She kept telling me that the teacher would tell her to go and find work to do. My child only attended the campus in river place for 2-3 days and they still charged me over $1200.00 dollars. I do not recommend this place at all!

The campus is impressive, with well-maintained facilities and a playground that could be every kid's dream. The teachers seem friendly and dedicated to their jobs. However, we had a negative experience with our 22-month-old son who had never been to a daycare before. We decided to enroll both of our kids in a full-day program from 8am to 3pm, despite having to commute 30 minutes every day for drop-off and pick-up. In the first week, the teachers suggested that we pick up our son at noon because he cried excessively, which was understandable. However, in the second week, they allowed him to stay until 3 pm for two days and then asked us to switch him to a half-day program because he was crying too much, and it was affecting the other kids. One day, we dropped our son off at school and left for home. As soon as we arrived at our garage, we received a call from the front desk staff requesting us to come back and pick him up in 20 minutes. Our son had cried so much that he vomited his breakfast, which we had previously informed the school was a normal reaction for him when crying, and not a sign of illness. When we told the staff that it would take us 30 minutes to return, they repeatedly asked if we had any friends or relatives who lived closer to the school to pick him up sooner, which we found odd. After several sick pickups in the middle of the day, the head of the school, Nichole, asked us to transfer our son to a half-day program to avoid disturbing other kids during their nap time. When we informed Nichole that we had enrolled our son in a full-day program but were asked to switch him to a half-day, she refused to refund us the portion of the tuition that we had already paid for the full month. Instead, she only agreed to refund us $3.58 for the two half-days, which we found confusing. Our advice for you is that be careful if you want SitH to be your child's very first daycare/preschool. They might not be able to soothe your kid and may put your family in the same situation like us. And you will lost a lot of money for them (their application fee, registration fee, security deposit, material fee, tuition fee. All are very pricey). We decided to enroll our children in another school the day after withdrawing them from School in the Hill, which turned out to be the best decision we ever made. Our son stayed in school until 5 pm every day and returned home happily. Another thing to be aware of is that the ZZ palm plants in the classrooms are poisonous from root to leaves. If your child loves plants or puts things in their mouth, please be cautious. We had asked Daniel, one of the school founders, to remove these plants, but they were still there when our children left the school. I have attached a photo of the plant, and I suggest you do some research about it.

For the sake of brevity, I feel that the most important thing that parents considering this facility should know is that it is no longer a Montessori. None of the teachers are Montessori certified so they're essentially charging Montessori prices for standard daycare. The owner, Jennifer was dishonest with the parents when they moved to this location from the Jollyville location where our daughter attended so I would recommend taking anything that she says with a grain of salt.

TLDR: We had some wonderful/loving experiences with Ms. Cynthia and Ms. Mayada, but have zero trust…read morein owner Jennifer Weerasuria and her husband Matt Nachreiner (COO). The way they handled our kid was completely inappropriate and painful for our family. We attended IMHOC for 2 years, and when we left our kids were 2 and 4 years old. We had slight red flags about the school here and there, but for the most part our kids were happy and seemed to be learning a lot. There was a high rate of turnover with the teachers and staff, and we experienced 3 different directors in the time that we were there. We brushed this off as par for the course at a preschool, but I really wish we hadn't. These things were symptoms of mismanagement and poor judgment on behalf of Jennifer Weerasuria and Matt Nachreiner. A few weeks ago we noticed that our 4 year started having more emotional tantrums and started expressing that he didn't want to go to school. This was unusual behavior, but we chalked it up to being a new developmental stage. We were called in for a meeting with Jennifer Weerasuria to discuss our son's challenging behavior. We worked with her on a really solid plan to help address the behavior, and for the first time felt like we were working with a real partner in helping our son grow. He was exhibiting behavior at school that we weren't seeing at all at home, so we were happy to have the insight and ready to help mitigate. That meeting happened at 2pm, at 5pm we got a call that we needed to pick our son up because he was having a huge tantrum. When my husband arrived, Matt brought our son out and said, "He's not welcome to come back here, man." He said this right in front of our son, and we were expelled from the school on the spot. The other thing Matt said was that the only thing that he could do to "calm" our son down was that he told him that the sirens they could hear were "the police coming to get him". When I asked Matt and Jennifer why we weren't given a chance to work on our son's behavior plan before being kicked out, they said that his behavior had been concerning for weeks. If they were so concerned, why didn't they tell us weeks before? Instead of taking accountability, they blamed the Director they fired the previous month for blocking the teachers from giving us feedback. When I expressed concern over Matt's inappropriate communication with our son and lack of credentials as an educator, he said (happy to share the email): "I'm not sure why you continue bringing up that I'm not an educator, I believe we all are aware this is a fact. However, I can share that I am a parent of 3 and if one of my children ever acted the way we allowed XXX to for so long I would be embarrassed." Please think twice about whether or not you want your kids to be immersed in an environment with this kind of "leadership". Matt is frequently on campus and often working directly with the children. Our son is wrapping up his first week at a new Montessori school and he is a completely different kid. He's back to his happy/positive self and recovering quickly from being redirected. When we ask him how his day was, he chatters away about all the things he got to do at school. When we used to ask him about his day at IMHOC he would kind of clam up and not really say anything. Today he accidentally broke something at the new school, and he immediately ran away and hid. He was terrified and wouldn't come out. When the teachers finally coaxed him out and told him it wasn't a big deal, he said that at his old school he would get in a lot of trouble by "a man" and be sent to the office. Matt is the only man that works there, so clearly our son was intimidated and scared by him. This isn't how a 4 year old should be made to feel in order to help them learn.

I paid $100 deposit via PayPal for a class that was scheduled to be held at 630 pm at Austin Born the following Tuesday (April 26th). She didn't show up. There was another couple standing there with us, completely shocked that the instructor wasn't returning our calls or emails. I've left 2 voicemails, several emails and created a dispute for the charge on my PayPal account. NO RESPONSE. I called Austin Born and talked with the owner. Apparently Kathryn called her that Friday to say she wasn't going to teach the class and would be refunding people's money. She still took my money, took my time and has yet to give me just a little bit of human respect by returning my attempts to communicate. Do not go to this person, she doesn't care about pregnant mothers trying to take advanced prenatal classes. She will take your money and good luck trying to get it back. Disgusting.

I signed up online and paid the $100 to reserve my spot in the course that begins today 9/11/2016. Just a few days ago, on Sep. 7, I got an email from PayPal saying that Katherine manually returned my payment for $100 - with no other explanation. I left her a voicemail and emails inquiring whether the course had been cancelled and received zero response from her. Now in my third trimester, I'm scrambling to find another hypnobirthing course that starts soon so I can complete it before I go into labor. It's pretty shocking how this fell through and with no basic decency to at least send an email if the course was cancelled or overbooked. I went a month thinking I was all set. Reading the other reviews, I suppose it could have been worse - I don't have to fight to get my money back at least. Still I am so disappointed by this, and will be telling OBGyn North about my experience. They should not be recommending this course to their clients because this business is unreliable.
