Saturday, August 29th. 2:00pm. I called ahead because I was stuck in traffic and urgently needed to with drawl money for a cash deposit on a car I was buying. They agreed they would wait for me, thought awesome. Great, manager, great bank.
For a bit of a background story, my family, myself and our businesses do MILLIONS a year in business with Chase Bank.
So I get there, sign my withdrawal slip, ID and Debit card. Right away with the rude tone of the teller she says "why doesn't your ID and debit card match." She was referring to the suffix on my ID. Even though all the information matched on my account - DL number, account number, debit Number, address, and name. She still was so suspicious that I started to be treated as though I was a criminal.
First of all why would I call ahead if my intent was to steal someones identity.
Anyways, so I tell them to call the Burlington branch....which is our main branch where every single person in the place has known me and my family for the last 35 years. While watching everyone in the place running around like idiots and a lady on the phone with the burlington manger the oh so polite teller starts rudely demanding what I want the cash for and tells me to specifically tell her what I plan to do with it. I mean really? I told her it was non of her f'n business.
So after sitting there 20 minutes they finally had me confirm my social, my account, my address, my parents name, my PIN and the last withdrawal amount I made from an ATM, the location of that ATM and the date.
When answered instantly. They all look at each other and reluctantly give me my cash. The teller says nothing other than gives me a snotty smirk.
Will NEVER go back to this place and am in the process of negotiating moving all our business, family and trust accounts to another bank. read more
