I…read morehave been a patron for over 20 years, but am transitioning to another bank due to the decline in services within this branch as well as at the corporate level. The fees are significant and unfair, and the lack of staff knowlege has resulted in account errors that have been costly (depending on who you ask you will likely get a different answer). Should you make a mistake on your register (for example forget to deduct a random autopay from your balance) you will be charged $35 per item (even if the withdrawal is for less than $1) in the order they came in. Within a day this mistake will easily and unfairly cost you over $200 and common sense cannot be negotiated, and they won't consider reversing the fees no matter how silly they seem. So, if you are at any risk of making a simple mistake on your register for less than a cup of coffee, I recommend you bank elsewhere. Its unfortunate, because switching banks after 20 years is a pain but makes sense for me...because chances are I will at some point forget to add that cup of coffee to my register and I will need some understanding and grace from the person I am speaking with at my bank so that it doesn't become a $200 mistake. A few months ago, I had a restaurant incorrectly charged me over $1000 on my bill (I paid with my credi/debit card). I didn't realize it until the next day when I looked at my bank account online. Aleta was so helpful in getting it all sorted out, and truly went above and beyond. Since then, I have opened a new checking account there and she as well as the other employees at this branch were so helpful. Next I will be opening a savings account there. Very appreciative of all of their help and I would definitely recommend this branch.

I arrived at BMO Harris Salem, Wisconsin branch around 10:30 am. I was greeted by Kylie at the…read morecustomer teller counter. Kylie analyzed my checking and savings accountd and was dumbfounded for a little while. She then got assistance from her colleague Shannon. They both try to rigure it out themselves and something was not adding up. Therefore, they contacted the regional help desk center of BMO Harris in front of me and got to investigate why I had an online account but could not use it and why I could not send a $77 dollar overdraft I owed Chase. Banks normally close at 12 pm or 1 pm on Saturdays. Kylie and Shannon diligently worked very hard to get me all set up. The reason why my Zelle account at BMO Harris would not work was because my online banking was not quite set up. Kylie and Shannon set up my online banking, set up my Zelle account, and updated all of my digital online banking information such as the current email address, personal cell number, and ordered new checks. Frank at the teller counter has also helped. I have dealt with Frank for over a year at the Salem Wisconsin Branch of the Salem, Wisconsin Branch. I am sold now why BMO Harris Bank has such a great reputation. It is the people that make a great company and now I know why.
