I came into the branch because I had already tried getting assistance through the Wells Fargo call center and online banking without success. I am currently going through a divorce and need documentation of transfers between accounts for an upcoming court matter, so I was simply trying to find out what records Wells Fargo could provide and how I could obtain them. The gentleman I spoke with was short and curt with me and did not seem interested in actually listening to what I was asking. Instead, he quickly suggested that I go through 18 months of bank statements myself and look for the transfers. That completely missed the point of my request. I was NOT asking him to manually go through 18 months of transactions for me. I was asking whether Wells Fargo has a way to search for and provide records showing transfers between accounts, including dates, amounts, originating and receiving accounts, and any available transaction or reference information. What bothered me most was the lack of customer service. I felt like he jumped to a quick answer simply to shut down the conversation instead of taking a few minutes to understand what I needed and direct me to someone who could actually help. He told me no one was available and that I would need an appointment. I had absolutely no problem making an appointment--I just needed someone to listen and point me in the right direction. After being a Wells Fargo customer since 2016, I expected much better service. Experiences like this are one of the reasons I now do the majority of my banking with a credit union. Sometimes good customer service is simply listening to the customer, understanding what they are asking for, and, if you cannot help them yourself, directing them to someone who can. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at this branch.
