I think there should be two or three categories to rate a doctor. Their expertise, their bedside manner and their ability to communicate based on being able to read their patient's personality. That last one is not really possible.
Dr. Charn is VERY knowledgeable. He has been honest and has no issues telling you that if you want another opinion, by all means, go to it. He's busy, but when he's talking to you, one on one, he takes the time to do so and he will answer your questions, even if they seem dumb, and he gives you the dignity to make your own decisions, even if he disagrees with them. I don't mind doctors that are upfront and to the point, many do, so giving a doctor a bad review based on his bedside manner, I feel, is unfair. It has nothing to do with his expertise and care. Being aloof and rude goes against our wanting to be treated kindly, so I understand the feelings, but if a physician really knows his stuff and will be honest in his care, I'll take that over being coddled. read more
