I've had Charter bundle for a few years now. I'm a low maintenance customer. I've seen service vary between ok and poor over the years. Phone echo and intermittent voice - often have to redial. TV seems ok but sometimes pixelates. The internet occasionally ok with speed test results up to 30Mb/s. More often it's not and speed checks are around 10. Mote recently it's been poor with download in the 1 to 3 Mb/s which is pathetic. Not worth the $144 / month I pay. I'm shopping for another ISP. read more

If your a new client, excellent service. If you've been with them for 12 years, they could care less if you do business with them. One of their guys cut our line, while servicing the neighbors cable. My husband approached him and he said not my businsss! Uh not only your business-you cut our cable. We went for day and a half because of it. I called for a credit. I was offered $3. Their employee caused the problem! The woman could care less. Horrible customer service. If you leave the company, a manager will call you about 3 months later asking why? Lol way to late to respond. No ability to retain customers. Get they are starting to see a difference in numbers from this now. read more

Called Charter this morning at noon for a service call about our internet speed. Was told they'd send a tech out by 1pm. Sure enough, the tech, William, showed up right on time and helped us with the issue. I was very impressed with their response time , and how polite and helpful William was. Thank you. read more

I have had Charter for 9 months, since they took over West Richland. That began a nightmare of Herculean proportions. EVERY month on the phone with them about the internet. No less than 20 service tech visits in the last 9 months! Including one tech I just about physically removed from my house. I pay 230 a month for cable and internet and refuse to put up with this. I have filed a complaint with the BBB as well as the FCC and the state Attorney General. Today they never bothered to show up for the scheduled appointment for the second time in a month. Steer clear of this company, they are the most abysmal cable company on the planet. They also are famous for adding charges on your bill without permission. If you have them already, check you bill EVERY MONTH! They had mine up to 300 before i realized what they were doing and called them. BAD NEWS!! ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO GET CHARTER!!! read more

Charter internet service is running between .25-.75 Mbps when paying for 50 Mbps of service. When trying to contact Charter of their issue, no one even picks up the phone. There is no other method of reporting and they offer no explanation. read more

They get a lot of crap but i think its because people just want to complain. I only have internet through charter but the install and whole process was very easy and the speeds are great. Get your own router! Do not rent one, you are just wasting money for low grade equipment. No contracts are awesome too if you want out of a previous contract they will buy it out for you. read more

Their Internet service is okay, but they constantly bug me to sign up for their TV service. I'm happy with a different TV service and have told them this repeatedly. I was getting called once a week minimum by some high-school drop-out at a call center that barely spoke English. I finally cussed into the phone and demanded they remove me off their list. I have not had a call since, but I'm getting junk mail from them in my mailbox, and regular spam email without an option to opt-out. This is the worst customer service I've ever had. I'm hoping there are other options for Internet as well, because I do not like it that any of my money goes to a garbage organization like these spam junkies. read more

Charter has the worst customer service imaginable. I called to cancel my charter service and in order to retain me they promised me a minimal credit to my account which I agreed to. Long story short (and a million calls to Charter) and it's 90 days later and they still haven't given me my credit. I just got off the phone with a Charter rep and he basically told me to give up, they are never going to give it to me and he refused to transfer me to anyone who could help. Reprehensible. Don't trust them. read more

They showed no consideration for a long term subscriber. Asked for relief after monthly charge took a large jump. In this era of numerous possibilities for service, you would think someone would care about brand loyalty. Learned a long time ago that retaining current customers is a much less expensive venture than trying to acquire new ones. read more

Zero Stars. I had to threaten to sue them to get the $200 rebate they promised me at sign-up. To make matters worse, then I had to endure two years of unbelievably bad service, internet, cable TV and phone outages. I'd keep looking if I were you. Frontier Communications is even worse, by the way. read more

We called because of poor internet speeds for quite a while. The last repairman just told me the truth....they are charging for speeds their infrastructure cannot deliver, to nothing they can do if the speed I'm purchasing isn't available in my neighborhood. Some days the speed is less than 5, days when there's likely lots of folks online. I will vote for regulating utilities based on Charter's performance, and would use something else if available, but we are a forced subscriber as there are no alternatives right now. read more

I hate Charter. We pay for decent internet but it goes out ALL the time! We have outages every month. This time it was a day and a half, and they said they could not get a technician out for 3 more days! But it miraculously came back on its own, go figure. They always try to blame my modem or my wireless adapter and tell me to buy new ones, but then their Internet comes back on later without me doing anything. It is also VERY slow. I had Frontier and it was no better. Is there any other choice? This is not good. read more

I'm using my Yelp app on my android phone and my T-Mobile data plan to write this review because once again my charter internet is out. This happens all to frequently (1-3 times a month). Every time I'm told that they'll be happy to send out a technician but if it's not a problem with their equipment but a problem with my modem/router (which they always blame... See others' reviews) they'll charge me. I would be at the mercy of their technicians and I wouldn't trust them to be honest. Tempting to switch to unlimited wireless data and use my phone as a mobile hotspot. I hate you charter. read more

I have one of the services. I get calls upsaling other services. To me this is telemarketing. Upsetting because I am already there customer. read more

The only reason this company survives is that they have no competitors. Their service is badly overpriced, low quality and of questionable business practice. Going to the Kennewick office is like dealing with junk yard dogs. Use extreme caution when dealing with them read more

Finally cut the cord. Consistently poor and wavering speeds, daily sales calls despite formally opting out, high cost for poor service and no willingness to reduce plan costs. Switched to DSL and now have twice the speeds consistently for half the price. Would have paid more just to be rid of charter. Horrible model for how to retain customers. read more

Has appointment they never showed... I call only to find out they canceled on me without notifying me.... The TV service is horrible and so is the customer service the local phone number is disconnected so u have to call a 1800 number I'm disgusted n waiting for a phone call from someone... But the BBB will definitely be getting a call from me as well they got one star cuz I couldn't not give any stars read more

Possibly the worst company to deal with. Signed up for WiFi during a promotion, was offered a package deal with WiFi and tv after every sentence and turned it down. I look at my bill, and they signed me up for tv anyway and charged me for the equipment install and charged me monthly for it, even though I never received the equipment or used the service. It took almost a month for them to issue a refund after being transferred on the phone multiple times. Then the WiFi service was terrible. Super spotty, down all the time and slow. I called in to put the service on a seasonal hold because I was moving, they said they would get it done. I checked my billing statement and nothing had changed, and they had charged me for WiFi for two months when I was supposed to be on a hold. So I called to cancel my service and ask for a refund in full. I returned my equipment and it's now been a week, my bill says I owe money for the "unreturned equipment" and they charged me again for WiFi this month. I still don't have a refund and they haven't cancelled service and they're still charging me. Spent multiple hours on the phone with this company to try and get them to do right, and all these problems happened in only 4 months that I had service!! I will never go back, and I hope nobody ever signs up for this wishy washy two faced company. read more

We got service installed quite a while ago, we are supposedly receiving up to 100Mbps. However, we are frequently unable to even access the internet and when we run speed tests we see speeds around 10-14 Mbps. Really? When I called Charter I was told that I should go to Starbucks in order to complete my time-sensitive tasks. read more

Maybe it was just my lucky day, but I am a new customer and Charter couldn't have been more helpful. I had questions about getting piping to bury for my house being built, and the really friendly lady actually went and got the guy so I could talk to him. They normally only do this on a certain day, but he had the time and he just took care of it. I was expecting the have to make another appointment and come back, so was incredibly pleased. THANKS! read more

Very awful internet service. I was watching video online this afternoon then suddenly the speed dropped down and I can not open any webpage. It recovered the next day. So modified my former rate. read more

So anybody that has charter cable get ready for a rude awakening! Mr. David Andreski in charge of marketing has sent out a letter telling us that our cable bills will be going up at least $50. Mine personally will go up $54. I have been with Charter for over 10 yrs. I have pd. anywhere from $130 to $180. I have had issues with them on variety of issues. So I call on this & am told I was on a promo, which I didn't know & they have no promos avail. now. So stuck w/ $50 increase. So get ready people all your bills will be going up! I for one am tired of it! I'm disconnecting & going else where. Hmm? Wonder how long Mr. Andreski will be in charge of marketing if we all disconnect after getting our increases & no way to prevent it! How convenient too no promos at the time. So Run people cause they are going into your pockets even deeper. Breakdown, $100.96 for cable. $51.99 for internet & $19.99 for phone. I know I can get it cheaper, just didn't do it before now. Well I am NOW! read more

Having been in Pullman and having tried Time Warner cable I can promise you that Charter is MUCH better. I think the people here are spoiled and would have a heart attack if they had to live with what the internet is like in other places. At least Charter actually gives you the bandwidth promised, name one other internet provider that does that. Charter is also on par for what Time Warner cable charges in Pullman for roughly the same features internet, cable, etc, minus Time Warners SLOW cable internet. Yes, the internet goes out sometimes, but its only for a few hours here and there. read more

If I could give it a zero, I would. Two days in a row and service goes out and if i hadn't forced and issue after contacting them twice each time, they would have never fixed it. Service is never the speed the claim it is and is often slowed down to the point it is slower than dial-up. read more

Can I give them zero stars??? I had service from charter at my last house. I have recently moved and requested service at my new address. They told me they would have cable lines buried within 2 weeks. I got a phone call back that said it was a mistake and it would take another month and a half. I called to verify that they were still coming to bury my cable lines and they said they had switched the appointment to another month down the road. Not only did I have to call them to get a confirmation, but I never changed by appointment to a later date. Furthermore I had cancelled service at my previous address but they keep charging me. Charter now owes me $300.00 dollars but they are having a really hard time giving me my money back for a service I do not have. They tried to blame the weather on why I hadn't gotten service to my address but it was 70 degrees here a couple days ago. Worst customer service I have EVER gotten in my life. And did I mention they are charging me for service I don't have because they have my credit card on file. I have been burlerized and robbed in the past and this feels exactly the same. I would choose no internet any day of the week than to deal with these yahoos! I can't wait until VPN's and streaming services put this company out of business. Karma is a hell of a thing! read more

On December 28, 2012, my husband and I waited in line, at the Kellogg St. facility for over two hours (12:10 pm - 3:05 pm). The customer waiting area was full (about 4 dozen customers were waiting) and so over-crowded, I noticed the air conditioner was turned on. When we arrived, there were 2 associates who were helping customers who were not paying bills (i.e., dealing with equipment). After we had waited in line for about a half hour, one of the associates put up a sign indicating her window was closed and she went on a 45 minute break. During the interim, the other associate very slowly dealt with the ever-growing line of customers. This associate seemed to frequently step away from her window and would be gone for minutes at a time. At one point, I feared a riot when customers angrily began asking to be waited on (because there were no associates helping customers). A man who appeared to be doing nothing except stocking cabinets explained that there were no other associates he could call. When my husband demanded to speak to the manager, the man said he was the manager and there was nothing he could do. Give me a break! What a worthless manager! As we waited, several people in line got on their cell phones and called Charter Communications and complained. They were told that additional help would be immediately dispatched. Yeah, right! Customer service - NOT! read more

We signed up for their special bundle package 2 years ago, $100 for programming, phone and internet. A year later, it jumped to 144. I called to see if I could get the price down and was told they'd take 10 off if I removed the dvr feature. I was okay with that as we don't use it and she told me she'd remove that from my bill. The following month I noticed that the bill hadn't changed. After spending all that time on hold with them on the previous call, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and continued to pay the bill. A year later, the bill has jumped to $170. I contacted them to find out this is the 'real' price for their basic programming, the dvr service (the person I spoke with the last time failed to tell me that I needed to return the cable box if I wanted to remove the dvr feature), phone and their lowest internet speed. I'm more than disgusted and plan to quit all but the internet. read more

IT'S A TRAP! At the moment, their service sucks almost as much as their "help". If you know how to turn a modem off and on, don't bother calling the 888 number they give you, its not worth your hour and a half of trying to talk to a real person, and then having that person telling you to do basic things that any idiot would try. That's what they do, they treat you like an idiot. The service person in Illinois was nice, but didn't help at all. We have had 4 technicians in to try and fix it and non of them can fix it. They say nothing is wrong, and yet our wifi is slow, and dies every hour and we have to manually restarted the modem. They wont let me talk to their boss and no one will give me their number. They don't care. It has been over a month and our problem still hasn't been fixed. Sadly there aren't really any other good options. We have had them for 5ish months or something now, and before there were no problems. Now we cant do simple tasks on the internet without it going down. Even going to the physical HQ doesn't work. They say they care. They lie. It's a trap. read more
