I had the unfortunate experience to interact with a customer service rep named Ashley p in Denver. Her rude demeanor and abrupt and abrasive manner was uncalled for. I asked 3 people at the cherry creek branch to have the manager call me. Days later I never received a response so I called the call center. They assured me that they would have my request forwarded to the cherry creek manager. A week later , I have not received a call. What has happened to the once high quality of Schwab's client service? There was a time that you could count on Schwab reps being courteous and competent. Apparently service is no longer a priority at Charles Schwab at their branches. Schwab needs to take a real good look at Ashley p and ask if she should be representing the mission of the organization. I don't think so. read more

Been with this bank for 5 years and a one star is rating pushing it! I NEVER know my correct balance because their systems are always down or not updated! Customer service never knows how to help! I have Problems with card constantly and get no real solutions other than wait it out and see if the problem fixes itself! The bank as a whole not just this location is NOT THE VIBE!! read more

Avoid like the plague. These idiots made mistake after mistake with my account, a SEP-IRA with my employer. To begin, they got my personal details wrong. I don't quite remember exactly what was wrong (it was either SSN or last name misspelled); however, the end result was that I was not able to access my account because there was a mismatch between the correct information I was putting in the portal vs what they had under my record. I thought maybe that I made a mistake with the form I submitted to them, but I confirmed that I filled out the form correctly. Someone on their end fat fingered it. Worse, they put my money in a money market account and didn't bother to let me know that my account was not authorized to make any trades, and I didn't realize for many many months that this was the case. I remembered making an attempt a few times to trade unsuccessfully. This was during the Covid pandemic, and there was a bit of change going on at work especially WRT retirement accounts, so I didn't prioritize watching my investments with Charles Schwab and seeing this through. I missed out on 1 year of pandemic gains. Usually employer plans allow you to choose elections upon registration or by default put you in some aged based plan. Schwab by default put it all in a money market and their portal was a mess. Schwab NEVER once bothered to inform me that there was a hold on my account. Not by email, not by mail, not by secure message on the portal, or not by indication on the portal (say a warning in RED upon login). They were never able to tell me why my account was suspended either - I've talked to multiple employees, and they were all evasive. At this point, I didn't bother asking them to fix it (I'm not sure they even knew how), as I had made up my mind I can't trust these idiots with my money. read more

She said she would send me an email with some information on setting up the college account, something we had to do on our own without her help, and I never got anything. A relative recently passed away and we received a call from Schwab's Estate Services Department. They indicated that some funds were left to us from the relative and they required that some forms be filled out by us and returned to Schwab before funds could be transferred to us. The original representative never e-mailed or called us to tell us that the forms were in route, nor did she assist us in filling out the forms. The forms were filled out and faxed in. When we contacted this representative to inquire about the amounts of the funds, she provided the wrong amount that was grossly way off of the actual amount. I contacted her supervisor and asked if I could get a different representative in the Phoenix office. The supervisor declined and indicated that he would finish up the case. He did not return an e-mail or a voice message, claiming he never got it. On one set of funds he gave me the wrong amount and said that the funds would be transferred on Sept. 19 2017. They were never transferred until I called a supervisor in the Phoenix office and he was able to have these funds transferred on Sept. 21 2017. If I had not called, the funds would still be sitting there. I asked to have a statement with value of the account, name on the account, account number, and holdings either e-mailed, faxed, or mailed to me. He said he would and to this day I have never received the statement. This supervisor and his supervisor will not accept any calls from me and now I am referred to the Client Advocacy Department which in reality should be called the Employee Advocacy Department. This department could care less about me, a new Schwab client with a new Schwab account. There is no accountability. Do you think I will remain with Schwab after the way I have been treated? I did nothing wrong to deserve this type of treatment. Would you open an account with Schwab if you were treated this way? Think Twice before investing a dime in Charlie's company.
