They texted me a polite reminder they were coming that morning, were on time, and notified me of their arrival promptly. The vehicle was impeccably clean, and even had bottled water available if I wanted it! The most courteous driver you could hope for; we had a most pleasant chat to the airport - and despite heavy traffic, and construction blocks - he knew exactly how to get around them without stress. He shared with me that the cab drivers own their vehicles and are responsible for them, which impressed me because it shows their commitment to 'old-fashioned' quality service. I 100% recommend them, and will use them again in the future.

We booked a cab through the app for a ride from Cambridge to south station at 5am. I was concerned…read moreabout not being able to get an Uber/Lyft that early in the morning because there seems to be some sort of supply shortage lately around Boston. I did some research about cab companies around Cambridge/Boston, and Green Cab and Yellow Cab Companies stood out because of its app. The app was intuitive and easy to navigate. You'll need to register for an account, and you'll receive a email confirmation after the ride is booked. You'll also see a fee estimation when you book the ride, but the actual price may vary. On the day, I got a notification inside the app (i had it open) about 15 minutes prior to our schedule pickup time that said a car was assigned to our ride. It tells you the license plate and the driver's info. Once the cab is dispatched, you can track it live on the map. Our cab arrived about 5 minutes earlier than the schedule pick up time. The car has the cab company logo on it so it was easy to find. The driver also gave us a call when he was outside, which was quite nice. Our ride was about $25 before tips and we got to south station in less than 20 minutes. I actually checked Uber price before we headed out and it would have cost $50-$70. You can pay by cash or credit card in the car, or link a credit card in the app. Overall it was a good experience, and I would use Green Cab and Yellow Cab Companies again!

I wish there was a way to give a negative rating…read more My review has to do with a call I made on Monday afternoon at 1:30p. I was taking my gravely sick cat to the hospital and trying to get there so I could still make it to work at 3p. I called, got no time estimate and then was barked at, "have a nice day." 25 minutes later I called and got a condescending "It's on it's way, MA'AM!" 15 minutes later, no cab and now I am going to be late for work and my cat is nowhere near a vet. I put the cat inside figuring I hoped he would live for a few more hours and waved off the cab that was now waiting for me 45 minutes after the first call. Seconds later I get a call from a woman, their nightmare of a dispatcher, "So! MA'AM...you don't need the cab?!" I was worried about my cat and upset at her tone and admittedly yelled back, "NO! I needed it 30 minutes ago!" She (I kid you not) screamed in to the phone "YOU HAVE A NICE DAY THEN!" Forget the fact that the cab was dreadfully late. Forget that the service is abysmal. Forget that the people are rude and unreliable. To scream something so heartlessly disingenuous, so intended to upset is unforgivable. I was not asking for kindness or even an apology. I did not deserve to be yelled at and enraged by the person who failed me in the first place. The kicker is that the cat did die the next day. Independent Taxi is the worst. I pray that I never have to get in another of their cabs and I strongly encourage anyone reading this to look for another company to take you where you need to go. You deserve better.
