I love this place!! The converted house is genius! Plenty of seating, I love the room with windows covering two walls. They have wonderful seating outdoors. They have seating upstairs as well if you need a quiet place to study/work. WI-Fi is available. Parking can be a bear, but they have a small lot down the street reserved for guests and the drive through makes a quick stop for lunch break feasible. The service and employees are phenomenal: I've witnessed a long line decimated in a matter of minutes by a caring and efficient system. Ask questions or have special dietary needs; they are eager to seek answers or possible solutions. I love the food. I have been several times and I keep meaning to take pictures of the meals I order, but always get to talking and forget... sigh. I've tried the chicken noodles, very good. A heaping portion served hot and full of wonderful chicken and sauce. I had to take half home... :) I enjoy the wraps, they have choice between regular, wheat, spinach, tomato. The chicken salad is wonderful. I usually get it with lettuce and tomato. Comes with chips. About the best food you can get anywhere around Danville. Charlotte's is a homey country style type of place. It literally is in an old house so it's supposed to feel like your home or someone's. Friendly seeming staff and they're fast. The food mostly is meaty stuff but there's some vegetables. Here was another case of just passing through and needing to stop anywhere for a bite. In Danville there's not that many other places to go. This place is located downtown and has a few shops around it. Coffee is the beverage of choice among customers. They have some basic stuff. Americano is about as fancy as it gets. It's $3.89 for a cup. The food menu is small but has some good stuff. I got the Fruited Salad because it was about the only vegetarian item on the entire menu, which is mostly stuff like bacon and chicken. It's about $8 for a pretty good amount of greens. There's fruit like blueberries and strawberries. Come here for some decent food. It isn't anything close to being special but it's about the best you can get around here. Wish I could give this place zero stars. So disappointing. Food was expensive and horrible. Asked what people like and the cashier taking our order recommended the Italian roast beef sandwich. The bun was cold and soggy (untoasted), the meat was cold, there was no flavor. I took it back to the kitchen to ask about if it should be cold, they threw it in the microwave, making it soggier and tough to eat. My friend got the chicken salad on a croissant. I've been coming here with my grandparents ever since I was a kid. The food is some of the best that you can get in Danville and everything is made fresh. The business has been passed through the family and the staff has always been so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It's in an old house, which is beautiful. Some of the best seating is in the "sunroom". It's always been my favorite place to sit. Their chicken noodle soup has amazing flavor and their sandwiches have a lot of meat and fixings. During a little break during my sons Midget State wrestling tournament, I grabbed my nieces and said let's get out of here and grab something to drink quick. I pulled Yelp up and found this cute little eatery/coffee house; an older home converted. We walked in and was welcomed immediately with friendly service. The staff was helpful making our drink choices and the girls all left with hot cocoas and I had a pumpkin spiced chi tea with almond milk. Very very good! I'm a HUGE fan of another chains chi tea and I have to tell ya.... I think the other place just got beat! Next time I am over this way I would defiantly stop in. read more

The ambiance is awesome. Friendly staff. Walk in and order at the register from a large chalk board. Very cool old house. On average, I eat lunch here about once a week to every other week. I usually like the atmosphere and the food is pretty good. I've alway enjoyed their soup, sandwiches and in the summer sitting outside is always so peaceful. Today the lady working the counter was rude when we walked in and they charged us $0.50 each for 3 waters. Maybe that's appropriate if you've not ordered a full meal, maybe not. Either way I ordered 4 meals, 1 drink and 3 waters for my party and was not expecting to pay for tap water. Of course there is a cost for tap water to a business...the cost of washing the glass and someone delivering it to the table. That cost is generally considered a courtesy to a customer purchasing food. Charging for tap water is petty and not in good taste. I probably won't return. :( read more

Hands down a favorite in Danville . Not only are you supporting a local owned small business which is always what I gear towards, you're getting great service and food. Their raspberry tea and cheddar broccoli soup are my favorites . Enjoyed a friend date here recently with her newborn baby and everyone was so friendly , it's such a warm inviting atmosphere with amazing eateries . First things first this review in ONLY about the coffee here, not the food or restaurant service. I've only had the coffee here, not stopped in for lunch. Next, this is the best coffee in Danville. With that said, it is not very good coffee, but it is the best you can get here. I break down my reviews into sections and then average the reviews for a total score. The reviews are based on quality throughout the world, not just what you expect from Danville. Location: It's a good location. In the center of Danville, in an old house, one could actually walk here. Kudos to the owners for opening something like this in this part of town. Rating: 3 Stars Ambiance/Facilities: Decent, well better than decent. It's an old house. A bit too cute, country and patriotic for me, but at least it has some personality and character. So much better than the bland chains (you know who I am talking about). Rating: 3 Stars Service: Very good. Best part of the restaurant. Everyone is super nice and super helpful. The service really can't be much better. Rating 4 Stars Coffee: Ugh, I wish it were better. At least the shots are pulled on a real espresso machine, a Faema from the 1980s. Problem is the machine hasn't been serviced in probably 10 years. Needs to be serviced and cleaned. Additionally shots are too bold and bitter yet they are pulling in 8-10 second. Get your grind right people. The shots are also incredibly inconsistent. Milk is steamed...well heated...with no air in the milk at all. Even Starbucks auto-machines fluff the milk up better. Still, at least it is steamed to a good temperature. The worst part of the whole deal, the coffee is served in a styrofoam cup. What? This is the worst. Buy some paper cups for to-go for hell sakes! Rating: 1 Star Value: I am a bit confused about this. I used to go there and pay in the upper $3 range and at this price I could justify coming here. Last time I went here it was over $5. I've heard many great reviews about Charlotte's, and it is definitely well-deserved! When you walk in to Charlotte's, you see a huge chalkboard menu highlighting the food available that day. What that immediately tells me is that the menu is fresh and always changing! I like that a lot about a menu. You order at the front counter, then find a seat to wait for your food. I ordered the "Healthy Salad" and a cup of spinach artichoke soup. I decided on the healthy salad based on a regular's suggestion upon arrival. Man, was I glad I listened to him! This salad is literally one of the best salads I've ever had! The key to this salad is the yogurt poppyseed dressing. I've never had anything like it. I was in town visiting family. Was looking for a unique place to eat lunch on day of arrival before family were home. What a friendly staff! Outdoor eating spaces are beautiful- shady, flowers abound. Now about the food-- I had a salad that had salmon, fresh tomatoes and the dressing was a delicious tomato , horseradish mayo base. I had a cup of homemade vegetable soup that was tasty too. For drink I had iced ginger peach tea and refills are just 25cents. It was all so enjoyable that as I was leaving town I went through the drive thru for a salad to go. This time spinach with strawberries and was equally delicious. I love Charlotte's! When I first moved to Danville this was one of the first places people recommended that I go to eat. I'm so glad they did. I ordered a carrot cake one time and it was the best cake I've ever had in my life! I asked the waitress how they made it and she described the day that she made it for the first time (mixing two recipes on accident!) and it was so personal. The noodles and sauce had a good flavor, but then you take a huge bite of there mash potato's to find out they are instant. They are not even a good instant potato. The service is always great! It is a very quiet, lovely setting. The atmosphere it is very different from the rest of Danville. It is laid back, and very relaxing, which makes it a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the small city. The food is always fantastic. I ADORE the turkey on croissant! I get it almost every time I go! When they offer the brick oven pizzas, I also enjoy getting those. All in all, it is a great place with pleasant service, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere. My daughter took me to a quaint little tea room In the Irvington area Of Indianapolis, Charlotte's can easily hold its own with this little tea house. If we didn't live in this oppressed area, maybe we could support more small (non-fast food chain type) restaurants.OH! I forgot to tell you, some of the pastries are straight from Paula Deen.
