During my two visits here I waited way too long (over 30 mins and this is ridiculous since no one else was there. In retrospect, that actually makes sense!!). I was never greeted since I sat down in the waiting area as I didn't exist. There are good chase branches out there but this one is probably the worst I've experienced as far as customer service goes. read more

Private Client Banker Kevin Cueva is the most wonderful person I've ever dealt with at Chase. I was a victim of fraud and Kevin was there to walk me through the whole process. He was very empathetic and caring towards my situation. He was able to help me get all of my money back and he even put me in touch with a Financial Advisor to help me get better returns on my money. Kevin is a great banker and a great asset to JPMorgan Chase. read more

I am once again disappointed in Chase bank not once but twice in a two week period. I have currently gotten married, which brings all the joys and pains, of changing my name on every thing I own, including bank records. I called on a Friday to request a new card to delivered to me (within 5-7 days), with my new name. Late Friday night I went to a store, and was informed that my ATM card had been declined. I was left on a Friday night without any way of receiving money through an ATM nor using my card. I called Customer service and was told that a new card would be sent out 5-7 days. If I was told during my card request that I would have no bank card for 5-7 days I would have been at least informed, but I had to find out by going to a store and having my card declined. Second. After my card arrived a few days later I received my checks. The Card has the correct spelling of my new last name but my Checks were incorrect in the spelling. I again had to call your customer service line to request help. Frankly I call CHASE The bank of Customer NON-Service. I am currenlty looking for a new bank. read more

Being new to San Francisco and seeing a lot of Chase branches open everywhere, I thought, "This bank looks good and I like the color of their debit card." So I opened a checking account. On the first day, a personal banker named Minu took my social security number and my ID. She said everything is fine and we opened a new account. She said that Chase was going to charge me $ 10 monthly fee for handling my money. I was fine with it. Then one day I receive a phone call saying they need to verify my social security and residential address. I showed them my REAL social security card and my REAL California STATE ID with my home address. Minu said it was fine and that Chase was not going to bother me anymore. I was happy. However, they called me and asked me to bring in a verification of my social security and a utility/phone bill to verify my home address. I told them that I had shown them my real social security card and my real California State ID. She said there was some trouble with the back-office and that the "back-office" was not accepting my IDs. I was shocked! and frustrated. Does Chase Bank not respect the State of California that issued the ID? They just wanted to harass me. I went to the Berkeley Branch four times. On the final visit, Minu called the Asst. Manager (a woman) who didn't really seem interested in helping out a customer. I threatened to close the account. She said, fine close the account. Didn't even give me an explanation about why the "Back-office" was not willing to accept my social security and my California State ID. I was really sad and closed the account. F*** the big banks. seriously. They take your money, charge you for letting them keep your money and (use it as leverage to buy bad mortages). I would understand Chase insisting on verifying my identifications if I was borrowing money from them. I wasn't. This Bank or branch sucks. I closed the account. Don't go near them. Here I come, Mechanics Banks. read more

OK, I was in a bad mood going in. But Imelda Cuevas wouldn't let me deposit my cash. Her job is customer service...it seems like businesses have forgotten that customer service is what matters these days, in a world of social media and word of mouth. You cannot treat customers like crap anymore. She didn't trust me. She made me feel like low life, and a simple deposit took 45 minutes. I called the manager over and they concluded the cash was not, in fact, counterfeit, and they allowed me to make a deposit. A middle manager said she was sorry, but not Imelda. At least the manager Erin Morgan was cool. How about some kind of credit...nothing says I'm sorry like $20 or $50. read more

I usually go to this branch even though there is one that is more convenient to my work, due to the efficiency and good customer service. I also recently had a fantastic mortgage experience with Donnie Featherstone; he truly went above and beyond in helping me get the mortgage done. I actually put an offer on a place while Donnie was on vacation; despite being on a cruise ship, he still put together a pre-approval letter for me in just a few days, and was communicating with both my agent and the seller's agent. When my offer was accepted (not long after Donnie was back), he was at my place until past 10:00 p.m., helping me put together all the loan application materials needed so that I could meet the seller's deadlines; he was also able to match another rate offer I had received. As for the process itself, Donnie was always very responsive and available, and made everything run very smoothly. I knew I could rely on him to take care of things, and he helped keep the process from being overwhelming for me, which I really appreciated as this was my first home purchase. In addition, both my real estate agent and the escrow agent have emphasized to me how great it was to work with Donnie. The buying process was a whirlwind to me, but Donnie helped keep me sane, something I am very grateful for! read more

I have been a customer of Chase Bank for over 20 years. I failed to receive my monthly statement one month. They refused to reverse the late fee for that months payment and were quite rude when I called their help line. I ended up cancelling the credit card. They had previously increased the interest rate on that card and appeared not interested in keeping my business. I was told that I should be tracking my statements on line, rather than expecting them to send me a statement. I will be taking my business to another bank from now on. read more

I just opened a Chase credit card and the automatic payment did not successfully transfer the funds over. I received a letter in the mail really late about it and called their 1-800 # immediately to try to get it resolved. The operator told me she'd waive any late fees and suggested that I go online to submit my information again. The next day I log into my account and there's a $39 late fee! SO I called AGAIN and told the second operator what had happened the day before and that I was told my late fees were to be waived. Now I'm told that the first operator shouldn't have waived or tried to waive anything, and that she only waived my TELEPHONE fee bc Chase charges a fee whenever you make a payment over the telephone. WTH?! I WASN'T TOLD that by the first operator. So now operator #2 is refusing to waive the $39 fee when I was already previously told it would be waived. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was sent to his voicemail. Seriously banking shouldn't be this difficult. I've had accounts with Wells Fargo for years and they always waive fees when mishaps like this one. This is a first for me that I've recieved such rude and inconsistent banking service. read more

I was leery of going to any downtown Berkeley branches cause the other bank I went to there was full of bankers, foreign students?, who could use some more English lessons. Called ahead to Chase to ask if they had parking. Dennis says yes. I have to ask him where it is. He vaguely describes where. I get there and it is a pay garage with no sign about Chase customers so I back car out to call to make sure it is the right garage. Then he tells me they validate. Why would I know that I ask him? So I go in and the private client area is closed. I am told by the teller that Dennis is the only private client banker there, so I wait and wait and wait for him. She does not tell me to sit in waiting area for him so I am standing. The layout of the place is poor since the bankers can't see the waiting area so I am afraid to go sit down. Other bankers leave for the day and refuse to help me. I was thinking of moving my account to that branch. Not. Got my validation from the teller who could not really speak English and left for good. Should have trusted the bad Yelp reviews and avoided this branch. read more

My family and I would like to thank Donnie Featherstone for his help. He is the most professional and caring originator that we have worked with in past years during the loan process. Donnie was tremendous in the service he provided when we went to him in need of a loan for our new home in Folsom, CA. Everything flowed smoothly, quickly and accurately. Donnie was very good at keeping us up to date on what was happening with the loan. Donnie called us numerous times to check on how we were doing. He was also there for us when we had numerous questions regarding the loan paperwork process. Donnie was positive, straightforward, empathetic, honest, sincere and genuine. He is clearly a "10" with his financial knowledge, skills, and experience. Thank You" Donnie, we really appreciate your efforts on our behalf. We are very impressed with you and Chase Mortgage. We will certainly recommend you to future clients! Regards, Tatyana read more

I recently had my home refinanced from Wells Fargo to Chase Bank. Mr. Donnie Featherstone was superb. Although, my loan cleared a few months ago, whenever I have a real estate question, I will call him to this very day for advice on how to move forward with one other additional refinance loan that I will be doing in the very near future. I love it when you call, if he can not answer, once you leave your message, he will let you know that he can't speak to you at that moment, but he will call you back as soon as he is able, and he does. This experience was so opposite from the experience that I had with Wells Fargo which is why I was willing to move my home mortgage from Wells Fargo to Chase Bank. Once my home loan went through, I told Mr. Featherstone that I had another piece of real estate refinancing to do, and once I was ready I would be contacting him. Mr. Featherstone walks the line of being very professional, and at the same time, one feels he is not just trying to complete a business deal, but you feel that he also has your best interest at heart. I do not understand all the legal jargon that goes on with refinancing a loan, but Mr. Featherstone walked me through the process completely. I have already recommended him to friends. My mother has also used his services, and has been very pleased. Mr. Donnie Featherstone without a question will continue to be our families real estate "go to person" even if he ever were to leave Chase Bank and decided to go elsewhere. Our family believes when you find someone who is professional, timely, and who returns your calls, and answers all of your questions, then you continue to use their services for as long as they are in business. Mr. Featherstone, I thank you for the professionalism that you have shown me and my family . read more
