Nikki, who was somewhat helpful, but wanted to reschedule the appointment later on in the day, which I found unfair due to me being busy later on in the day. So now I'm stuck with meeting later on in day instead of going out of town to visit my family and friends before I go to Sacramento to get shipped off. read more

It's a bank. There will inevitably be a line or a snafu w the ATM. The only way to avoid the former is to never go during peak times. But, life happens. I encountered one such snafu at the ATM. I had to go inside & handle it. This of course defeated the whole purpose of my going to the ATM in the first place, right? I was only mildly annoyed (I've been much more than mildly annoyed at the bank before, but that was a different branch & is a whole other story). Of course, I had to wait in line. But it was quick. Most surprisingly, the teller was a rockstar. Not only was she courteous, but when I explained that the ATM was out, she was downright HELPFUL. She apologized & said that she would take care of it...& she did! She informed some big-wig ATM person & they got on it. Ask & receive. Isn't that all anyone really wants? I was a bit apprehensive; after all I'd called 3 times and received the same mechanical voice (tellers are all busy, call later - CLICK; what, they hung up on me?). But on the 4th try Shamir answered (I think I have the spelling of her name wrong). She made an appointment for me (later I found out she skipped part of her lunch to make sure we were taken care of). When we arrived, she was extremely proficient at handling our laundry list of needs: * The ATM card didn't arrive at the PO Box as promised? OK, canceled; and send a new one to home address. * Forgot pin? OK, let's create a new one now. * Trouble using cell phone app to get cash at an ATM. OK, let's walk to the one here and I'll show you the step by step process. * College Credit card? OK, "now to get your credit score up pay in full each month to build up your credit". Chase Bank David this guy saved the day for me Im literally not having a good month . With an emergency car repair my savings has been depleted. I'm not used to the check the check type of living and today I looked at my account and had I just cashed my check on Saturday with an available amount of $100. David with his amazing customer service calm me down assured me I would have the available balance that I needed by the end of the night. They have rules and there is NO grace in nothing!! my checking account has a S for my middle name., but they would not accept a check with my name spelled out long form, went to the head Female in charge, no grace. maybe just this one time, I'll correct it next time, Sorry no chance. By the way thier auto machine they want you to use in the lobby, jambed our checks up and they couldn't check our deposit (since they can't open it) and we had to wait to get credit for our deposit (like 10 days+) Also a few other problems along the way that everyone has mentioned. online banking works good or we would have left long before. read more

I have been on hold with customer care due to a double transaction, so I decided to go into this branch to see if they can help me out and Chris was rude and practically blamed it on COVID-19 that he can't help me because they supposably call the same number to dispute double transactions. Apparently it's hard to order a card when you add someone to your account, we went into the branch, sat down with someone to add my fiancé to my debit account. I've been waiting for my fiancé's debit card for over 2 weeks, get off the phone with customer service and they said "No card was ever sent. We can expedite you your card waiving any fee". Then right after customer service says that they say "oh actually Go into the branch and have them call us then we can send your card". It's not that hard to just give us a card with her name on it when we gave the branch all her info! All this run around for a debit card is sad and pathetic. It never fails every time I come into the Mchenry branch in Modesto the service is awful. I recently came in and tried to use my Apple Pay on my phone to access my account at there atm and unfortunately the system was down at this location. So I go to the teller and they say to grab my ID so I can make a deposit well my husband has my ID because we're in the process of buying a home so I show them my expired ID and my husband sends me my current ID and the branch manager Rebecca informs me they cannot use my information. This is why my savings is with BBVA because they are fast and get the job done! I don't understand why chase went through the hassle of verifying all my information addresses, phone number accounts only to turn away my large deposit. Yes, you read that correct my deposit I was not requesting cash I was giving chase money. With that being said Rebecca wasted my time I would not recommend this bank to anyone. read more

It was late on a Friday when I discovered my wallet was missing. I was working but called the most recent locations I remembered having used it's contents hoping it may have been discovered and turned in by some benevolent individual - It had not. I pulled into Chase as they were locking the doors and was asked what I needed. They took time to walk me through downloading and navigating the mobile app, provided me enough time to facilitate a deposit, initiate a withdrawal, and obtain a new secured card. They were so kind and patient when I knew they both should have been done for the day and driving home themselves. All of this so I wasn't left financially strapped waiting for various replacement cards to arrive. Chase has treated me well for years and even Covid hasn't stopped them from continuing to put the customer first! Thank you!! read more

Strangest process ever....or maybe it was just the guy. He walked over to get us from the couches and asked what we needed. We told him we wanted to open a new account and he seemed displeased. Sat us down and told us he had an appointment he to call before he could help us. Then he called and the appointment didn't pick up. He said he could make an appointment for us later. Bank associates are amazingly efficient & friendly. Four stars for the horrible parking situation. Even without construction going on, it's VERY difficult to get in & out.
