Stayed at the Hyatt for a conference and made it to Charlie's. Since we're in Texas, had to try something with brisket. Behold, the Texas Ruben...not your everyday sandwich, mind you. This gem was Texas sized with big tender pieces of smoked brisket, topped with swiss cheese, thousand Island and sauerkraut all on marble rye. Accompanied with a decent portion of hot, crispy, seasoned fries, this was more than a meal. This take on the Ruben is one for the ages. If you're looking a good size snack, try the pretzels. This place was a struggle for me. During the daytime they had this location open for our breakfast service bar and everything went great. Clean, friendly staff, plenty of seats. The nighttime bar scene was good too, except that they have an open barrel of peanuts and they are everywhere. Tables, floor, bar area. For the average person no big deal. For me, someone with an allergy, it was a bummer. Felt like I couldn't touch anything and I had open sandals so I had to egg shell walk ever step to avoid contact. I came here for a drink after a day of work and to see how the spot was. It was about 4:30pm and the place was pretty empty, additionally they didn't have any happy hour specials! I was a little disappointed by that but the bartenders were all very friendly. I got a gin and soda and it ended up being about $8 which was a little expensive for the size of the glass. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, high end bar paired with the worst food. I was absolutely shocked at the poor quality of food. Starting with the water Queso and chips followed by the cheese water Mac and cheese. Literally water on muddles. No flavor at all. The ribs were just as bad. It's sad that chili's has better food than this high end joint. I will say, the potato salad was on point. Even though I left full, I was highly unsatisfied. The bartender Kyle was great. The food is ok and the drinks were made well. Kyle made our time here worthwhile. Hope they keep him around. Too many customers feel very entitled here at times and add alcohol to that and it's more than some might take. I've seen him keep his composure when I would have lost mine. I had an Old Fashioned, but I think the bar tender vaguely knows what that means. It was pretty bad. I should have ordered something easier to mix. Maybe 1 alcohol + 1 mixer would have met the mark. We really came for a late dinner due to our travel schedule. That was a mistake. The bar food is exactly as advertised. The good hit was that they gave peanuts that you could shell and eat to your hearts content. Fortunately, I gorged on peanuts to make up for the lack of quality dining choices. Nutshells all over the place (which just feels weird in this resort). Cavernous high ceilings, feels like you're drinking a dirty squash court. There's a lounge bar on the property but it closes at 9pm. Useless when you're having dinner at Antlers and want to have a relaxing few drinks afterwards. Wine selection is absolutely terrible and the cocktail list not at all inviting. This is a really nice looking bar that is totally dead this time of year. I really don't know why these people are here one week before Christmas. The ambiance feels more like an upscale saloon with only a couple of flat screens for sports. The other side opens up to a walking balcony overlooking the Hyatt resort grounds where people are allowed to light-up. The food choice is extremely limited but they do have Guinness and bass. I ordered the burger. It's a decent tasting burger which is actually prepared downstairs in their other restaurant. It's an acceptable place to eat in a pinch when you really don't feel like driving towards 1604. This place is not a good place to dine if you are a vegetarian, concerned about your cholesterol or have time to drive somewhere else. However, if you're itching to play darts or just don't wish to be driving after a few, then it will do just fine. read more

My family and I have been coming to this resort since I was a little girl. It's one of our favorite spots. We tried Charlie's for the first time and it was utterly disappointing. It's a bar, with food, and most of the guests were drinking. We came in around 9 and it took 40 minutes for them to make our 4 meals. They came out cold, and the food was awful. read more

The Hyatt resort where Charlie's is located is lovely, decorated for the holiday. The bartenders are attentive & capable. Parking is free. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a pool table, football table, shuffleboard, and buck hunting video game, making it easy to pass the time while waiting for your food. Enjoyed the chili cheese fries, but did not care for the cheeseburger. They also had a self-serve nacho bar for $10 for adults or $5 for kids; I didn't try it, but it looked like a good deal for those who love nacho cheese and guacamole.
