This bank just sucks. I go in at 11:25 in hopes of beating the lunch rush. Haha what a joke 2 tellers and one is helping someone open a new account. No other employees to be found. The line has 6-8 people in it and due to covid is out the door. Why my wife banks here I have no idea. This place only cares about the American citizen when they screw up and want us to bail them out. The rest of the time they treat us like we are stupid and we just keep allowing the dog crap treatment. Over the years our bank, Chase has been very good to us. We have been with our specific branch and loyal to our branch near our house even when it was Washington Mutual and before that when it was Home Savings. Home Savings used to have an advertising slogan that they were "America's largest savings and loan." They had various spokespeople. First it was Geoge Fenneman (from Groucho Marx's "You Bet Your Life" t.v. show) and then they had Harry Vonzell (from the George Burns & Gracie Allen t.v. show). I guess my point is we loved this bank. They never had errors on our account balances or transactions. The tellers have always been very friendly and they always brightened our day when we saw them as we went into the branch to do our various financial transactions. They have a full service 24 hour customer service line with a real live representative (!) and their website has been convenient and error free for us, with most transactions posting very quickly and accurately. However, lately.... probably partly because of the business pressures of the COVID 19 virus here in the Los Angeles area, we now have a few complaints. Regardless of the pandemic and its intensity here, this things I am about to talk probably should never happen in a decently run business. Chase has (supposedly temporarily) closed our branch months ago and the other branch closest to us now is closed. You have to make an appointment just to get at your safe deposit box even. We live in a very populated part of the Los Angeles basin... an upper middle class neighborhood. I think they should have at least kept ONE of these two branches open. Also, with them now... they are still pushing to eliminate having live bank tellers. I can tell they have been trying to do this even before the pandemic. They have these more advanced automated tellers now, but using these is NOT the same, nor as pleasant as having a real, live, breathing smiling face helping. Some branches have NO tellers now. This really sucks, because as I have said, we like dealing with real people. I repeat it because I think it is important to think about this. Also, why do they have to LAY OFF their employees when they are doing such a good job???? And then one other (final) thing that is bothering me. I tried to call the nearest branch to us about an hourand a half ago (11 a.m.) in order to get the phone number of our retirement financial adviser. (We have over $200,000 in our accounts.) Twice there was no answer when they were open and there was a voicemail message that said that they were too busy to answer and for me to call back! No messages taken at all! What kind of bank does not answer their phone? Come on, Chase. Some people in management and at the corporate level now are making some BAD business decisions! Get it together, Chase. I have to give you only FOUR STARS now, instead of my previous FIVE STARS. I hope this downward trend of cutting off customer service things stops soon. Bring back the tellers and branches. The one time I spoke to a banker at this location I spent 45 mins waiting. Now I only use the ATM and haven't had problems since. Chase ATMs are such time savers now. They take cash and checks with no envelopes or deposit slips, which is something I don't miss filling out. The parking lot can use some improvements. Some people think their small cars need two spaces and others think they can cross the lot like no one else in the world exists. Word to the wise: be careful pulling out of a spot, someone might just pop out and surprise you. I am a customer of Chase already, I came by on 12/11/15 to open a savings account. I waited for 40 minutes before I decided to walk up to a clerk behind the counter to ask for help. The only two available reps were busy. Another lady got frustrated and left. I was told its best to make an appointment. So I did. I called, made an appointment for today, Monday 12/14 and was told I would receive a confirmation call by noon. And did I receive a call? Nope. I showed up anyway. Another man literally walked in at the same time as myself. The available rep asked who came in first. I told him the man and in first but I called to make an appointment and no one called me back. He said he would be with me shortly because I missed my appointment and decided to help the other man. WTF?!?! I was pissed. Why did I even bother? I walked out, won't be back. What I like about this Chase is that the ATMs are right in the front entrance. Inside, this place is big and clean. There are a few blue chairs for you to sit on if you are waiting for a banker or waiting for a friend who is waiting in a long line to do a deposit or some other kind of transaction. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to talk to a banker, so I've never actually sat in one of those chairs. I always just walk in that little area where all those bankers (the people on the other side of the tellers) and look for someone who is free. Generally I have had pretty good and friendly service here, by the bankers. I have actually never made deposits or withdrawn any cash at the teller window because of the ATMs at the front. Parking here can sometimes be a pain because sometimes there are no open spaces near the bank. But if you are willing to walk a short distance, you can park further down near the Indian Bazaar or Italian restaurant and walk over to the bank. And since you are here, you can also buy some random crap at the dollar spot at Target since it's in the same plaza. read more

I explained my situation and he immediately told me to come in and they'll see how they can help. I came in and I didn't have to wait 30 seconds before he approached me and said they'll be able to verify me other ways. He handed me off to Arturo Arredondo who verified me and sent me on my way. There is only one customer service rep available to assist with opening accounts. The manger(I believe her name is Luna) helped two people, I was next in line and she told me that someone else will help me but it is going to take at least 40 minutes. She then went back into her office to sit behind a computer desk. They are obviously short on associates, but the manager could have assisted me just like she helped the two other people before me. Out of all the Chase branches this branch is the least organized and takes the longest to assist customers. read more

This location has always been a convenient Chase for me, with ATMs located in an exterior vestibule. Inside, the wait is always short and the atmosphere is clean and neat. The AC is on high, so it's quite comfortable. There is a little waiting area with four seats, but most people are not in there for very long. The staff is always very friendly. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience. Today, for the first time, I had to do a wire transfer and was assisted by Joshua Chavez, the Branch Manager. He noticed I was sitting around waiting for a banker to free up and decided to help me himself. Very personable and efficient. Great customer service. Highly recommend. read more

I had an occasion to seek help from a Personal Banker at Chase Bank in Duarte. I had the good fortune to have Elena G. Bogarin assist me in handling a rather complex transaction dealing with the access to bank accounts as a power of attorney for a friend. It took quite some time to complete the transaction and yet Ms. Bogarin took all the time I needed to see that the transaction was completed and that I got the proper training I would need to access the accounts online. She is so professional, so knowledgeable, and so personable that it was actually a pleasure to spend the time required to have my issue resolved. She is truly a valuable employee who gave such good service I have considered changing my banking institution. read more
