They decided to close down the Bethel CT branch last year that my mom had been going to and recently closed Mill plain rd. Danbury CT. which now leaves only their Main st. or Newtown rd. locations in Danbury. Despite these closures they only have 2 tellers open even during their peak hours. No matter what time I go there is always a long line so prepare to be there for a while! I guess this is so common and expected that the tellers never even apologize for the long wait. Additionally they don't have a drive through which is absolutely absurd! I spoke with my mom and we will be closing down all of her accounts and doing business with another bank!!!

I have to call every couple of months for them to go back & do it. They apologize, say they always have new ppl so that's why it doesn't get done. I've kinda just accepted it. Didn't matter at all to them that I had been a long time member without any problems. I had had several car loans and a mortgage. My daughter, not me, missed a credit card payment because of trouble signing on the their website, and being reassured by them by telephone that the payment was made. This has lowered my credit score by 30-40 points for years. On another note, they gave me detailed information on another member's accounts by accident.

I find this bank to have the WORST customer service. I am currently battling stage 3 breast cancer…read more I am too ill to work. Being that I haven't any income, I closed my bank accounts. My parents were recently in London and they brought some currency back with them, which they gave to me to exchange for American dollars. My father is a stock broker for Wells Fargo. So, I decided to exchange the currency there. I called in advance to see what their policies were regarding this type of transaction. Because I don't have an account with this bank, I wanted to make sure that I'd have no problems once I got there. I live approximately 40 minutes (each way) from the bank. I was told that there was a $5 charge to exchange foreign currency. When I got there they asked for 2 photo ID's. I only have 1. The friend that drove me there offered up their 2 photo ID's. They refused to except them. A complete stranger witnessed this frustrating situation and offered to do the transaction for me. The bank manager refused to allow me this man's help. This bank was wholly uncooperative. It wasn't as if I were making a withdrawal. They could've easily accepted the help that I was being offered by one of their customers. This perfect stranger wound up taking me to Bank of America where they did the transaction without any issue. If it were not for the kindness of a complete stranger, I would've wasted 2 hours of my day that afternoon. He wound up having to deposit the currency into his account and making a withdrawal for me. He did this because he was outraged by what he had witnessed at Wells Fargo. He found their treatment of me appalling. He told me that he was planning on closing his account with them because of this incident. This isn't my 1st bad experience with WF, but it will be the last. I will never attempt to do business with them again. I posted an accounting of what happened on Facebook and the comment thread quickly filled up with other's who had complaints about this bank. Do yourself a favor, take your business elsewhere.
