I've been going to New Finish Permanent Hair Removal for over a month now. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well electrolysis works! I had gone in for a consultation with Krista, about 2 months ago. She went through the entire process from start to finish about electrolysis, side effects, and how long the treatment would take. She was also upfront about the costs. 1) 30 minute sessions is $40.00 2) 1 hour session is $80.00 My first session was quite painful! Some of the hairs that were removed felt like small pricks, and then some of the hairs that were essentially zapped, you could feel the pain straight down to your toes! Some areas are just more tender than others, and you can certainly feel that pain. There is discomfort, but the treatment is worth it. My skin reacts to waxing easily and even certain lotions, where it would break out into red rashes. With electrolysis, I do get the red bumps, redness, partial pain in the face, and white dots after it's completed. I can't go every week as it typically takes my face about 2 full weeks to recover. If you're not sure about electrolysis, I would give it a try. I don't have too many dark hairs, but one of the reasons why I wanted to try Electrolysis, is because I typically get threaded for my eyebrows, lip, chin, and side every two weeks! Electrolysis at New Finish Permanent Hair removal, has worked so far for me. Certain areas only needed it done once, while other areas needed multiple treatments. Today I had my first visit. But before I get to the visit I would like to give you my background story. It's going to be a long but good one so bear with me. I am a 30 year old mom with 3 crazy kids at home. After each pregnancy my hair growth got worse and worse. Since I have pale skin and blonde hair I didn't think I had a chance at permanent hair removal. So I would spend 15-20 mins a day plucking away at the pesky long hairs on my chin and neck. And of I didn't have time to pluck I would shave them. I hated them. They have caused so many self confidence issues. I haven't let my own husband touch my face in years. To pull away from a loved one from pure embaresment of something you have no control of. Well, it was hurtful to him and to me. I got my first treatment. I went in looking and feeling like Chewbacca. Super embarrassed about my growth that I had to allow to grow. But when I exited I held my head high. There were no hairs to be seen. All gone. Sure my face was a little red but that's to be expected. Now that I am home my skin feels a little tight. Maybe how it would feel with a very minor sun burn. But I am pleased that those hairs are gone! I know I still have to go back for more treatments. But I am also very sure that less and less hair will return as time passes. Let's talk pain. Because that did make me nervous. I was going to do it no matter how nervous I got, but the idea of pain did make me shudder a bit. It honestly wasn't that bad. The best way I can describe it is a slight pinch with a little bit of an electrical shock added in. So kinda like a static zap. Unfortunately, I have to agree with another customer about Jamison's lack of professionalism. I was finally gaining confidence from the treatments after going to Jamison for some time. After the last appointment, I broke out with acne and could not afford to get electrolysis done with running the risk of my face being infected, so I texted Jamison to reschedule. I didn't hear back. I gave him some time because he typically took some time to respond and required follow up. I attempted to contact him a few times after that, and he never responded. The sad part was all the text messages I sent to him came up as "read," each time, which confirmed that he had been ignoring my messages. read more

I just had my first treatment. This will be a long review! :) He answered all of my questions, and we were able to get started. I had initially booked an hour, but I was lucky to able to get another 1/2 hour of work since no one was booked after me. We think it will take another 3 hours or so for the "initial clearance," and I was about to book that next week. It seems that his schedule is quite flexible; that is great for me because my work schedule is a little erratic. The consultation really helped me understand how long it will take for initial clearance, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. So, if you want to know how many hours it will take for a certain area - you really just need him to physically see it to get an accurate estimate. Also worth mentioning: he called me back quickly after I called to schedule a consultation. I had emailed another person about a week ago, and I didn't hear back from her for several days. She also told me she wouldn't work on one of the areas I wanted to be treated. Here at New Finish, I can get any area I want done - but I did read that you can't do the inside of your nose or the inside of your ears. Not that I would want those areas done, but I thought I would mention something that came up in my research. The procedure itself was about what I expected. I am used to waxing and tweezing, but there were some moments that were a bit more painful than tweezing (I personally don't find waxing to be painful at all). Certainly some areas are more painful than others, and that is due the that area having more/sensitive nerves. I've heard it compared to tattooing, and I think that's a very fair comparison...although I think tattooing is more painful because it's more constant. The pain is tolerable - and worth it!! One of the biggest reasons I chose electrolysis over laser is because I didn't want to shave prior to my appointments. I like how the individual hairs are removed after being treated with electrolysis, so the "result" is instant. If the hair was not in the correct growing phase at the time of treatment, it can grow back...but at least it grows back in a similar way to waxing. With laser, my understanding is that you shave before your visit, then you are treated, and then you wait for the hairs to fall out within the next few weeks. I don't have that kind of patience! I am fine with waiting for the final result, but I really didn't want to back to shaving for the next several months. Also, it seems experiences with laser are quite variable, and if you really want to compare cost - electrolysis is likely to be cheaper in the meantime. It's also easier to budget since you pay by the hour; the hourly rate is roughly similar to the cost of a good Brazilian wax. It seems that laser is quite a bit more per individual treatment, and you often need many treatments. I also hear that some places "milk" the cost, especially the Groupon deals. I have fair skin and darkish hair, so I probably would have been a decent laser candidate. Electrolysis appealed to me for its permanency - and the fact it's been around for much longer than laser (with arguably better results). I cannot yet comment on the recovery/healing phase. I am a bit red with some areas of swelling, which is to be expected. I was instructed on aftercare and given an aftercare sheet. I was warned that my area may scab, but it should heal without scaring. I can't wait to see my final results! I will try to remember to post an update! read more

I was very skeptical at first, but it definitely exceeds my expectations! I did six laser treatments five years ago and it didn't get rid of any of the blonde hair and after couple years, all of the black hair came back! I have to say my first time walking in and getting a consultation from Jamison was different. I was a bit hesitant because he is a man doing electrolysis treatments and sometimes the areas that are treated could be hard to get used to with a man. I told him I could not do it So he politely recommended me to other electrolysis but I soon researched that other electrolysis don't have good reviews So I went with my gut feeling and i went back within 15 min I made my decision. I have to say Jamison is extremely professional, kind, understanding, and super informative of the electrolysis treatments. I have had 2 treatments and he's bin so great! So this is my very first time getting electrolysis treatment so I will be writing back on the results! so far everything is healing properly and I know Jamison has my back because he's bin in the business for 10 years he knows! And he definitely doesn't waste anybody's time or his. Highly recommend him there's only a few electrolysis but this man is straight up! My first issue with New Finish is about the pricing: When I first came to New Finish, I was given a total hours estimate/price quote. I was told that the area I wanted to get done would only be 30 hours and maybe even less. 39 hours later, I'm still not done and have spent hundreds of dollars more than expected. Although Jamie was very respectful and offered a discounted rate afterwards, I had budgeted my finances based on his estimate and could not afford to finish the treatment. So now I am not satisfied with the finished product. My second issue is about the sanitary conditions: When I first came to New Finish I asked to see all of the certifications and sanitary procedures and everything checked out fine. After one of my final treatments, I ended up with huge puss-filled bumps all over the treated area. These had never popped u before - so I am worried that there might have been something unsanitary about that day's treatment. I was so concerned that I went to see a dermatologist who recognized that the areas were infected and had to prescribe an anti-bacterial cream. When I told Jamie about this, he took no responsibility and claimed that I was the only customer this has ever happened to without offering any explanation or discount/refund, or even an apology. My third issue is about professionalism: I missed an appointment due to a scheduling mistake and instead of calling or texting me to check-in with me and send a reminder or ask if I needed to reschedule, I never heard back at all. Since no messages have been returned, I am now unable to finish treating the area we spent all this time and money working on. That is not nice and very unprofessional in my personal opinion. I am sure that New Finish works very well for many people, but it didn't for me unfortunately. read more

This guy is a master of deception and unprofessionalism. He will intentionally stall while working on certain areas, so he can take more of your money. He doesn't sanitize his hands prior to his electrolysis procedures. He put scars all over the area he was working on on my body and the hair was never permanently removed, but those scars are permanent. I am currently speaking with my attorney about this awful excuse of a human being and the permanent injuries he has imposed on my body. I was only in Las Vegas for one week for a class and Jamison removed more hair in 5 days than the electrologists in my hometown removed in 6 months. Although I gave him very short notice that I was flying into Las Vegas and needed to schedule as many appointments as possible over the span of 5 days, Jamison was extremely responsive and flexible. He found a way to fit me into his busy schedule and was reliably on time for every appointment. He ignored his cell phone during my scheduled time and never cut the appointment short (this is uncommon in my experience as I've seen electrologists try to multi-task phone calls and scheduling while working on clients). Jamison is the first man I have ever scheduled electrology with and although I prefer women electrologists, his reviews were by far the best in the area. He exceeded my expectations, as he was very professional, kind and non-threatening, reliable, responsive, and flexible. He is also very fast. He is extremely focused and efficient, able to remove large areas of hair completely without missing patches of hair. His office is welcoming and comfortable, as well as clean and hygienic. I didn't develop any infections or rashes. I am an experienced client, having had many laser hair removal treatments (which failed to work for me) and electrology treatments in multiple states, and I feel Jamison is among the top professionals in this field. I was going to a different electrolysis person (Gerber) here in the valley and then to Ivy Laser before coming to Jamison. I did four session with Gerber and she wasn't getting all the hairs and they were returning every time. I did four sessions with Ivy Laser and I am now 6 weeks post my last session- all hairs have returned and are not any finer- all the laser did was stunt the growth temporarily. A few weeks ago I had my first session with Jamison (treating a previously untreated area) and the only hairs that have come through in that area since weren't there when he treated last time- they are hairs in a different growth cycle. I was very happy with Jamison's level of care and understanding for my hair issues and I have scheduled another appointment to start treating the areas Ivy and Gerber failed to fix. New Finish Permanent Hair Removal has become #1 in my book for permanent hair removal by way of Electrolysis. I've tried other hair removal techniques in the past and they never worked. One popular method I used was Laser Hair Removal.
