You know what I'm talking about. With that said, I went to see Dr Blank (dermatologist) for a definitive diagnoses for my boys who were showing symptoms of eczema. Dr Blank is ever so personable and has excellent hospital and teaching affiliations. She took such an interest in the boys and I never felt rushed. Be that as it may, when I went to see my primary care physician, I, upon the suggestion of my sister (first reviewer Dr. Blank) requested a referral/ suggestion for a dermatologist because of my excessive sun exposure in my 20's. I was referred to Dr. Blank. As soon as I set foot in the waiting room, I recognized the couches (My father used to have the same one lol.) Anyway, the wait was not unbearable. During my exam, I was completely honest with her when I said that I would go into the sun with SPF 30 in addition to a tanning accelerator, AND (gasps) that I used the tanning salon three different summers. I told her that I had already stopped using tanning beds and that I will stop using the tanning accelerator. She recommended to me the appropriate SPF to use especially on my face ( thought SPF15 was enough). She thoroughly looked at my skin (at what I thought was sun spots) and as of now, I have nothing to worry about. When I mentioned a disease I was born with that affects the skin, she looked at my (non painful) growths with the utmost fascination. When I mentioned that my skin feels excessively dry, she asked what soap I use and gave me samples of something that should help as well as the name of a lotion that should help. She also recommended to stay out of direct sunlight and to wear a wide brimmed hat. I would like to agree with my sister's statement. Yes, Dr. Blank is very personable. When I used to go to the pool, one woman who I will just refer to as Icarus was very much so "a sun worshiper." Her skin was dark brown, and appeared to have a leathery texture. Note to self: do not become Icarus. I have a followup with Dr. Blank in one year.

It was a bit odd for her to initiate a conversation this way. I kindly explained to her that I do have health insurance. I had provided that information several times online. I also gave my insurance information over the phone when a staff member called me to confirm my appointment the day before. I waited to be seen. Approximately 4 other patients arrived after me & were seen before me. I patiently observed this and thought I will wait to see how my visit goes before I solidify my overall impression. The PA was very informative and nice. Unfortunately she did not identify herself as a PA, just as Jacqueline Levine. They were going to charge me over $100 for simple skin tag removals which I needed to schedule at another visit. I decided i better seek out another dermatologist. Luckily, I did. And am so, so grateful for listening to my instinct. The other office - Skinworks is phenomenal. There is a location in Park Slope for all the Brooklyn folk.

I have been seeing Dr. Alan Greenspan for about 25 years. He is an incredible doctor and extremely…read morecaring, kind, and knowledgeable! He is the sole reason due to his persistence in giving me multiple biopsies that we identified that my eczema had progressed into subcutaneous lymphoma. When I was diagnosed by him he seemed more upset by the diagnosis than I was which shows how kind a doctor he is, someone who truly cares about his patients! It usually takes years to diagnose this condition because the biopsies quite often don't immediately show this diagnosis. When none of the eczema treatments worked the way they were supposed to he scratched his head and said I am going to keep poking you with biopsies until we get to the bottom of it - he said sometimes you get lucky on a biopsy and it can show something that the others don't. As it so happened after I hit my head on the side of a steel pole on my dog cage as luck would have it I was due to see him the following week. He took one look at this big awful bump on my head and said what on earth happened and asked me why I didn't come in right away - again this speaks to his truly caring nature! He then immediately said that is not at all normal and took a biopsy of it. This is the one that finally yielded a definitive diagnosis and I was diagnosed with subcutaneous lymphoma - a Stage 2b. He immediately called Dr. Horowitz a world class doctor in this type of cancer at Sloan Kettering and he pulled some strings to get me in there within a week or two - he made sure I was squeezed in. As it so happened Dr. Greenspan went on a trip to Israel when I was scheduled to go to Sloan Kettering and he told me I could call him on Whatsapp during his trip and to let him know what they had to say. I was blown away by his unselfishness and kindness - I can't imagine any other doctor caring so much!!!! I have been getting great treatment since then from Sloan and my condition is under great control. I would highly highly recommend Dr. Greenspan he is a superbly knowledgeable and very caring doctor! He is absolutely a godsend and he quite honestly may have saved my life by identifying the condition before it progressed to my blood and/or organs. Well, considering I commute from NJ, that's pretty telling how happy I am with this practice! The…read morefront office staff is always warm and friendly and willing to try their best to squeeze me in and give me skincare samples that I beg for after every appointment. As for Dr. Saitta, I've been coming in to see him for years because I am performer and I can count on him to administer Dysport conservatively assuring that I can look my best without being expressionless. If I want more, I can always address that in a followup. I believe he interested in staying up-to-date with the latest and best dermatological medicine as he's mentioned a few times seminars or articles he has read. So I do believe he knows his stuff. However, it's his bedside manner and his character that really keep me coming back. Here are two examples: I had gone to him because an office here in NJ said I needed surgery to remove a pre-cancerous mole on my back. He perused the notes and said I should go back to that office and get the surgery done "First, because its important!" and second, to avoid the delay in switching offices, new paperwork, etc. He said it would take forever and it's better I get this done than to wait. That is the mark of someone who is more concerned with a patient than making more money. I also want to mention that, financially, I went through a very rough time during Covid because I lost all of my work. I was strapped but I needed to keep getting Dysport because I was still meeting with agents and producers. I figured I'd put my bill on my credit card. During my appointment, just in casual conversation, I had mentioned my struggles to Dr. Saitta. When I walked out and went to pay, I learned he had charged me an astronomically low fee. I couldn't believe it. I left there feeling so happy and heard. Trust me, Dr. Saitta is a gem. Talented and kind? Not easy to find in a doctor these days.

I called SINY Dermatology more than 20 times over the next 2 days. I was put on hd and hung up on. I was told to go to a Big 6 pharmacy in Queens. After another 10 phone calls, I was finally given that phone and now find it is out for delivery to the CLOSED SINY Dermatology East 76 Street office. not only do they not accept Medicare- I am forced to pay the full price and in now waiting in the cold in front of the SINY Dermatology E 65 office. This place is a scam and I don't recommend it at all.

He addressed all my concerns and was able to perform 2 small procedures in one visit, unlike other dermatologists I've been to who try and milk you to come back as many times as possible while you have to walk around with an unsightly blemish for weeks until you can get another appointment.
