I regret to say that my experience with Grand Canyon Planning has been extremely disappointing. I…read moreseldom write reviews, especially negative ones, I generally feel why take the time to say negative things about a service provider but in this case, I felt it was necessary. I became a client of Grand Canyon Planning in 2012, I was recently divorced and wanted a new financial planner to advise me and grow my money. I met with John Dombrowski and we developed a plan to accomplish these goals. First and foremost, communication--or lack thereof--is appalling. After our initial meetings, I was promised regular updates and check-ins regarding my investments as is customary with most planners. This has not been the case; I have NEVER once heard from him in the more than twelve years since the day I signed the papers. I called him about five years after I signed the papers and asked about my investments, about ten years ago and he had no explanation for the complete lack of communication but offered a flimsy apology. I then moved the funds from two accounts to a different planner who has been an absolute rockstar, making me terrific returns. After that call with John, I never heard from him again even though he promised he would stay in touch with me. I have one remaining product with him, an annuity that has been locked in and I was unable to move until now. I am in the process of moving it to my planner as I write this review, I must pay a nominal penalty which I am happy to do and will make up in just a couple of months. John is the only one that benefitted from this product, I certainly have not. I would use the word abysmal to describe the choices John recommended. If you're looking for someone who prioritizes your financial future and maintains clear communication, look elsewhere.

Saw the TV Show, it talked about everything I need re accessing my 401k, taxes, Medicare Premiums…read moreetc. Made an appointment. Got asked to bring a bunch of tax, 401 info. When I arrived, you can't park outside unless you use Vallet parking, the guy I saw never once asked to see the info I'd been told to bring, Stewart Willis was sitting in his office and made an excuse to pop in and say hi. The advisor made a few notes , most of my questions were about taxes, IRA conversions, avoiding Medicare Premiums like I'd seen on the tv show. He said he wasn't a tax guy but they had them and it was too close to tax time for them to do my taxes. He talked about investing my money and I had to ask what they charged. I was told I would get an email in a few days re a plan for investing. Never got an email or any contact. After several weeks I called them, was eventually put through to the guy I had seen who apologized for letting me fall through the cracks. He sent me an email requesting secure information most of which I had taken to the meeting. Didn't mention accessing funds or IRA conversions etc. I didn't send anything and have heard nothing since! My appointment was in March!! Draw your own conclusion re what you see on the show and what they actually want you to do!!

Received an invitation through regular snail mail to attend a financial seminar. I called, made a…read morereservation for myself and a friend. THE DAY OF THE SEMINAR, I received a text that I was not eligible for the seminar. I had to call my friend to tell them the event was off. If this business cannot manage a simple thing like their invite list, do you think they can manage your money? Beware!
