I bank at 5 different banks. Chase as a whole is not unlike any other large bank (B of A, Wells Fargo, etc.). This branch in particular is horrible with customer service. While I appreciate requirements to ensure the security of transactions and counter-fraud measures, there is common sense and customer service in the balance. The level of understanding and intelligence with a particular manager here is below average. I am a registered client with multiple accounts at this bank. I am also a licensed professional in a highly regulated industry. I have special accounts as a result. I don't do alot of transactions with this account but enough. I have checks that need to be frequently deposited. They prevented me from depositing checks to these special accounts. They required me to jump through all sorts of ridiculous hoops and have a signed power of attorney with me for every client. That makes no logical sense. Every time I have to deposit a check I have to bring in a signed power of attorney? Let me ask you, how do these big organizations deposit hundreds of checks daily? They obviously don't bank at this branch. Just an utter lack of common sense causing great inconvenience and unnecessary delay for its customers. I'm sure he can handle basic low level transactions of every day customers. He's just not sophisticated enough to handle professionals. read more

Just got some financial transactions done, aside from the usual use of ATM and getting quarters last Friday. Abel helped me out and I have to say, he was fantastic. He took the time to answer any questions, gave me a lot of information and even took care of an issue I've had for a long time. (My name was not correct and past banks in that location - I've been in THAT LOCATION since long before Chase was there said they couldn't help me). He was very friendly, courteous and professional but put me at ease and explained things in a way that wasn't overly complicated. As a bank, they're fine, but I was impressed by the quality of service I got (starting a Savings acct., setting up some investment, and other advice). I would give this branch (not reflecting all Chase in general, just that branch) 3 or 4 stars as I've never had an issue there (except when they ran out of quarters but that may have been during the coin shortage). But this recent transaction put it up to 5 stars. Much kudos to Abel for providing such fantastic customer service! read more

Went into the Chase Bank today (12:00PM), and due to COVID-19, there was a line out the door. Understandable, but I was hoping it'd be a quick in-and-out trip. I was at this bank for over 20 minutes during my lunch. On top of that, the female banker on the left as you walked in (there were 2 bankers assisting customers, and this woman was more elderly, Caucasian, and wore glasses) did not look like she wanted to be there nor wanted to assist anyone. I noticed this as I was standing in line watching her help an older gentleman, and unsurprisingly, as I walked up to the counter, she didn't say hello or acknowledge me. I asked her for a sheet of checks which cost $2. What she didn't let me know and what I later found out by searching on Chase's website was that my Total Checking account could have been converted to a Premier Plus Checking account and I wouldn't even have had to pay for the checks! The only redeeming part about my experience and the reason I'm giving any stars at all was that there was a younger, more upbeat woman with glasses who was offering people water in line and was helping to limit the number of people in the branch. Up until this point, I was happy to bank with Chase, but this experience made me regret switching over to Chase from Wells Fargo... at Wells Fargo, they'd happily waive fees on checks for me and would always provide suggestions on how I could save on bank fees. Hopefully, this just a one-time experience, but I know I will definitely not be bringing my business to this Chase branch in the future. read more

I visit the Placentia branch of Chase often and my most recent visit reminded me of why it's the branch I choose even when it's not the closest. This branch has been helping me through a pretty tough debit card situation lately. Everyone here has been so kind and helpful! Manny in particular provided excellent and personalized customer service! Unfortunately, one employee, Albert, was very rude to me on the phone and not very helpful at all. So, I'm reading the Yelp reviews for this particular Chase, and there all mostly about the older teller, Karen. Beyond rude! The bank itself is wonderful, but Karen makes the experience so terrible. I was trying to put gas in my car, with my Chase debit card and was denied, but had over $5000.00 in the account. I hadn't used that card in a few months, so I thought Chase was just looking out for me. I decided to use another card which was not denied. A few hours later I checked my phone and received a notification from Chase, asking if that was me, I responded that it was. Chase charged me for the transaction. I called customer service, and was asked to prove that I used another debit card. I have been a customer of Chase for over 25 years and never had to do this. They wanted me to fax a copy of the transaction on my statement. I told them I had to access to a fax and if I could text it or email it, and was told no. I went to the bank and a teller gave me there email address and he would forward it. I did and was told my money was reversed back to my account, it wasn't.
